I'm also interviewing on october 12th see you there!! 👍

Hey moogle44, are you staying with a host or at a hotel? I actually haven't heard anything back from the hosting committee, so I'm thinking I may just have to reserve a nice room somewhere. Any ideas?

Pooled at last! (I realize that this is hardly tantamount to an interview invite, but I'm pleased to know that I wasn't outright rejected.)

haha yeah June. I mean it's better than nothing, but at the same time it doesn't mean a whole LOT.

Yea I already reserved a room at a hotel, do you wana split it? we can save money on the cab rides too.

how long did it take everyone to get the secondary? I called the office all day today and they never picked up or called me back...I got all of my other secondaries last week

well I finally got in touch with someone. quiet thread...

Hi guys,

I know earlier in the thread, it was mentioned that it might help to show interest in making it from the small pool to invite stage. I think it was suggested that we just call and speak to the Admissions office .. I was wondering if sending an update + interest letter, i.e. I have a few updates to my application and can reiterate my interest, would be a good idea / worth it? Or is it better to just call? I feel like it'd be slightly awkward to just up and start professing my interest to someone on the phone .. not that I'm above it 😉

Any suggestions? Thanks 🙂

Generally how long after being complete should we expect hear something in regards to interview invites?

Has anyone heard anything from UVM yet? From last year's thread it looks like decisions (= waitlists) started going out 10/17, so I guess there's hope for today... 🙂

nope but I'm hoping for today! Checked my status this morning and no change. I really really want to get into this place so I'm anxious to hear.

lame. :annoyed: did you interview? when were you complete?

Pre-interview, no small pool, submitted 7/20ish. Hope my mishap helps someone else brace themselves or finally get some closure. Good luck to the rest 👍

Post-interview statuses are up! I am on the out-of-area waitlist. :luck:

Has anyone gotten out of the pool? It's getting a little crowded and I'm no good at treading water.

Also out-of-area waitlist. Here's to hoping they pull us off soon! Good luck everyone! 😀

hahaha I know what you mean. I've been in there since it existed. I guess we just keep on playing the waiting game.

Hahah completely agree .. much more of this and I'll drown ..

It was suggested earlier in here that calling the office/expressing interest might get you to the interview stage. Anyone know/have experience with whether sending an update/letter of interest would help? Or do we have to call?

Good luck to everyone!

Rejected 🙁 today through the online applicant center, no email either 👎.

Ugh this week is going so BADDDDDD 😱. I need some more schools to show me some love.

I would almost appreciate this at this point... I've been in the pool so freaking long it is ridiculous. Since the beginning. How long will they keep me in limbo? I'm not going to call them or withdraw... at this point I'm just curious how long they will keep me there.

Can people who've already interviewed tell me if the day really runs to 4:30pm?

For those of you who interviewed already, can I ask some weird logistical questions?🙂

1 - what exactly was the "lite fare' offered in the morning/what was lunch? (This is code for, should I just eat a really good breakfast)
2 - how much walking did you actually do
3 - how much walking outside did you do?
4 - If anyone drove, how far was the parking garage from where you needed to be?

Can you tell most of my concerns are about my stomach and my feet? 😉 Thanks in advance!!!

Snacks, Coffee, Juice -- definitely eat a good breakfast
2 - how much walking did you actually do

Compared to other schools, I didn't think it was very much walking. Hospital tour was like 30-40 minutes
3 - how much walking outside did you do?
None for me
4 - If anyone drove, how far was the parking garage from where you needed to be?
Didn't drive

1. Breakfast (as mentioned above coffee, tea) and I believe they had granola bars.

Lunch: They give you a $10 coupon to get food at the cafeteria so you can get whatever you want. They have a small salad bar, hot food etc. Not a ton of options but it gets the job done.

2. I wore heels....walking tour was very doable. You mostly stay inside (even if the weather is nice) because they like to show you that everything is connected (when the snow starts)

3. I walked all over town for a couple of hours (not in my heels). I pretty much walked the perimeter by the lake and up/down/across the main streets. You can walk as much or as little as you want. Church street is probably only a 15 min walk from campus.

4. I didn't drive, but there is a parking lot right at the entrance to the building.

congratulations to those accepted this week!! 👍 feel free to PM with questions.

for those waitlisted, it's not too early to start building your update file. Our admissions people reeeeally like getting love letters

:luck: to all

I submitted Sept 1st or 2nd and haven't had any word yet on my application....has anyone else who submitted around this time heard back form UVM?

I can't remember specifically....but I think I was finished around 3:30pm. (maybe earlier....)

You will actually interview at either 1:30 or 2:30, and be done either way by 3:30 at the latest. If you need to leave earlier, contact them and let them know and they can work to get you a 1:30 interview and then have you leave around 2:30.

Anyone know UVM's policy on update letters? I've been in the small pool for a while...

Thanks!

For anyone who's interviewed, how long did it take for them to update your status? Mine is still on the "thank you for scheduling your interview" and I was there mid September! It's been a month already....

mine changed at least a couple of weeks ago to "a decision has made and you will be notified shortly" and then on tuesday or wednesday it changed to the out of region waitlist. I interviewed 9/14.

Been small pooled for a WHILE and haven't had an interview invite yet. But I am OOS, but still. What gives?

did they email u? or just a status change?

My application was complete right around September 1, and I am still in "preliminary screening." I think I'm right about at 8 weeks. I know there are people on SDN that said their applications took 11 weeks to get "small pooled," but I keep getting this sinking feeling that I have been rejected 🙁

Those that have been accepted out of state, what are your stats/extracurrics?

You could be like me and be in the small pool since July... it's all a lot of waiting haha

I want to hear back from this school so bad....

It seems like there's been some discussion on writing update/interest letters pre-interview... I want to send a letter and maybe call to follow up on it. I really am super interested in this school and would feel extremely excited about getting a chance to even interview there. Alas, still wading around in the small pool.

I was wondering if anyone knew what the best way is to send a letter to UVM (email or Online Applicant Center or snail mail)? Who do we address it to (Admissions Committee or the Dean of Admissions)?

Thanks in advance for your help. 🙂

I sent in an update letter through email and got small pooled the next week so I definitely think its worth a try.

Thanks mes415! I've been small pooled forever so hopefully an update letter will push me over. What email did you send your update to?

BTW - Has anyone called them to ask for a status update/show interest? I'm debating just calling them next week since I haven't heard from them and I've been complete since July 🙁
