I think wait list info is supposed to come out on the 16th. (i.e. tomorrow)

Hmm, I hope so! If I may ask, where did you hear this information?

A friend called them last week after getting his email. He was told that more detailed wait list info will be released on the 16th.

Okay, fantastic! Crossing my fingers for good news then. :xf:

I'm on the alternate list as well...

The email said the list wouldn't be out until April 16. Have any of you called and found out your rank or are they holding back that info until that date?

Thanks!

No, I haven't. In the email they made the font large, bold and underline so I figured I might as well wait.

I found the 2012 match list on their website and thought I would post it. Impressive match for plastic surgery, ENT, and derm as well as many other specialties. I am honestly torn between Missouri and Cincinnati COM at this point. I wish I could attend second look, but a flight from where I am currently located is over $1000.

Darn, I just realized I must have misinformed you. My buddy only said the 16th and didn't specify the month. Sorry about getting your hopes up for March 16.

Hahaha, it's all good. All a test of patience I suppose. 😛

Any idea if there's a Facebook group for class of 2016?

Anyone aware if they've started making offers to people on the wait list?

Good question. Didn't they say we'd find out where we are on the waiting list by the 16th?

Yeah, I just figured some people may have turned down their acceptances by now and opened up a few spots for people on the alternate list.

A friend of mine just got accepted on Tuesday!

Anyone else going to call their office today?

I called today and was told to reply to the original e-mail we got from them about being on the Alternate list in order to find out what third we are in.

I'm in the top third, which is exciting! Here's hoping for some quick movement!

Congrats to elon and emcda!

I got an email back and found out that I'm in the middle third. Ahhhhhh. :scared:

In case anyone is interested, here are the breakdowns for number of people accepted off WL in previous years.

Class of 2015: pulled 65
Class of 2014: missing data
Class of 2013 made it to at least #50 on the waitlist
Class of 2012 pulled 63
Class of 2011 pulled 54

Good luck to all! :xf:

EDIT: added 2015 data

Thanks Monocles! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're in the top of that middle!

Just got accepted off waitlist! was #2

Hello med students!! I will be a first year vet student at Mizzou next year and I thought I'd crash your party looking for a roommate? I don't want to live with a fellow vet student (at least first year) because we will be spending way too much time together as it is, but I figured a med student would be a safe bet because we'll both be studying a ton!

A little about me:

  • 23 yo, female, currently in STL but grew up in Kansas City/undergrad in Indiana
  • social but definitely don't do a lot of partying (at all) and plan on doing lots of studying next year, would like my roommate to be the same.
  • Don't smoke but wouldn't care if someone did it outside/away from my stuff
  • I have 1 very friendly, calm golden retriever and a quiet cat who sleeps 23.8 hours a day, so if you're looking to get your pet fix without the cost and responsibility this would be a great opportunity!
If any of this sounds appealing to you, PM me for more details!! Also, I requested to join your fb group so I post the same message, so could someone either confirm me or pass along me info via a post on the group message board. Thanks!! 😀

Pulled off the waitlist today!! 😀

Not sure where I was, but good luck to you Monocles! I'll keep my fingers crossed! :xf:

Congratulations! Do you plan to attend? I think Missouri is a unique school and if their financial aid package is similar to my other schools, I will likely be there next year.

Congrats elon0010! It seems like we're starting to have more movement in the waitlist now. 🙂

I do plan to attend. I really like the curriculum and have several friends who have graduated from the program with very positive experiences! As far as the financial aid goes, the starting price is a lot less than my other schools, so that's already a step in the right direction!

Has anyone received their financial aid package yet?

Nope, that's what I was waiting for also. Hope we receive it soon before May 15th so we can drop other acceptances comfortably!

I just got my financial aid package. How many of you are rejecting part of the cost of living loan?

I got the e-mail saying that my package was ready but nothing is displayed in myzou. Anyone else having this problem?

Congrats to all who have been recently accepted! : ) apparently, there has been a lot of movement so far on the list! Already close to the end of the first third! I am also in the middle third with you Monocles! Fingers crossed! Hopefully we will hear some good news soon!

What's the housing situation like? Is there a lot of overlap with the undergrad off-campus housing?

I found a place (Ashley Ridge Apartments) that doesn't allow undergraduates. Friends that are in medical school at Mizzou directed me to a few different locations, most of which are on the west side of campus. I believe that east of campus is where a majority of the undergrads are. Mizzou sends out an awesome housing packet once you've been accepted that has student reviews of all of the different apartment complexes.

Yeah, the housing packet is really helpful and gives you a good idea of what the apartment complex is actually like. Something you cant get from a tour, the internet or the complex staff telling you how great it is. Places on Ashland are nice to live in since you can easily walk to the hospital/class.

So, waitlist people, did you guys get a phone call or email when you were accepted off the list? I'm going out of the country in June and will not have my phone with me, so I'm thinking of calling the OME and letting them know to inform me by email if I get accepted, but I don't want to sound presumptive. 🙁

Just withdrew today. Goodluck to those still waiting!

I got a phone call from Alison Martin but after that, I received an e-mail. I would definitely tell them about your situation. I don't think it sounds overly confident it just makes you appear very interested in the school!

They've officially started pulling from the middle third. Good luck, friends. :xf: :luck:

That's great news Monocles! Thanks for the update! Good luck! Fingers crossed as well!

Not that I've heard of. Someone else please call, I'm sure their office is tired of me hahaha. 😀

Accepted off waitlist! Will be attending. 🙂

AspiringDoc I've got my fingers crossed for you! The list is moving fast based on my observations!

Thanks Monocles! : ) Guess it worked because I was just accepted off the waitlist as well and will be attending in the fall! Just have to scramble to find housing now!

Have you heard anything about popular housing options for medical students there yet?

Monocles and aspiring doc, what where your GPA and MCAT, may I ask? And were you MO residents?
