I don't know...I interpreted MWCook's message on the login page to be that decisions went out but the system doesn't update until after 6pm and it's the system that is connected with our e-mail addresses so even though they sent the acceptances out, we won't be notified/status updated until after 6pm est.

I have the same status as well. I'm hopeful, but am not really expecting anything after 6pm as when I called, the guy from the office seemed to think that we would have heard by now.

I hope for your sake this is true, but then why would I have received the status update email and acceptance information on the website if that were the case? Maybe mine was a fluke this morning and the rest will go out after 6? I hope so! Good luck!

I have a sinking feeling that we ultimately did not get in this round. Off to the hopeful waitlist, and not rejection, pile. The torture goes on (as if our months of waiting wasn't enough already).

Still, it seems odd that only one SDNer posted an acceptance. 😕 Perhaps others who were accepted are simply lurking but not posting?

What's annoying is that I already came to terms with not getting accepted this morning when the one person posted. Then I come to find that all the acceptances hadn't been sent out yet, only to be disappointed once more. Oh how I love the medical school acceptance process.

We probably didn't apply to the same schools, except VCU, because they've all been lagging with their notifications! lol

if it hasn't arrived yet today..there's no point hanging around...most likely we are all on waitlist or rejected..

considering sdn is mostly the nerdier applicants...it surprises me there has only been one acceptance..hey..i guess the others are celebrating....all the rest of us can hope for now is waitlist...peace

I got an email about a status update at 6:16am this morning. Went to the website and saw I've been accepted. I'm shocked that no one else has heard anything... perhaps they are still having server issues.

and i don't know if this has any relevancy, but i just tried to check my status and the VCU status login page isn't working. It keeps timing out on me or saying unable to load. Anyone else having this issue too?

Yep, just tried the status page and my computer won't load the page either...weird (it was working as of 7 pm this evening).

I'm OOS, although I went to college in Virginia, worked in Virginia, and nearly all of my hospital shadowing and volunteer work was performed in VA..not sure if that made a difference though!

I was 33 and 3.8. OOS.

I had a very thought provoking interview and felt it was the most "real" discussion I had had on the interview trail. My interviewer asked very interesting and personal questions that allowed me to reveal my thoughts on a lot of topics. I am almost sure this was why I got in this late in the game. I've been waitlisted at every other school I've interviewed at, even ones where the interviewer all but told me I would be accepted.

Good luck to everyone else. Yours is coming, whether it be at VCU or elsewhere.

im ready to accept that i did not get in. that sucks. i enjoyed my interview and it would have been a tough decision had i gotten in, but choosing definitely would have been a nice problem to have! good luck folks!

Congrats to all of you accepted at VCU. I am an M4 leaving for Residency soon along with my roommates, so I would like to rent my townhouse to any medical students. My parents own the place and will maintain it.
The townhouse is located at 25th street and East Franklin Street. It is a very quiet and safe area, within walking distance to a grocery store and CVS.

-about 1350 square feet
-3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths
-Kitchen with central island
-Small dining area and large living room
-15 min walk to VCU, with a bus stop 3 blocks away
-furnished with cable and wireless internet.
-Washer/dryer in basement
-Central A/C and heat pump - replaced 1 year ago
-Working fireplace
-Spacious attic for storage
-One designated parking lot space but street parking never a problem

-Rent for the rooms would be $450, $500, and $550 depending on room chosen
-Utilities (electric, water, trash, internet, cable) comes to about $300 total
