I'm OOS and looking to book flights to Toledo. For those of you that have interviewed, would you say that it's best to fly into Detroit and then drive down to Toledo or to fly into Toledo with the hefty ticket price and shuttle to the campus?

I flew into Detroit. The tickets were outrageous flying into Toledo. I rented a car and it was much cheaper. If you have one of the later interviews plan on staying until after 3:30 I think. My interviewer and I ran over about 30 minutes. I think it is about a 45 minute drive. There was not any traffic. It is not too bad. I was rushing, but my flight left at 6 pm. If you can get a later flight going home, I would recommend it. You won't know what time your second interview is until you get there that day. Good luck!

Just got emails about Coast to host, Meet and Greet and other things about 2 hours ago. I feel that this was a bit too late..Also, anyone else going to meet and greet the night before?

The meet and greet was great when I went. The students were really nice and made me feel very comfortable before my interview. I would recommend attending. It is not anything formal at all. Plus, you get to ask them all the tough questions that you probably will not be able to ask on your interview day.

Not to be a Debbie Downer or anything but when I went to my interview on March 5th the assistant dean told everyone that we are basically being interviewed for the wait list. He mentioned that the whole class has been filled up, however, their wait list IS ranked and he also informed us that at least the top 1/3rd of the wait list will be offered a spot in May-June. So if anyone gets an "alternate list" decision do not lose hope 🙂

He mentioned that the whole class has been filled up, however, their wait list IS ranked and he also informed us that at least the top 1/3rd of the wait list will be offered a spot in May-June. So if anyone gets an "alternate list" decision do not lose hope 🙂

This may be true, but I interviewed on the first of March and was offered a spot today. So good luck to the rest of you still waiting!

Interviewed 2/23. OOS. Got accepted yesterday via email. Regular mail to follow. So excited. Second acceptance this cycle but will likely be attending Toledo. Geat awesome school. Hope you hear some good news too.

Just got an interview invite today and probably will decline, so there is hope for interviews! But the season is pretty much over: "Interviews will take place on the UT Health Science Campus, 3025 Library Circle, Toledo, Ohio on Mondays and Thursdays through mid-April"

Hang in there. It can take about a month from the end of the interview for you to be notified that you are accepted.

eagerly waiting for the month to end! I interviewed on march 29th and we discussed if this was only for a waitlist or not..i looked through the last year's thread and people were still being accepted until late april/early may! good luck to those of us who are waiting!

I specifically asked the woman who schedules interviews about these "waitlist" rumors. She said that what I have heard (which stemmed from SDN) are just rumors and that there are still openings in the class. She said that the reason the interview season has extended so late is because of a staff change which took place in admissions, which I had already heard about. I am not trying to be contentious to those who have asserted that the whole class is filled or that interviewing is just for a waitlist spot, but rather a source of hope to others like me who are still interviewing.

I was successful with e-mailing Kris Peterson but it took a few days at times (I think mostly because of the holiday this past week).

Congratulations!!!

After my interview, I went to the assistant Dean's office to ask about MD/MPH and got a sneak peak at their adcom meetings. They are every Wednesday this month: 4, 11, 18, 25th April. I would guess that on 4th April, they would discuss the interviewees from the first week of March and so on. Dont quote me on this, this is my guess.

By Toledo airport, I'm assuming you mean the Toledo Express airport; If that's the case, I'm not sure what it would cost you for a cab (surely it'd depend on where you're headed) but I do believe that the Toledo Hilton (on the campus of the medical schoool) offers a free shuttle to/from the airport.

Detroit is 50 mins away. You may just want to get a taxi (~100$ or rent a car)

I called admissions the other day to find out what was going on. Apparently people have been in and out of the office and they are behind on reviewing files.
I interviewed the 29th as well and my file is scheduled for review on May 8th.
