At my interview they said they would likely be meeting on Thursday the 13th. Has anyone heard anything from the ADCOM? Keeping my fingers crossed that they just haven't gotten calls out yet...

Haven't heard back yet either.. maybe they haven't released decisions yet?

I wonder if its worthwhile to call?

They said it might take until the 18th so I guess we can wait it out. However, if you do decide to call, can you please let us know what they say? 🙂

Just got the call today!!! So excited to be a part of something so new and innovative for the state of Michigan!

If any of you are wondering I interviewed December 1st 🙂

And I agree with Smiletrain, never lose hope. It's not over till you get the rejection.

I just got the call as well! I'm incredibly excited to be part of CMU's inaugural class! Don't worry about not hearing back yet, they're still making the calls.

I got the acceptance call a little but ago, what a wonderful opportunity and at a fantastic school!!! Couldn't have been a better day to see the 989 area code. Congrats everyone who heard, and stay in the game those still waiting! I interviewed 12-1

I just got the call! So excited to be part of CMU's inaugural class and to finally be one step closer to becoming a doctor 🙂

Got the call after 5. Very excited right now. IS 33 Q 3.65 sci 3.8 overall u of m.

Hey during the call, they said we didn't have to do anything until we get an e-mail right? I was too excited, I think I missed some stuff that was said. But I remember during the interview we have 10 days to accept. Where do we do that?

Said we would get an email in a few days with instructions on how to accept, nothing is needed to be done until then, except celebrate! Also if you don't get an email in a week or so just call them, told me they sometimes have some tech mishaps

didn't get the call yet. guess I'm rejected.

No way! They only started making calls yesterday and are supposed to go through the 18th so you still have a good chance! Also, I think emails will go out for people who are waitlisted or on hold. They said they probably aren't rejecting anyone at this point. I hope good news is coming your way :luck:

Wait.. they already accepted 7 people on here.. and they interview like 70 per day (accept about 15% or so).. Hopefully they will accept more. Anyone know when emails go out?

I really like Central....hopefully I won't be getting the wait list/hold email

But now we have the weekend..I heard that they will still be making phone calls into the beginning of next week
Good Luck!

Just got in today as well!

Ill be seeing you all there!! So happy for you!

CONGRATS AND TAKE A BREATH!

are u in state or out of state? anyone OOS got the call yet?

The word on the street is....

...that there are 12 interview spots left for the last February date. I don't know about the first Feb. date or the January date.

...they are going to take more than 60. They have too many qualified applicants to take only 60.

Congrats to all that were accepted so far! I got a call from a 989 area code Thursday afternoon and got all excited. I was going to answer it, but my phone rang only twice. No voice-mail or anything. It was probably an odd coincidence. Well, hopefully I get an actual call next week.

Those that were accepted could you please share your stats and extra curricular activities.

Congrats to all of you getting acceptances. I hope there are still a good number of spots left by the time my interview comes in february. Those of you that have been there, did it seem like a campus that would be family friendly? I have two children and a spouse and have heard some schools are very family friendly and others not so much...

The city looked like a nice place to for kids. perhaps you can live in one of the outlying communities, I think rural Michigan would be an ideal place to raise a family.

In state
3.99 GPA
4.0 sGPA
28Q (8V,9BS,11PS)
Work part time at the campus Rec Center, volunteered abroad for 4 weeks, shadowed for 4 weeks, play softball at my college, tutoring/mentoring, a few other here and there volunteering/leadership positions/activities all mostly having to do with children.
From a rural Michigan area (I think this helped a lot).

*cry* waitlisted 🙁 I called them and they didn't know what they were going to do with wait list yet... I shouldn't have expected too much because I'm OOS 🙁

What was your major? My stats and extracurricular are almost identical to yours except a bit more clinical related volunteering. Although I am out of state rural not instate. My entire family grew up in Michigan and graduated from Ann Harbor and I would really like to be at CMED!

"After careful review of your application materials, the admissions review committee has decided to place your application on hold for further consideration. We will re-evaluate your application later in the admission cycle and communicate more information about your application status at that time"

What does that mean? How is it different from being waitlisted?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but being put on hold means the admissions committee may come back to your application after they have completed their interviews. It's different from being waitlisted because you will still need to appear before the admissions committee before you are granted an acceptance whereas being waitlisted means you may be automatically admitted if/when spots are available.

