anyone been to the diversity day interview?
What do people wear on the first day? Suit and tie? or just polo and khakis?

I'm going business casual for day 1 followed by a suit for day 2.

Submitted to AMCAS in early August.
Verified 9/16; received secondary this day too.
Secondary to Cinci submitted 9/20.
Interview invite received 10/13.
Interview on 11/1.
Accepted on 11/10.

Much earlier than I was expecting to hear...but man, is it a weight off my shoulders. Congrats to everybody else who has found out in recent days! If you haven't heard anything or are on the alternate list, keep the faith.

RE Update Ltr: I'd only send one if you've had significant additions/accomplishments since submitting your AMCAS (or if you interview and you're notifed that you've been waitlisted).

I had been wondering this too. I saw some pictures of the DID dinner a couple years ago and everyone was wearing business casual, like khakis and a nice top or sweater.

Is Cinci a silent rejection school? Sorry if this was asked before, but haven't noticed anyone rejected pre-interview yet
 
Does UCinn have student hosting? If not, can anybody tell me of hotels they stayed in that were reasonably priced? Sorry if this question has been answered before.

Thanks. I need all the words of encouragement I can get at this point. But my perspective is more of a "don't get your hopes up" and avoid falling hard than a Nietzsche "FTW, burn it down" hopelessness.😉
 
I just sent them a letter of interest..they have been very quiet..i really really hope for an II form them..!

Re-reading the confirmation e-mail, I'm a little confused about when/where we are supposed to report on Monday. Do we go to the hotel first? We have to be at the school at noon, but the email says something about our agenda being at the hotel when we check in.

Business casual looks about right for day 1. Day 2 is formal wear obviously.

I plan on going to the hotel to park my car, check in, get my agenda, and then go to room 5051 on Monday by noon.

According to Interview Feedback, it seems like there may be some application questions sprinkled throughout (i.e. clinical experiences), but mostly ethical questions and scenarios. I'm a bit nervous for MMI, but everyone I've talked to who has been through it says it is not as bad as it sounds, and it was actually kind of fun!

I'm hoping I don't get this question: "If everyone died but you could pick three people (from a list), who and why?"

EDIT: The MMI was fun!! Don't prep, it won't help you. Just be yourself and go with it!

any more interview invites? State school for me and just sent them an update letter about a week ago! I really want an interview hereeee!
 
How important is the the application you have to complete with the interview invite? There is an essay that asks to include any other info, and I am not sure whether to take this as a cue to talk about my interest in UCinn or just leave it be? What did you guys do?

I don't think I wrote anything. I'm actually not sure about the purpose of those essay questions, since they told us that the interviewers know absolutely nothing about us. They don't even know your name until you get to the room, so I doubt they have the answers to your essays.

they don't see your essay answers, however, I would bet that the adcom does.

Should be later today, based on what they told us at Diversity Interview Day. They're reviewing the files of ~75% of us today and the rest wait for next Wednesday.

EDIT: I just got the email to check my status. Alternate list. Figures.

Does anyone know the cheapest means of transportation from CVG airport to the Eden Holmes Hotel? Thanks for your help.

If you are interviewing on Dec 9th and flying into CVG on Dec. 8th, PM me and maybe we can split transportation costs.

check with the hotel if they have shuttle service..if not then cabs are ur best option! good luck!
 
To accept an acceptance from Cincinnati, do we just have to accept it in the status page?
isn't there a deposit or something? or do we have to pay that after May 15th? I'm a little confused srry lol

Nah I have a 3.6 science 3.7 cum. A very respected school but not Ivy or anything. I just had lots of extra curriculars and medical experience and stuff. And I kind of liked the MMI cuz it suited my style more than just the traditional interview.

You are correct. We just accept on the status page. The dean mentioned on interview day that there is no deposit until after May 15!
 
Does anyone know how accomodating the Adcom is to leaving a little early? I just realized the interview day ends at 5pm and my flight is at 6.... So i was thinking i could leave at four? I assume they usually have the financial aid stuff at the end, which is probably irrelevant for me anyways. Also, anyone know how long it takes to get to the airport from UCinn?

If all interview days are like mine, the group is split up into thirds. Two thirds of the group come in at 9am and are done at 3pm, the last third comes in at 11am and leaves at 5pm. If you indicated that you are traveling 250+ miles on the day of your interview, you will be given an early interview time and you will be done at 3pm. Maybe call and make sure.

I believe it's about a half-hour drive to the airport in Kentucky.
 
Thanks so much! You saved me from making a huge blunder! I almost changed my ticket and it woulda cost me an extra $1200... The admissions office said i should be done by 3.
 
Does anyone know when they will come out with decisions for those who interviewed on Dec. 8th and 9th? I thought they said today at noon.
