Yeah, I just got the letter no call.

Advice for the interview: 1. It's actually a very fun day. The interviews are very relaxed. 2. Practice. I went over the interview feedback forum page and practiced lots of questions. (I live close so I even did a test run and drove the the school the night before just so I would not get lost. I know super dorky.) 3. Not only should be able to explain how Loyola will make you a great doctor, but be able to explain how you are already actively becoming a great doctor. 4. Print out your entire AMCAS application and read it over in between interviews. They asks a lot about this.

What to expect: When you get the admissions office on the first floor they give you a folder with the times and locations of your interviews. Also, there is a map because you may have an interview somewhere in the hospital. They are spread out so I was able to sit in on a lecture and small group session. I would suggest you try to do that. It was fun and the students were cool. The interviews are 30 min. However, one of mine was only like 20 min. I was asked one or two very interview like questions, but then we just had a chat about movies or stuff like that.

congrats traumamed! still no letter or call but anxiously awaiting the mail tomorrow. strange that they call some people but not all.

your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in mid-April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail.
I submitted sec in early october, just saw this update.. I have a high gpa and low mcat score, but great letters of rec and a unique story, plus im a non trad applicant.. I have read that some unfortunate souls got flat out rejected, what do you think this means? i know there is no point of speculating, but im just wondering if YOU OR ANYONE ELSE can provide some insight ?
Thanks

This status is Loyola's version of a hold. In my experience hold=future rejection. People have commented that this is not the case with Loyola. I'll believe it when I see it. Good luck

I submitted my secondary August 23rd and am still under review....I'm hoping this is a good thing? :xf:

A hold at Loyola is not a death sentence. They are notorious for dragging interviews into late in the season and I know the class of 2015 had like 25% of it's students pulled from the wait list. Until you are rejected there is still a significant amount of hope! Good Luck!

Lets hope it works out that way! I'm on hold too, and I would love to interview at Loyola!

I've been under review forever as well, I guess we'll see.

I have also been under review since August 25th...does this just mean that they have not yet reviewed our applications??:eyebrow: hopefully we will hear from them soon..:luck::luck:

Hey congrats on the acceptance. I was complete on the 12th, and they just switched my file to the reviewed (hold) pile maybe 2-3 days ago, so I believe they are just moving through linearly. They should reach the 25th soon. I was upset by the hold because I absolutely love Loyola, but it was complimented with an interview invite (at another school high on my list) very shortly after. It was a bittersweet day to say the least lol.

It looks like a lot of people from the the hold list were accepted last year, so I am not giving up yet.:luck:

Good Luck!

I have my interview here on Monday; I'm super excited!! How long after the interview should I expect to hear a decision? Wish me luck!

I was told the next admissions meeting is 10/31 and notifications would sent out soon after that. You may or may not make the cut off for that date though. Good luck! Loyola is an amazing place.

Been "Under Review with the Admissions committee" since early September....is this a death sentence? Not sure what to think about this...

may i ask if your status went directly to interview or did you get the hold message first ?

so it seems that either people are " under review " or reviewed and put on hold ? which one is better ? Or i should say more promising ?

I've been pending further review for the longest time.

I have the same hold message: "Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in mid-April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail".

Hoping this isn't an eventual rejection. IS and top choice.

What determines the cut off? Jw because I have an interview date close to the 10/31 admissions date

Straight to interview, no hold message.

The admissions folks mentioned that my interview day (the 24th) would be looked at in early November, so I'd imagine that if you're interviewing after that, you'd also miss that Oct 31 date. Oh well!

I really enjoyed my time at Stritch. Students, faculty, facilities, everything is awesome. Good luck!

Why am I still not complete? It's been over a month since I submitted.

Are you waiting for an official email? Loyola doesn't send out emails. You just need to be monitoring your status online. If you have them, I would call them and inquire as to the status of your application

I know that. I keep monitoring my status and it's still not complete. I should call them.

Thanks! Hope we get some positive news soon, from the looks of it, there are lots of people in the re-review boat!

yah.. from what the admissions guy told me, it seems that 75 % of applicants get thrown into the re - review status, i think they are trying to get the dazzlers right now, MCAT greater than 32 , if we hear anything it probably wont be until beginning of the year, good things is we made two cuts, first is secondary cut and second the review cut, if they wanted to reject us it would have already happened, lets hope the people that apply late are not dazzlers too otherwise we might be in trouble.. overall no rejection better than being rejected cuz we would not be having this conversation.. you apply to any other place in chicago ? im complete everywhere except U of Chicago.. uic still says.. " application in process" whatever that means.

So im a little confused as to what peoples hold messages are? Are they all the same or are some different? My message has been "Your file is complete and pending further review by our Committee on Admissions. If you are granted an interview you will be contacted by phone and/or email. Our interview season is September thru April and your file can be reviewed several times during this time." since Aug. is this a hold or they just haven't gotten to my file yet? The "further review" phrase is confusing.

Thats a hold message. I've had it too for a while 🙁

I feel like that's not actually a hold status. I think I had that for a while, and then it changed to this:

"Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in mid-April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail. "

This one sounds more like a hold status than the "your file is complete" one 🙁

Thats so weird, because i had the status that you've mentioned before i got the "further review" status, so thats why i thought it meant that I was put on hold!

hhmmm... Maybe I'm misremembering, but I really thought I had the "further review" status before it changed to the "has been reviewed" status a couple months later.

So you guys see my point, very confusing. Its like a cryptic message. Im fairly certain that this is the only status I have had unless I for some reason never saw the other one.

I definitely had both, but it changed in 1 day.

Good luck everyone else!
