all decisions are mailed out on the 1st. if you are accepted, you will also find out in a more expeditious manner, though not necessarily on the 1st... i know i'm being a bit obtuse here, so i'm sorry about that..

I'd definitely take the over. Last year, there were 60 posts on Feb. 28 alone.

I was thinking that Rougeunicorn was saying that we will all get something in the mail but accepted studnets will 'also' get an email?

ALL admissions decisions will be send out on Wednesday (latest by Thursday) by EMAIL AND MAIL.

And guys, I think it is safe to say that it is almost certain that everyone of us who are waiting for this school has at least one acceptance already. Let's remember those who are less fortunate, those who did not even get a chance to have an interview! We are all going to be doctors eventually and make a difference.

Unfortunately can't really make decisions until financial aid information is received, though. 😳

Last night I had a dream about waiting for Columbia decisions...I had friends who in reality didn't even apply to medical school get accepted to Columbia while I waited and waited for a decision. I think I better stop lurking SDN for the next few days for mental health reasons while we're on this positive note

You know, as much as all of this feel-good talk sickens me--just sickens me, I tell you!--I have to admit that it was at Columbia's interview day that I most enjoyed the company of my fellow interviewees. Dr. Nicholas et al. really know how to assemble an impressive and delightful group of individuals from every conceivable background. 👍 🙂

Yea, I also noticed that. I know these next couple of weeks will be an emotional roller coaster, but I'm ready as I can be for the ride. So is next week Harvard and the 13th Yale? Are you also waiting on Penn btw?

I think that no one really knows when Harvard is coming out. I was told late March at my interview but people seem to say that it should come out next week. As for Yale I am pretty sure that it is the 13th 🙂

And no, I couldn't apply to Penn because of my Canadian status. Penn doesn't accept international students... 🙁

I'm going into consulting. So....

Don't do it. I was at McKinsey for 3 years right after college and got to the same position, within that time frame, as a guy who did his MD/PhD in the HST program. If you really want to do consulting (and I strongly advise against it) just go in during the next recruiting cycle. You will derive way more satisfaction (i.e. use your brain) by being an academic clinician, or make way more money (if that's your M.O.) by going into private practice, than by doing management consulting. While doctors complain about patient charts, it is nothing compared to the tedium of cold-calling, paperwork, and making pivot tables for useless meeting after useless meeting. I don't know if a Bainie or BCG'er had different experiences, though.

It's not that they don't take internationals, they require all applicants to have a year of school in the states, which is why I couldn't apply. Medhopefuls probably has a Canadian undergrad too.
