Does anyone know how long it takes the admissions committee to turn around an application after an interview? I had heard somewhere that they actually get it done as quickly as Thursday following your interview? Has anyone pre-matched within a week of interviewing? I just interviewed today, and I am guessing there are not many available pre-match spots.

Thanks everyone.

I interviwed 11/12. Pre-matched 11/23. Not quite a week, almost two.

Are the lectures full day or half day?

do they offer access to the previous year's videos? I know they said a stream is available a few hrs later.

I interviewed 11/5, prematched 11/15

Haha. Don't worry, I was that guy at El Paso and Galveston.

My interviews here were very nice though. My first was with an orthopedic surgeon and we just talked about running for 30 minutes.

^^ Always comforting hearing stories of odd interviews for other people. Mine was at UTH- thought immediately after "Definitely not getting in here now." lol. I loved SW too, though. Know it's a long shot but it'd be nice hearing they loved me back.

i had a tough one and got in so.. never know!

don't worry. i thought i had the worst interview EVER at some schools, but it worked out okay. otoh, i had an int that i thought went great and was WL (oos school).

Same for me at UTH. Maybe getting upset and giving the interviewer a talking to also didn't help me. 😱
I thought my El Paso interviews were great, but didn't get an offer. I thought my UTMB and UTSW interviews were so-so, and got pre-match offers. Go figure.

I also had an orthopedic surgeon so it is probably the same one, but mine only last like 10-15 min 😕:scared: I do agree that he was nice though.

So I interviewed on 12/3 but my Friday programs are not until 01/06 and 01/13 next year. Anyone else in the same situation?

Also, does that mean I won't probably hear anything from them until I finished my Friday programs?

Like I said in previous post, one of my interviews were kind of short so I am trying to not get my hope high but I've fallen in love with UTSW for the past four years so please wish me luck :xf::xf::xf::xf::xf:

Obviously I don't KNOW, but I would say the Friday programs would have no bearing on when you get accepted. They are just for your benefit, no one is evaluating you. In fact, if it's a long drive and you are set on the school you don't even need to come. If you are still deciding or it's easy for you to get here then it's a good idea to go because you get more info to help with your decision.

If you get accepted, do you just find out through email? Or do you find out first on their status page? or on TMDSAS? I don't know which way to check neurotically haha

You should receive an email + your status page should update.

I have yet to have an interview day where I didn't completely bomb one of my interviews.

Same here. Don't worry guys, it's very hard to predict what kind of evaluation your interviewer is going to give even if in your head it's the worst possible interview you ever had.

First, good luck. Second, the friday programs are not required, they are just for your benefit so you can get to see the hustle and bustle of UTSW life on a weekday. A lot of people i interviewed didn't actually do the friday programs. Some just did the morning rounds others did only the afternoon info session

Thank you for the responses. I live in the area so I don't mind to participate. Actually, I love being there so I am looking forward to it 😀.

Is there anyone else going to be there on 01/6 and 01/13?

I'll be there 01/06 and 01/07... My interview is on the 7th.

Hm, who would be the best to send a Thank You Letter to, do y'all think? I just interviewed on Saturday, and want to express my undying love for UTSW. I was going to send it to the general admissions email, but perhaps there is a particular person/Dean/etc I should send it to instead?

I would send it to Mrs McLane. She is our Liaison to the adcom. How she answers all our emails and works as hard as she does on interview days while maintaining an angelic demeanor I'll never know.

When would be the time to send a post-interview update letter to Southwestern or any of the other Texas schools?

nmed20 -- Same. 1/6 and 1/7. Had pretty much counted on not hearing from UTSW so this is great. See you there!

So during the Winter Break is when most people do it? I really want to put forth all the effort I can so that I can know that in the end I gave it my all in trying to get into my top choice schools.

the idea is you want to have done something interesting since they last saw you...so for most people that means good grades!

Yeah that makes sense. Should I also mention future activities that I plan to do next semester? An organization I co-founded at my university is leading an international service trip during Spring Break of next year. I was thinking about sending an update letter with my grades for the Fall as well as more details about this trip. If I do not hear a response I was planning to send a final letter after Spring Break. Is that a reasonable plan?

I would say to err on not putting what you plan to do....because it's like putting volunteer hours you plan to get but you don't have yet...you know?

Put what you did. Send a letter. Celebrate that you got in somewhere!

Thanks for the update, it does look like it's about a two week wait post Nov 15th on pre-match. That makes sense because they will finish right before Christmas so they can have a vacation. Guess I will have to sit on my thumbs and try not to go crazy for another week!

Anyone else still waiting to hear back from UTSW admissions after mailing back the acceptance form?

I heard back earlier this week. If you're worried, just contact Anne McLane. She can check to see if your letter has arrived there or not.

What are the different post-interview statuses? Mine just says "interviewed" - are there any other different ones? : \

Weird. Mine says full tuition + $20k/year stipend. I just interviewed last Saturday too.
