Last year they accepted the first person (on SDN) off the waitlist on 10/24.. hopefully they'll do the same soon for us!

I emailed UVM and they confirmed that they accept updates pre-interview. They told me to email updates to [email protected] .

Also, do they tell us right after the meeting? Like 30 seconds after? Five minutes? Ten?

LOL. I called earlier today to ask about my post-interview status and Mary told me that my file is going to get reviewed tomorrow at their committee meeting. She didn't tell me when I would hear from them, but I'm guessing soon after...hopefully not too long. I want to know already!!:luck:

I have been in this small pool for almost 2 months now...I am beginning to lose a little hope 🙁
 
Today is the big day. They are probably discussing our files as we speak! 😀
 
My fingers are pruney from sitting in the pool so long.

Day is probably over! My fate for the next four years has been decided!

I wonder when they'll tell us.
 
Hmm, no one seems to have heard yet. They did tell us November, so maybe a few more weeks. I just got excited because someone mentioned it.
 
Based on years past, it usually takes about a week (or a little more) from the time they have a committee meeting until the results are posted/emailed.

On last years thread the people who interviewed in October heard back around November 10th.

I think some schools like to wait until the application deadline has passed (for UVM its Nov 1st) to see all the potential applicants before issuing more acceptances.

So, hopefully we'll hear something soon, most likely next week.
 
So I interviewed at UVM on 10/21 (shout out to all the other interviewees, you all were so cool!). Anyways, I thought they told us that our interview group would not hear back until December? Can anyone confirm this? I will probably still continue to check my status anyways haha.
 
I interviewed back in September and my status still says that my file will be reviewed by the admissions committee. I hope it changes soon! Especially if they just met!

i was there that day too, who were you again?
 
Well I interviewed towards the end of September and so hopefully my time is up in a few days. They said November, so November 10th sounds like it could be the same this year.
 
Hey guys,

I interviewed in late september and contacted the admissions office. They told me that they are reviewing candidates from late september and october this week and we should hear by the middle of next week (via status update). Good luck to everyone!

got an interview for first week Jan. wondering if that is an interview for a waitlist position or if they will still have open seats at that time. Im also out of state.
 
typically, this school leaves spaces open until ~beginning of May because they like to have a good idea of the range of applicants interviewing. usually, about half of the class will be filled by mid January and the rest of the class will fill within the last half of interview season. keep in mind that nearly everyone is waitlisted before admittance! good luck and congrats on the interview!

A question for those of you who have already had the chance to interview here; can you please share who it is that conducts the interviews generally? Are they people from the admissions office? Doctors from the hospital? Professors/Doctors at the school? Thanks in advance 🙂

yes, certainly come to your interview. as profundus said, it is assuredly not just for a waitlist slot (although you will almost certainly be waitlisted initially, just like everyone else!) the interview season runs into April and people who interview then do get in, all the time.

Anyone have interview on 11/11?? Getting excited! and nervous...

Any advice on how to prepare for the interview?

Everyone there is SO nice and friendly. One of the few schools where students actually went up to us to say hi, ask us if we had questions, as opposed to gawk at us like we were zoo animals while walking around. One advice I would have is to have a good answer for why UVM/Vermont. I was asked this question a couple times in different ways, probably more so than others because I am from CA. Good luck!

Thanks! I am also from California! so I guess I should expect a similar experience. UVM is beautiful and I have heard only great things about it. Really hope I will get in!
 
So we're supposed to hear back this week right? If we interviewed in late Sept?

I'm from California too but I wasn't asked the "why Vermont" question. I thought it was weird because I had never been to Vermont prior to my interview so the question seemed appropriate.
 
I got the 'notified shortly'. Is that a waitlist/rejection?

Same status update too...it'd be nice to hear back.

ha, maybe the next status update will be,

"We've recently updated your status and notified you. We will soon be contacting you to update you on that status."
 
Finally small pooled today after being complete since 8/26!
 
ok so i'm in the "notified shortly" category as well. any thoughts on sending update letters and/or what to include in them? i don't have anything really new to add to my app, but i want to show them that i'm really interested....so what to say?! just how much i wanna go to their school?!

nattyrat,

i don't think that could hurt but it sounds to me that the committee has already come to a decision. On the other hand if you were put on waitlist, which I hope you aren't but I've heard UVM does a lot early in the cycle, I think it would be a good idea. But I'm not on the adcom so what do I know!

do we know if UVM calls for acceptances? i know a few other schools i've interviewed at will call you if you're accepted. if that's the case then anyone with the "notified shortly" message can be pretty sure they're either rejected or waitlisted right? anyways, thanks for the advice huskiekid, i guess i'll wait to see what the verdict is before i draft up an update letter.....

uggh waiting is the worst.

I think even calls haven't been made yet. No decisions were give out yet, they are probably preparing acceptance packets and such. Hopefully we will hear in the next couple of days...or couple of hours

sheesh i hope. i got one rejection so far post-interview, and i have to say it's put a huge dent in my confidence.

They don't call - they will email you if they accept you. If they waitlist or reject you, they ONLY update the web site. I am surprised you haven't heard - I saw them meeting twice last week.

We're suppose to hear back this week. At least thats what the others are saying.
 
Just called in and was told to expect a yay or nay by next Friday. Darn, and I was so set on knowing like right now...
