Same. I kind of wrote Keck off a few weeks ago after not hearing anything and finding out how few interviews they give out, so it wasn't a big surprise.

Not rejected yet, I guess I'll wait more... Or is there any hope of an extra interview day? 🙁
 
good luck to everyone interviewing tomorrow. any insights from those who have interviewed on how many people, structure of the interviews and the day, etc?
 
Well finally got the axe, it's about time though. Interview for MD/PhD last year and nothing this year. At least no more waiting
 
For the people who interviewed recently....GOOD LUCK! I know how grueling the wait can be! But, Keck is amazing and releases decisions pretty quickly..I received my acceptance exactly 2 weeks after my interview! Be patient! Everything works out in the end! 🙄

When did you interview? I interviewed a couple weeks ago and have been really antsy so far waiting to hear back : /
 
Is there anyone here that still hasn't been rejected or offered an interview yet? This doesn't make any sense if the last day of interviews are tomorrow. Maybe there's a secret extra interview day that they're not telling us about?

I'm in the same boat... Oh well! I really like USC's program though so maybe I'll just keep the hope alive?! 🙂

Hello fellow Thousand Oaksian! (I wonder if I know you..? if you went to TOHS then I probably do). Interview day depends on if you are session one or session two. Here are some posts from this thread to answer your question:

Overall the day is very low stress and the majority of interviews seem to be low stress as well. :luck:

Last day of interviews was today. Sorry, but if you haven't heard anything, you can officially cross this one off the list. Just trying to help those who have been in limbo...

Hey..I interviewed the first week of February and heard back exactly 2 weeks later!
 
Can someone please post a recent match list for Keck? I can't seem to find one.

I've had a hard time finding it but apparently it won't tell you much. Matching well depends largely on your effort in studying and doing the things you need to do to get what you want. People match into everything every year anyway. If you're picking between Keck and another school, cost/location/fit/etc might be better factors.
 
they had a match list at the interview day... maybe if you email the admissions, they can send you a copy

I saw on last year's thread that someone waitlisted in the Fall was accepted in late March. I wonder how many of us are waitlisted this year and do they have some kind of secret ranking they won't tell us about? 😕 I'd like to know my chances.
 
Finally got my rejection email. Still sad about that though 🙁
 
General question, how does USC typically respond to update letters? I interviewed back in February and I haven't heard heads or tails. I'm submitting an abstract in the next few days and I figured it can't hurt to let the admissions dept. know? What's the general protocol for this sort of thing?
 
Rejected yesterday...can't say I didn't know it was coming, but this one hurt the most. Congrats to everyone who got in, it's a fantastic state and school and you are very fortunate!
 
Did anyone get their USC ID yet for the supplemental form?
 
I think it's about time that some of you Feb people might be getting decisions soon...good luck!

I actually haven't looked at or filled them out yet :/ I just know that I have my ID when I get around to doing it... haha. I guess I should probably get on that.

they told us on interview day that unless you're getting published in science/nature or getting a nobel prize, you don't need to update them

I just heard this yesterday. I didn't want to believe it... What are the chances I can come up with something Nobel-worthy in the next few months? 😉

who'd you ask? they didn't say anything when i asked during my interview day
 
Actually, I talked to the admissions office and they said they welcome update letters. I asked at the interview and twice post-interview (over the phone).

They'll take the letters but from what I understood (and velleityx can confirm) is that they have to be really really impressive updates in order to improve your standing post-review. It doesn't make much sense to me, seeing as the waitlist is some unranked pile.
 
yeah the dean of admissions told us at our info session on that day because someone asked about post-interview updates. i'm sure it won't hurt you to send one, but i don't think it'll really help you either.

all of us feb people are anxiously waiting!!!! ^_^
 
Does anyone know what day orientation starts?
 
got an email from keck today...saying that they got my update letter...for a second time

definitely thought it was another kind of email

I e-mailed admission about this. Here's their response - hope it answers your question!

Dear Dennisdamenace,

The first day of class/orientation is scheduled for August 13, 2012. Historically,
the White Coat Ceremony has been held on the Friday afternoon of that week. However,
we do not have a confirmed date yet.
