I wonder how hard it is to get out of the small pool and swim in the interviewee pool. I'm sure the water is much warmer there. 😳

I submitted my secondary the first day possible. My guess as to why I got the interview invite so quickly is that they already had my application in the pile that was getting interviews, they just weren't going to send out the invite until they had cleared up the issue with my app. I'm pretty sure they don't love me THAT much... but you never know 😉
 
Yup, I'm still in-state! Maybe my second time around I'll get off the wait-list...or be accepted right off the bat!!! Here's to wishful thinking🙂

Did everyone else NOT get a payment confirmation email? So far UVM is the only school not to send me one and I am wondering if there was a mistake in my app or if they just don't send out a confirmation email.

In case it helps you answer, my credit card number is 2834 2749 2839 7777, it expires 13/15 and my name is Hugh Jass.

I got an invite and a specific time for my interview. What does interview day consist of?
 
I applied OOS and have been pooled for 3 weeks now, do you guys know when they let OOS know if you have an interview or not?

I've been checking the status page for some time now and no change.

If it makes you feel any better, I was one of the first to submit and was pooled "as early as one could be"..and have still not received any word...I don't think they'll let us know for a while..til they get a steady stream of invites out and have established a "pool of potential acceptees".

I think once you've been pooled you'll have that status until you're "released form consideration" in March/April unless you get the interview invite.

If we're small pooled what is the percentage/statistic of getting an interview?
 
how do you know if you're pooled? my status page just says that they've received my app and that it can take 6-8 weeks to review.

After you are reviewed, then the status may change to something along the lines of a review of your file was complete and you are within a pool of applicants to which an interview invitation may be extended.
 
If anyone's curious - one of my friends is a third year at UVM and her advisor is the Dean of Admissions (!!!). According to her, September 9 is the first day of interviews. Just an FYI...
 
just got an interview invite for oct 19th (Tuesday) I am super excited 🙂 hoping to reschedule it for a thursday though.
 
for those who were pooled, when did you send your secondary and when did you receive notice that you've been pooled? i sent mine in about a month ago and haven't heard anything yet. since i can't check my status online, i'm getting a little anxious. thanks!

I'm an OOS applicant. Got an interview invite on Monday for October 5th. They're probably just working through the pooled list though, so just hang in there! 🙂

Pooled today. OOS 3.5/33. Submit 7/29, Complete 8/4.
 
And rejected today! One day from small pool to rejection. I like that they are speedy.


This seems like a great school though, would have loved to attend. Good luck to everyone 🙂.

hahahaha same here. My first one, and I'm not going to lie...it stings a little. I totally wasn't expecting a rejection this early. Oh well, there are others.

i submitted on 7/27 and it says my file is under preliminary review and may take up to 6-8 weeks. is this accurate? for those who got pooled or interviews, how long did you have to wait before you received notice from the school?

Rejected - found out via "Online Applicant Center" (not e-mail!). Good luck to the rest of you!
 
Okay guys... I just called and apparently there was a computer glitch (!!!). I don't know about everyone else, but they said that I was NOT rejected, and everyone whose file had been read was sent a rejection because of this glitch. I was told to check back in a few hours, and that the problem should be fixed by then. GL to everyone that all these rejections were just a result of the computer goof, not because of actual rejection!

Thanks for finding out! I was pretty surprised when I saw my rejection status then when I saw people on here with 32+ MCATs get rejected I knew there had to be something wrong.
 
Haha, "rejected" here as well. Or maybe just straight up rejected. But I hope not.

I am writing to alert you to the fact that our admissions system has been experiencing technical difficulties that is causing an incorrect message to be displayed when you login to the Online Applicant Center. The message currently states that your file is no longer under consideration and this is incorrect. We are working with AMCAS on this issue and the corrected status should return shortly. I apologize for any confusion or concern this may have caused.

Your status should read:

"Your file is complete and has been preliminarily reviewed. You are within a pool of applicants from which an interview may be extended. Please note that this does not guarantee you will be offered an interview and you may not see an update to your status for several months. Interviews are held on most Tuesdays and Thursdays between mid-September and mid-April. You will be notified via email if you have been selected to interview."

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience, confusion (and stress!) this may have caused and we appreciate your interest in UVM.
