I asked the same question. From what the other posters have replied, you most likely did not get a merit-based scholarship.

Just read on Keck twitter that the last day of interviews is March 2nd. Anyone know if all invites have been sent out? If so, I am really sad and disappointed that I wasn't one of them. USC has been my top choice from the beginning 🙁

I think if all the dates were filled, then more of us would have been rejected by now. Don't lose hope just yet!
 
Does anyone know the admissions statistics for Keck? I guess things could be different this year since Dr. Arias is now running admissions...
 
I called the admission's office and they told me interviews were still sent out this month of February and that March 2nd is the last day for interviews.
I am hoping I get an interview invite.
 
They tweeted several things about interview invites but nothing about when the next acceptances will go out.... Has anyone called recently to find out?
 
Do you all think that most pre-interview rejections are yet to go out? Or is no news good news at this point...?

The last few tweets:

"The last day of MD admissions interviews is Fri. March 2nd. We look forward to meeting excellent candidates over the next few weeks!"
"Applicants: all interview invitations will be sent via email. If invited for an interview, you will receive an email from the adm office."
"For those not invited for interview, you will also receive an email from the adm office. Interview invites go out within the next few weeks"

Does anyone know how many people will be interviewed this cycle? And what odds of acceptance might be after interview? Thank you!
 
What do you guys think: if we haven't heard by now for an interview, does it mean they're interested or does it mean they haven't looked at your file yet? I like to think the former.

Edit: just read the post above. I was just hoping it meant an II!

Applicants 3509; Interviewed 318 -9%; Accepted 227 -71%; Enrolled 125 – 55%

Judging by the MSAR, these numbers appear to be for IS applicants only. Are there acceptance numbers for OOS somewhere?

OOS numbers would be a huge help!

And MSAR gives only matriculated data, right? I've seen two old editions and neither reported accepted numbers.

Edit: Some website online (medschoolsinusa? or something similar) offered 2008 stats. If around 600 people get interviews and 350-ish get accepted (with 225 being IS), then OOS odds are 125/300ish. I guess the acceptance rate is not as high for OOS people, although 50% isn't all that bad. It may not even make a difference because USC is private...

I like stats. 😀

I'm hoping that means there will be a significant amount in the next week or two, to fill up the last interview days. I'm sure they wouldn't lie on their twitter. Still, it's not looking good for me... +pity+
 
Got rejected by email just now. Complete mid September
 
I submitted and was complete mid-August and still haven't heard anything at all. Do you think it's a good idea to send a LOI?

They are adamant about not accepting any kind of update, LOI, or anything, at least not pre-interview.
 
Thanks. Yeah I just called the admissions office and they confirmed that they will not accept LOI pre-interview.

They also said they are interviewing until March 2nd and will be sending out status updates to applicants within the next couple of weeks.
 
As a matter of convenience I wish so much to interview here, at this school...and I suspect that their program and facilities are excellent, I pass near there sometimes and their campus is lovely...good luck everybody!

I got one mid to late January and there were Feb 21, 28, 29, March 2 available. That may have changed already. I also can't see the calendar anymore.
 
Rejected today via email. Pre-interview. Complete some time in october.

Apologies for confusion. I was referencing the twitter message for the upcoming IIs tht will go out in the next weeks. I was trying to confirm my understanding of the message.

I dont think IIs went out today as no one has posted yet.

It looks like they're finally getting to the later complete dates. I was complete in November so I probably still have some waiting to do.

Keep your heads up everyone. It took a lot of praying and waiting for me to get my first acceptance, and now I can breathe a sigh of relief. The last 9 months have been so stressful that I cut my hair with a #1 clip to prevent myself from pulling it out.

Did a bunch of acceptances go out today? I interviewed around that time but didn't hear back today...I hope that doesn't mean rejection or waitlist :|
