I dunno. Will they send a packet explaining the interview process and all accommodations? I heard other schools did.
I might drive to Phoenix since I live in California, but not sure if my car can handle 6hrs of 100 degree desert 😀

I didn't apply to many schools last year (like 12) and applied to too many high-tiered schools the year before (all top 50). I didn't know anything back then and just applied, but now I did a lot of research on schools and studied the process, and I guess third times the charm 🙂

My bad. I read it as 3.83 in a moment of dyslexia. :smack:
 
I have not received an II. However when I go on line and log in to my account I have a link (which was not there before) which states "Schedule and Interview". But when i click on it, it does not work, which was also the case originally with my secondary.

Does everybody else who did not get a notification about the interview invite have the same link on their website? Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

I haven't submitted my secondary yet and I have the same link. It doesn't mean anything.
 
Interviewing 9/19! Definitely believe all the auto-invite talk. App Complete e-mail at 11:13AM on 8/18 and interview invite at 12:05PM on the same day. See some of you on 9/19!
 
Does anyone know their accepted/interviewed ratio?

I've seen that chart, and I am pretty sure that the "accepted" column is actually "matriculated". If you notice, there are 48 total students in that column; however, Phoenix's class size was 48 last year. Therefore, they definitely accepted more than what you see in that column. I estimate that the ratio is more like 1:4.

yes good point. I hope you are right. I would be delighted if I had a 1 in 4 chance of getting accepted at PHX!!! btw, congrats on your interview at Loyola and good luck! We're applying at a few common schools, so maybe I'll be seeing you in anatomy lab 🙂

We're definitely potential classmates. I remember you from our MCAT thread; if I remember correctly, you blew the test out of the water. You're going to do great!

Anyways, I'm not positive about the 1:4 thing, but I am certainly positive that the column represents matriculated students rather than accepted students.

Great workshop today - Admissions did a good job explaining the whole MMI interview process and what we need to emphasize during the interviews. 7 schools already use MMI, Oregon & Tucson are switching to it this year, and Michigan & Michigan State are looking to switch in the future. Personally, I think this process puts the candidates on a more level playing field since you're being interviewed by 10 different people and the same 10 people as everyone else on your interview day-

Loved the campus, everyone is really friendly and easy to talk to, and the admissions committee is extremely transparent, which isn't the case at a lot of other schools. PM me if you have specific questions about the process/details they gave us.
 
Hi guys, there is no student hosting as far as I know and yes, you will have to book a hotel if you are OOS.
 
Received a complete email Monday and was offered an interview today. I wonder if they even read my secondary (not that I'm complaining). Guess it helps to be in-state.
 
I'm pretty sure both UofA campuses auto-invite in-state students with certain GPA's and MCAT scores. That's why they interview such a large percentage of students that apply in-state.

Do you mind summarizing what they said for what to emphasize? Im IS but currently OOS haha. Invite this morning. =)
 
Sweet, II this morning, hopefully I'll see some of you guys on 10/3.
 
So I got the e-mail saying I was complete 8/24 (that they had recieved my fee, picture, etc), but when I logged on to look at my status this morining it said that my application was incomplete.

I'm confused.

Should I call into the office on Moday and see what's going on?

Admissions is friendly at Phoenix so I wouldn't stress thinking to call them or not. if you can't get hold of them for some reason you can always email Wendy, she gets back to emails pretty quick during the week. ([email protected])

Is the website up to date? I got the complete email and an interview invite, but I never checked the site. It might not be up to date.

In any case, they may be backlogged; I would give them another 1-2 business days before calling to ask that.

I'm a little behind most of you guys because I was waiting on my AMCAS to be verified. But, I got the secondary today, and I'm pumped.

Can't wait to get started. . .
 
Almost done with this beast, just procrastinating on SDN cuz I cannot figure out what to write for the last question on what I want to make sure the school knows about me. Lol my app is pretty thorough, especially when you add all the essay questions on this secondary. I feel like I've hit on everything, and I don't wanna look like a fool repeating myself.

Got the secondary too today...same as you OOS. At least it is my last secondary. Will feel good to be done.
 
So much for this IS auto-invite stuff. Have a 3.4GPA, 35 MCAT and have heard nothing.

You mean for secondary or interview? I believe they were talking about IS with high stats receiving auto-secondaries. Not sure whether they auto-invite high stats IS applicants for interviews.
Just wait patiently and with nice stats and essays, you will get your chance :luck:

I head that they do auto invite high stat IS applicants.
 
Ya I was talking about the interview - somewhere I read anything greater than 3.0 and 30 IS gets auto interview

youll still probably get an interview with those stats, especially in-state. when did you submit your secondary? it takes a while to process especially since they are flooded with applications at the moment. sit tight for a bit and itll come.
 
Editing because I think my information was incorrect. I thought they told us they'd interview IS as long as we met their minimum MCAT cutoff, but that must have been to receive the secondary. They do interview a lot of the IS applicants, but the 2011 season results on the website show fewer interviews than years past.

I'm sure with your stats though you will get an invite.

Hey guys, just got an interview today. I submitted this application after UofA Tucson's. I'm instate. I don't think my stats are too hot though. 3.7 gpa and 30Q on MCAT. However I belive they may autoinvite because I received two emails today. One saying that my secondary application was complete and the other inviting me to an interview. I don't even know if they read my secondary, HA! However I am excited and will be there Oct 17th! Good Luck Everyone.
 
hey everyone, OSS interview!
I actually had a few questions for those who have interviewed. I am an OSS interviewing on oct 10.

1. can you please recommend a few reasonable hotels that i could stay at. do any provide shuttle service from the airport to the hotel? and possibly to the school? if not, please let me know which hotel is the best deal.

2. if anyone wants to split a room the night before the interview, I'm down for that. I'm a college guy from Texas

I found a lot of nice hotels in the area in the ~$100 range, though I don't know what qualifies as "reasonable." The airport looks reasonably close to the school, and most major airport hotels will have shuttles to/from the airport.
