So for the longest time I have had the status update that just basically tells me I am a person of interest for an interview, and they will schedule one when my priority number comes up. However, it also indicates interviews are through February. I just checked the status and it remains unchanged. Does anyone know if thats the end, or will I get an official letter/email or anything?

I interviewed in January (Stats: 3.88 Cum. GPA; 27R MCAT; IS) and still waiting to hear from VCU. I haven't received any acceptances so far, so I'm really hoping I get into VCU. :xf:

Darn MCAT score! 🙁

Rejected pre-interview today after having the "may" status.

GL everyone! :luck:

Has anybody received an invite to the "Second Look" in April but not been accepted post-interview yet?

Any idea what this means?

I was accepted a while ago but no 2nd look email. Do you know what date in April the 2nd look is?

Haha...I came to this thread right now just to ask the very same question!👍 Anyone know? Is it a good sign?

April 1-2nd. I received the invitation by standard mail. I've heard applicants are randomly invited...but I don't know for sure.

Haha "random" seems to be the theme of this whole process.

I may be completely off and jinxing, but do you think it could be that we were accepted since the Feb 1st date but cant release that until March 16th - but want to give enough of a heads up to plan for that trip?

In any case, it's not a rejection...sounds more like an interview encore.

Current 1st year here -

Things may have changed since last year, but last year, only underrepresented students were invited to Second Look. Of those that were invited, some of us already had acceptances, some did not. Out of the ones that did not have an acceptance yet, some ended up receiving acceptances and some did not. Getting an invite to Second Look does not guarantee an eventual acceptance, but I think that showing your enthusiasm at Second Look could increase your chances. I hope this helps.

Perfect, thank you very much! I'll be out there, bells on.

+1... Top choice school BY FAR! Hoping to be amongst the lucky ones on Wednesday. Good luck to everybody that's in the same position!

No problem. Second look was a lot of fun. First year at VCU has been absolutely amazing so I'm pulling for all of you. I couldn't be happier with my school.

Thanks for the info reveille! I truly loved the school. Is there anything we can do to better our chances post-interview? I know at this point it's basically set in stone (waitlist/reject/accept) for 3/16. But If we do get waitlisted, what would you recommend that we do--the typical updates & interest letters?

Updates and interest letters certainly can't hurt. However, if I'm being honest, VCU is not a school that has traditionally been swayed significantly by these. I don't think that it would move you in front of anyone in the pecking order since your score is absolutely set in stone, but maybe it could give you enough to edge someone out if you were tied for one of those last couple of spots.

Sorry that this isn't exactly awesome news. Try to keep the faith though. I hope that you get good news in a few days!

Good luck to everyone who's waiting too!! Stay hopeful, I got my acceptance in August last year! And keep showing them your interest 🙂

i know i am headed for the waitlist so thanks for the inspiration!

The majority of the class is filled with applicants from the waitlist. Is the big decision day still May 15?

so should we all be expecting an email/status update today one way or another? anyone know?

I think we should expect a status update if we are accepted or rejected, although I believe if we were rejected we would know by now. If we do not receive any notifications at all today, I believe we will be placed on the waitlist later this month.

i'm assuming that's 6pm EST O_O. good luck to everyone when those few hours roll by 😀! LETS GO VCU!

Does anyone know about how many people receive acceptances on a release day? Looking through this thread it seems not many people get offers (3-5 sdners/release date; of course sdn is not representative of the entire applicant pool but even assuming a 10:1 regular applicant:sdn applicant ratio, that means that only 30-50 people would receive straight up acceptances).

I guess even being on the waitlist still gives one a significant chance of acceptance?

i dont know why im so anxious...ive been accepted a few places but for some reason really really want to hear back from these guys...i enjoyed my interview and my experience out there a lot

one of my friends who also interviewed there in their last round of interviews said he got a message 3 days ago saying his application has been put on hold and that they anticipate making offers on march 16...anyone else get this email?

Everyone gets that email.

Oh my gosh this is killing me!! Has anyone heard news????

They have had problems with the server in the past, in which case we might hear from them some time tomorrow. Otherwise, I guess wait-list it is then...

soooo....who here was only minimally productive at work today? 🙂

Me me me! Though I did run a gel so i guess that's being mildly productive

This is crazy. Nobody has heard anything? I haven't been able to get any studying done all day!👎

Nothing here either, I hope they get the messages out at some point tonight...
