Alternate listed! Interviewed 1/17. I am so relieved, because the way they worded the first paragraph of the email made me so sure that it was a rejection; plus, I was the one who showed up 45 minutes late, so there's no reason I should have been expecting an acceptance. :laugh:

"Thank you for your application to the Keck School of Medicine. The Admissions Committee and I commend you for your exceptional application. Your academic achievements and extracurricular activities make you a strong candidate.


At this point in time, however, we are unable to offer you a place in the Keck Class of 2016. You have been placed on our alternate list, from which offers will be given at a later date."
 
Just got accepted! IS 4.0 34O interviewed 1/20. First acceptance.

Totally thought I bombed the interview. I think the faculty interviewer must have been intentionally trying to put me under pressure or something. He asked some pretty strange questions and looked very disappointed with every answer I gave. Just don't give up hope!

Keep your heads up everyone. It took a lot of praying and waiting for me to get my first acceptance, and now I can breathe a sigh of relief. The last 9 months have been so stressful that I cut my hair with a #1 clip to prevent myself from pulling it out.

Congrats to the both of you. Keck was also the first school that finally wiped away all of my anxiety. 🙂

Hey, for those of you who interviewed, I have a question for you. How long does it take the hsc shuttle to go from union station to its Eastlake and San Pablo stop? My hotel is in south Pasadena and I'm planning on taking the metro to union station to arrive at the hsc shuttle pick off location. A cab would cost 40 Plus compared to 1.50 with the metro. Thanks in advance.
 
AHHH ACCEPTED!!! Interviewed 1/18, IS.

Keck is my top choice, hands down. 😍 Family, friends all live less than ten minutes away. Looking forward to seeing some of you in the Fall 😀

I have a question for the current Keck students: do the older married students go through the student health insurance plan or go through a private plan? What are the pros/cons of each?

15-30 minutes, depending on which one you catch. They come every 30 minutes to Union Station, and some of them go to main campus before going to HSC, while others go straight to HSC.

Neither Evergrey nor I are married so I don't think we're the best sources... ask on the Facebook group for your class! Also, those of you that got accepted, join the Keck 2016 group! (so I can stalk you heh heh heh)

Maybe the last IIs have all been given to non-SDNers? Is that possible? Though I called on Friday afternoon and they said that they were still sending out interviews...

I think so. Only a fraction of applicants are on SDN. Some haven't heard of it and some just read through threads. That doesn't mean they're done handing them out though. At this stage, more people are likely to turn down interviews too so that might cause some movement and a delay in offers going out. Hope you all get some good news soon!

Called as well and was told that they don't know if any more interview invites were going to go out. They interview up to March 1st.

Hm, when did you call? Also, pretty sure the last day is 3/2 unless something has changed

I called today in the morning. I don't know what to think.
Does this mean that no more interview invites will go out?

How did you find out that 3/2 is the last day? Last year im pretty sure they went well into march. Idk I'm still trying to remain optimistic

How did the interview go for you? Mine is at the end of the month. Excited and nervous!
 
Considering that interviews are generally scheduled 2-3 weeks from the invite date, they're probably done sending them out. They've interviewed a ton of applicants and I personally know someone that got an invite for the very end of Feb about a week ago.

I thought it went well but I guess I won't know for a few weeks, lol. 🙂 That said, I loved the school!! Everyone was super chill and friendly, and LAC was just awesome. Lots of faculty members said hi and good luck to our group on the tour, which wasn't something I'd experienced on interviews before. The campus isn't in the best part of LA, but I stayed downtown (just a few miles from campus) and that's a fun, up-and-coming neighborhood. Oh, and their gross anatomy lab was seriously the most well-ventilated one I've been to haha. Good luck at your interview! I don't see how anyone could not love this school.

Thank you! It's awesome that you got to see LAC. Didn't know the tour went through there. Did admissions say anything about how many seats or offers are left?

I wish they would just reject us then instead of stinging us along like this. There's got to be some sort of law against this kind of torture 😛

We asked our tour guides to see LAC and there was enough time so they took us through. Admissions didn't mention how many spots they had available, but our tour guides said plenty of people from their class who interviewed later in the season were accepted. Thanks for the well wishes, enjoy your interview !

The latest tweets did say the last interview date is March 2nd. I'm still hoping they have one spot left open for meeeee :luck:

That has to be it. I'd guess we've all been on an unofficial interview waitlist for a while, and as people cancel interviews, some of us have gotten their places. That's probably why invites have been kinda sporadic. Anyway, congrats citrusguy... I'm so jealous!
 
Just received pre-interview rejection e-mail.
 
Oh well. East Coast here I come. I will remember this however.
 
Wow still no rejection, still no interview. Complete in July. What is going on!?
