This is exactly why I rather be given a time frame for receiving a decision rather than an exact date. I drive myself insane checking SDN, my status page and email. When they give a time window, I still want to know just as much, but I don't freak out as much with the notice of every new email!

accepted!!! though it was a slightly later time 6:08PM lol
 
Do they send the acceptances in batches? Or is it safe to say if we didn't receive the e-mail yet we are done for today??
 
Jesus, I received three e-mails in the last 10 minutes, none of them from VCU. I have to go lay down for a bit.
 
To those who did not get accepted this time around - I know the prospect of another wait is devastating but please do not lose hope. I did not get accepted during the first round either, so not getting in today is by no means definitive.

My heart goes out to all of you who are still waiting. Congratulations as well to all who were accepted.
 
No news for me either, interviewed 12/06. I didn't necessarily expect to hear back today considering they only had 9 days to process my batch of applicants, but it would have been fantastic to find out today. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted. The school is BY FAR my top choice, and I'm definitely not looking forward to waiting until February now. Does anybody know what the latest interview date that made it through to the December 15th offers was by chance?

ha just try to take it easy hokies. yea it's going to take awhile. give it some time. your date was too close to dec 15th. schools usually take a long time to make decisions. usually at least a month.
 
interviewed 10/26, how have i not gotten an update today? anyone else interview as early as that and still not heard?

Oct 6, either they didn't finish, or it score was not high enough this round 🙁

Yeah, I interviewed 10/16 and received no word today. I am viewing it as somewhat of a positive though (not as positive as an acceptance of course), as we could have gotten rejected but didn't. I am hoping that we got stuck in limbo between acceptance and wait-list, couldn't come to an agreement, so they decided to delay a decision. In my opinion, no news in this situation my be good news since we didn't get rejected or WLd.
 
Congrats to those who got in. And for those who didn't hear YET, don't lose hope guys. You got interviewed for a reason. So just keep it up guys. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE
 
10/22 interview but didn't hear back yet - not really concerned, got other acceptances, and won't be attending VCU but it would still be be nice to know

tka123, when did you interview? By the first round you mean October 16th, right? So you did not get accepted then, and now did? That is so great!!! I thought for sure if one doesn't get accepted in the first round, they will end up in the WT. I guess I was wrong. Congrats!!! 👍

Rob, if you have no intention of attending VCU, shouldn't you withdraw? Not meaning to be preachy, but it seems not doing so is just wasting a lot of people's time.

I withdrew everywhere I hadn't interviewed, but seen as I spent the $$ to go down and interview - i'd like to know the result
 
I interviewed in mid September and was on hold the next week. So yes, I was eligible for an October acceptance but did not receive one. Worst day ever. 🙂

Getting the news yesterday has more than made up for it though, so please don't despair if you didn't hear anything yet.

Interesting name btw... Are you by any chance related to Petr Svoboda who wore #25 and played defense for the Montreal Canadians back in the day?
 
"The committee's file review indicates that they would like to consider your file further. We are now in the process of scheduling interviews and will continue to do so through February. Unfortunately, the committee indicates interest in far more candidates than we are able to interview. Since we are dependent on the Committee member's schedules for interview spaces, we are unable to predict when or if we will be able to schedule you this year. Please continue to check this site to learn when further action has been taken."

Is that a nice way of saying I am rejected? Did anyone else get this? What does this mean??

Hey, I interviewed in early September, but still did not get anything...:-( Losing hope... VCU is my 1st choice. Are you going there for sure?
I have no connection to that guy Svoboda, I don't even know who he is 🙂 Svoboda means Freedom in Russian, and I am Russian and I like freedom. As simple as that 🙂

Same here, although I interviewed in early October. I've gotten accepted to a couple other schools, but VCU is one of my top two along with SLU. Does anyone know what the likelihood of getting off the hold status is if we've been waiting for this long? I think I'm destined to be on the waitlist, but praying that I won't be rejected in the end 🙁

It all depends on your interviewer and file reviewer being in attendance at the admissions committee meetings to present you. The committee members also have clinical responsibilities, teaching requirements, along with admission committee duties in addition to any other roles in which they serve.

Yes, it's likely VeeTeeHokies interviewed too close to Dec 15th; however, like you were told at the information session on your interview day (at least I hope you were told) each candidate presentation at committee meetings is 5 minutes, the committee votes, and moves to the next candidate. The rank score is calculated soon after (usually within 2-3 days) and this rank score = committee's decision (that comes out to way less than a month). I'm not sure of the decision process at other institutions.

Best wishes to everyone and keep the hope alive! (fyi: I interviewed in Oct of my app year, got on the OOS waitlist in March, and accepted in late June...so yes, it can be done)

I received an interview invite over the weekend! I had the "may" status since the end of August..so there is still hope for all of those still waiting for interviews.

I have been accepted to Drexel and New York Medical. Has anyone interviewed at either of those schools as well as VCU? If so, care to share any comparisons? Anything truly remarkable about VCU that made it stand out to you? I'm debating whether to take the interview, as Drexel is very close to my friends and family, and it would be difficult to choose a school that is further away over one that is close to people I know... Thanks all.

klassik, what other dates were open? I remember way back when I got an interview they had some december dates open. The earliest January date was the 19th. Were more dates open?

For anyone, if I try to reschedule, does that immediately wipe away my interview date that I'm holding, or can I first look at the dates available on the website?

January 11, January 19th and I believe January 25th was also available.
 
Damn. I got the MAY status in late September and heard nothing since. Actually I have no interviews period.

Received an interview offer a few days ago. Only interview days available are in Feburary and March.

Complete 10/15.

How is VCU with offering financial aid? I've already recieved acceptance at my state school which is considerably cheaper. But I'm still interviewing and keeping my options open in case I get some amazing scholarships. :xf:

Long time lurker first time poster.

Got accepted to VCU back in October, and will be attending. I was complete about 2 months before that, and had the further status. The interview invite came in early September.

Stats are middle of the road. ~3.4/5 and ~30

Loved VCU. Hospital was amazing...

Good luck to all of you. Hope to see some of you there in 7 months.

I'm from the area (I go to VCU undergrad). If you have lots and lots of money, go to the Jefferson Hotel (Its 5-star), but if you are like me, there are Holiday Inn's and Mariot's around with taxi services to take you to and fro
