Well snuke, you don't know us on facebook yet...but the second part applies. Although then we would be like 1/11 of the class right there haha

So, is it correct to assume that if we receive a ranked email before 10/14, we will likely be contacted about our status on 10/17 or very close to it?

This is a representation of how Mayo has made me neurotic:
I switched phone numbers with my mother after submitting my AMCAS. I don't really want to bother with re-submitting with updated contact info, but the week of 10/15, I'm carrying around my phone AND hers...just in case. To be fair, she doesn't use her phone at all anyway, but still... 😛
I arrive in Rochester 4 pm this thursday! Anyone else gonna be there then? Or at the interview on friday? Let me know if you want to meet up!
From what I understand, the first interviewer gives us a score and the second one defends our application to the committee. Does anyone have anymore info on what the second interviewer does?
Was anyone there on 9/19?
Hi everyone, I was hoping to get some advice on my situation. I got the fee received e-mail from Mayo on August 26th and haven't heard from them since. It's been about 6 weeks.
I have a strong relationship with Mayo, having been a patient and a research intern there, which is evident in my application. I have also been doing well this cycle with 11 interview invites, several at top 20 schools. I know that Mayo is one of the most selective schools in the country and that my chances (like anyone else's) of getting in are extremely low, but I'm disappointed that I haven't received an LOR request. Especially because I think my LOR were one of the strongest parts of my application.
Do you guys think it would be alright to e-mail or call the admissions office and ask about my application status?

I'm in the same boat (I got the fee received email on Aug 16th). I'm waiting till next Monday before shooting an email to the admissions office
10-12does anyone know how many people are in each interview group?
rejected.
Getting pumped (but also nervous) about my interview Monday...it's so surreal- I still can't believe I was invited here! Can't wait to really see what Mayo is all about in person! 🙂 Anyone else on Monday?
I received my fee confirmation on 9/12, and haven't heard anything since. I know Mayo only interviews until december, so does this mean I should give up on this school?

rejected... 🙁
Is there someone in admissions I can call to ask where my application wasn't strong enough? All I can find are the assistant dean/associate dean phone numbers, but that doesn't seem to right people to ask. Help...? 🙁
With all the rejections on here I am getting super nervous it has been 3.5 weeks since my LOR request. I want to hear good news! Anyone get an interview invite that went beyond their 3 week estimation for the review? 🙁
I didn't see anything about 3 weeks in the LOR request or LOR received... Where did it say 3 weeks for review?
It said it would take up to three weeks in the LOR received email, right above sincerely. Something along the lines of "you will be notified as soon as the review is completed...the review can take up to three weeks." Am I the only one 😕?
For those of you that have interviewed... did your interviewers give you any sort of indication of what they thought of you/ what your chances are?
Maybe Mayo is trying to mess with us... I save all the emails I get from schools so I still have mine and it doesn't give a timeline: just, you will be notified when your review is complete. I don't know if the different wording means anything. If anything, it probably isn't a good sign for me🙁
Oh well, the way I see it, we just have to wait a little longer. Mayo is one of the few schools that (IMHO) respects applicants by sending timely decisions. We will hear from them soon...
So I'm flying to Minnesota tomorrow from the northeast. I'm actually from Florida so I was really worried about the weather at Mayo so I have my sweaters and winter coat, gloves, scarf (it was 40ish when I was in NY for an interview a couple of days ago and needed them).
Come to find out, the temp tomorrow is a high of 83 and a high of 77 on interview day...how crazy and not representative is that?? If I get in, I'm gonna have to come back for a visit in the real winter to make sure I can tolerate it haha
For those who have gone, is there something available the night before to meet other students/interviewers? I'm staying with a student host.
I feel like that's really rare... typically they don't give any indication of whether or not they think you'll get accepted... right?I am asking because a friend of mine goes to Mayo, and she said that at the end of one of her interviews, the doctor basically said "you have nothing to worry about"... so I was wondering if that is a relatively common response or if she just dominated the interview
If what the poster said was true, it is obvious that it was just what it appears - something said [likely at the end of the interview] casually by the interviewer.
So in that sense, it is probably rare - unless every applicant has that same interviewer and ends the session by asking some line of "how they did/will they get in?"
My understanding is that there is a vote based off your app, your interview, your diversity, ect. ect. So even if the Dr. loved this particular student but others on the committee did not, they are still open to not get selected.
I try not to think about these things because they are out of our control, and I am happy my interviewer did not say that to me. If they did and I was put on hold or rejected, I would cry many tears.

Oh, let one slip through the cracks? 😉
👍I want this school so bad.[/B]

Neuroticism is beginning to creep up again, now that the 17th is only 8 days away.
