Has anyone recently spoken with UMass admissions about waitlist movement? I've been seeing movement start at other schools.
I emailed them and all I got was “we will announce all WL positions by the start of classes in August. Majority will come out by mid-July” super vagueHas anyone recently spoken with UMass admissions about waitlist movement? I've been seeing movement start at other schools.

Mid-July is so late - wow. I was really hoping for a large wave of movement this weekI emailed them and all I got was “we will announce all WL positions by the start of classes in August. Majority will come out by mid-July” super vague
Yeah what they said, it’s BY mid July, i think they will definitely send them out earlier lolSoo I'm not sure whether I'm missing something here, but they said "majority will come out by mid-July". This means that anytime between now and mid-July, most of the WL-->A decisions will be sent out, not that majority will come out during mid-July. Taking into consideration the delays caused by FAFSA, the big WL-->A wave may end up happening during end of May/even sometime in June. Basically, the statement they provided is the same one they would give for any app cycle - it's a typical "non-answer".
Just trying to keep some positivity here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m in the exact same position lol. I hope they’ll get back to us before then heehooMid July??? I need to commit to my only A by July 1st. That is soooo late, some schools start at the end of July
Good point. It’s just like how for post-II decisions, they said everyone will hear BY end of April. And some people found out in March and early April, so hopefully people will hear before mid-July.Soo I'm not sure whether I'm missing something here, but they said "majority will come out by mid-July". Congrats!!! Can I ask if it was for a specific track or the regular MD?Yesterday afternoon and it was an email
When we’re you interviewed and waitlisted if you don’t mind sharing?Yesterday afternoon and it was an email
I interviewed in late January and was waitlisted in late March for the regular MD trackWhen we’re you interviewed and waitlisted if you don’t mind sharing?
Congrats on the A!! Will you be accepting? Also a bit confused -- are you in-state for MA or VA? Just curious based on your comment historyI interviewed in late January and was waitlisted in late March for the regular MD track
I emailed them because I have to commit to enroll to another program by July 1st and they just said good luck in the “coming weeks” as movement happens on the waitlist.Does anyone have any updates? Has anyone reached out to the adcom about the status of waitlist movement? Thanks so much
Wait...so were they passive-aggressively saying "good for you on that A, that doesn't change anything" or are they saying that WL movement is most likely picking up this month? Lol these cryptic responses from the admissions teams are sending meI emailed them because I have to commit to enroll to another program by July 1st and they just said good luck in the “coming weeks” as movement happens on the waitlist.
Every person I’ve managed to contact has just said movement will happen in the future, genuinely baffled lmaoDoes anyone have any updates? Has anyone reached out to the adcom about the status of waitlist movement? Thanks so much
which school is this?Do you think the lack of WL movement is indicative of the class already being full ? I know for one of my NY state schools they sent email out telling everyone that the class was overfilled so WL movement was extremely unlikely. So I’m just generalizing but who knows
SUNY Upstate! Crossing my fingers all of us hear back from UMass soonwhich school is this?
@BitofNothin, I guess we did make it to 3 weeksOdds we make it to 3 weeks since the last WL movement?
Ugh I'm similar here- I have to commit by early July and tbh the longer I wait the less interested I am 😭 Im about to sign on an apartment and i want to know where I'm going for the next four years!!Welp another week of silence. I only have one more week left until I have to commit elsewhere halfway across the country
+1 I called last week & they said the same thingWhen I asked a week ago, admissions just said "There is a slight chance there will be movement off our waitlist around our Commit to Enroll deadline (July 12), but we cannot guarantee that."
so basically they mean wl movement is pretty much over? I am surprised that only a few were reported here for a school that typically moved 70 off the list. When I asked a week ago, admissions just said "There is a slight chance there will be movement off our waitlist around our Commit to Enroll deadline (July 12), but we cannot guarantee that."
