Middle third.. here's to hoping the list moves fast!
Anyone on upper or middle third willing to post their stats? Just trying to figure things out. I did everything they asked me too and I'm in the same place. Thanks.

Do you guys think the upper third is a reasonably safe place to be in terms of ultimately gaining acceptance?
middle third. i'm okay with that...just glad we finally know where we stand. i read an earlier post that last year 96 people were classified as alternates and 68 were accepted from this list. if this is correct and my calculations are accurate, everyone in the upper and middle bracket were accepted and 4 from the bottom were taken.
let's hope no one wants to go to UAB again this year. lol congrats to everyone who is happy with their position, and apologies to those who aren't.

Congrats Ditto! I came on this thread just to see where you were. I got the dreaded OOS rejection last week but since we interviewed at several of the same schools, I wanted to hear your outcome.

You can add me to the bottom tier. fml.
here's to PRAYING i get into South.
Been waiting since first week of interviews. .. i think it was aug 30? can't remember any more. sucks BIG TIMMMMEEEE
The e-mail says that the class is not over subscribed so the minute someone drops UAB will start going through the waitlist.

Hey Ditto, I was wondering where you found that information in the email?

It's in my second paragraph.
"While your specific place on the list will not be revealed, we can inform you that you are in the upper third of the Alternate List. In recent past years many individuals ranked at this level have gained an acceptance. The class is not over-subscribed and as accepted applicants withdraw, individuals will be accepted from the Alternate List."
Were you in the first round of interviews after the Early Decision applicants or were you an Early Decision applicant?
odoyle did you hear anything?
Thanks Ladydoc!! I'm really excited! Honestly, I thought I was going to hear bad news from UAB. Sorry about your rejection. 🙁 Did you end up getting in some where?
As soon as someone hears of someone getting in off of the upper third, please let all of us know. Month 7 of waiting is going to be the hardest.

Someone I know got in off the upper third today. Nice to see it already moving!

This is absolutely excruciating. When did you start seeing significant movement from the upper third last year?
What exactly is excruciating about knowing you have about a 95% chance of getting into UAB? If I were you, I wouldn't even be worrying about when I got in. I'd be making plans to attend assuming UAB is your first choice for med school.
I don't mean to seem like I am worrying too much or ungrateful for being in the position that I am. Without giving out too much personal information, I am enrolled in two more classes than I need to graduate. I took them in case I needed to raise my gpa for reapplication. The drop deadline is coming up, and I would really like to save money.
Hey all, I'm a first year here at UAB. Just wanted to drop in and say good luck. For all the upper and middle tier folks out there, yall should feel cautiously optimistic. As I am sure you know, they have made it completely through the upper and middle tiers for the past couple of years. Most importantly, try to relax and enjoy your last couple of months of undergrad and summer. If yall have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
