so it seems that first round of rejections are out.
does this mean that even a waitlist notification is not possible now?
 
Hi,

if I interviewed late march and have yet to hear a yes, no, or waitlist and I most likely in line for a rejection in may. Does anyone think/know if they accept or send out waitlist after the 2nd look which occurs today? Anyone info would be greatly appreciated. I was also wondering if anyone could tell me what email address do they use when sending an acceptance/rejection because all my messages I have received from them go to my junk box? Is it [email protected]. thanks again.
 
From all the past emails I have received from the admissions committee, it seems that they send it from [email protected].

So I see that a lot of students got rejection letters Thursday and Friday. I still have not heard a word from umass and I interviewed in December. Has anyone else not heard yes no or maybe from umass yet?

Same boat. Interviewed late January.
 
Same here.

I guess it's just rejection from this point on? It looked like there were only 2 rounds of waitlists this year, based off of this thread and I was expecting another round of waitlist. But I guess not, since it's almost May.

Can any current students comment on how many hours a day you spend in class first year at UMASS?
 
Interviewed 9/28, still no word. I'm expecting a rejection, but UMass has left me confused with their acceptance/WL/reject timing.

it depends on the day. mondays, wednesday, and fridays are usually around 4 or 5 hours. tuesday and thursdays are long days, usually 7 or 8 hours with an hour lunch break. of course there are variations depending on the week, but almost all lectures in the big lecture hall (Amp II) are recorded and posted online. anything in other rooms like the iTLC where we have histology, are usually not. hope that helps!
 
rejected today. didn't get in anywhere else. gameover. :shrug:
 
Is it just me or does it feel like there are less people wait listed this year? Last year, there seemed to be equal reporting of wait list vs rejections... maybe it's just variations in reporting.
 
Accepted off the WL today! Was Waitlisted 04/08
 
My fiance just got accepted off the waitlist today, was on the first round of waitlists 🙂
 
Rejected. I suspect you have to have "connections" to get into this school. Will never know for sure. Good luck everybody who is still waiting. Luckily there are other choices available in my case.

Connections? why do you feel that way?

I don't know the details about your application, but UMass Med is more focused on primary care than research which seems to be the opposite of the other schools in Massachusetts. Maybe you were a better fit for more research-focused institutions

Yeah you're right. A candidates application has nothing to do with the schools decision. They only take the 120 most "connected" people each year. 🙄

Fo realz. I totally know this guy who got accepted back in November. I called him last week and had him hook me up. my LOI was just a photo of us 2 hanging out
 
YAY accepted from waitlist today! It has been such a looonnnggg wait!
 
Is anyone in the process of looking for a place? There is a great ad on Craigslist, with a great price (1700 for a place with 4 bedrooms, or 425 / person). 5 mins drive from campus. Move in date is July 1st. I was wondering if 3 other people want to jump on this opportunity? Have to act fast before place is rented out. It's a long shot getting people in such short notice but I thought it was worth a try.

There is no on-campus parking for 1st year except after 5 PM. Students either walk to campus, walk to shuttle, or drive to shuttle and park there.

Is two months short notice? I'm sure you'll be able to find people to fill that place!

Yes... I was thinking the same thing after I made the post. I think I'll take a look at the place, sign the lease if I like it then worry about finding 3 roommates in the next month and a half.