I, too, was placed on a hold status. I really liked CMED. Anybody know for sure what it means? Also, anyone outright accepted from the Dec. 8th interview group?

how are your stats? IS?

3.6 GPA, 3.6 Science GPA, MCAT: PS-10, BS-9, VS-7. I bombed verbal reasoning. :/ I'm In-State, I did CNA work for 2 years, and had a lot of community service. I know all my stats are on the fence but I was hoping Central or another small school would give me a chance. I sent an email to CMED asking their definition of what 'hold' meant in regards to being waitlisted. I'll update you when they reply.

Update*

"Thank you for your email. After interviewing, application status can change to one of the following: offer, waitlist or hold.
Waitlisted applications have already been reviewed by the Admissions Committee and offers can be made to those candidates without further review. Should additional positions become available, the Admissions Committee will then review applications from the candidates with a hold status."

My major is Integrative Physiology and Health Science. I go to a very small undergrad just 15 minutes south of Central. If you have strong ties to Michigan like you said then you probably still have a good chance of being one of those 20% out of staters because they really want people who will stay in Michigan.

So it's pretty much a rejection for us. I will withdraw my application tomorrow and save them some trouble.

Rejected today pre-interview 🙁 a little sad because I'm IS and sent a LOI about a month and a half ago. Complete since August. Good luck to everyone out there still waiting! 👍

Will be withdrawing my application, hopefully an SDNer gets my February interview! Good luck to everyone still in the running!

Can any one please tell me when is the deadline to submit the secondary application?
My MSAR subscription has just expired today !

Can anyone that interviewed in December confirm if the process was only MMI or if it was MMI plus a 30-minute individual interview (which the website briefly mentions once)? Thank you!

And congrats to everyone that was accepted!

Hi, I interviewed on 12/1 and it was just MMI. There was no 30-minute individual interview. Good luck! :luck:

Late to the game here, but does anyone know when the last interview date is supposed to be? I heard February, but that there's possibility they might extend to March-April?

Thanks a lot for the info! That'll really help me narrow down how I practice 🙂

I've been running through practice scenarios with a friend who also had an MMI elsewhere, and it got me thinking... is there any idea how many stations there are and how much time we have to read the prompt/answer the question? Or is that supposed to be a surprise?

When my friend interviewed, the email he received had all of this information, and also let him know that they are not to bring pen/paper.

If I remember correctly they do provide this information in an email you get about the interview invite... From my email "To learn more about the CMED Multiple Mini Interview Day program and to schedule your interview:

1. Log in: applymed.cmich.edu"

Try the website for the info they want you to know prior, due to a disclosure form I signed I don't want to give any info away I am not supposed to. Also try calling the office the staff is friendly I bet they can answer your questions. Good luck preparing!

I just got the interview confirmation email today with more information, which answered many of my questions. Thanks for the help!

Anyone who interviewed on the 11th have any updates from the interview day? Did they mention how the grading system will work? Or specifics about the graduate housing?

Grading system will be pass/fail. Curriculum is nearly wholly team-based learning, and therefore there is a huge emphasis on supporting one-another through peer-teaching and small group work. One of the longitudinal courses mentioned on the first page of this thread involves going out to clinical sites on a weekly basis and observing/shadowing different components of healthcare system (including billing, for example) to understand the big picture of how healthcare is run. This is part of the early clinical exposure.

Graduate housing is under construction at a nearby lot on campus (literally 2 min walk), which will offer housing for couples, 1 BR, 2/3 BR (my tour guide was not sure), and 4 BR, starts from $300+. There will be washer/dryer and all other needed appliances. I think she said that some of the units will also have furniture already in place, but at a higher price. In any case, it's still under construction, but looks to be a few months away from completion by what I saw from afar.

Thanks for the update! It's hard to find updates about the grad housing online. And I wasn't sure if the pricing I found was correct. Thanks for sharing!

I've been reading up on their website. Do you have to go into primary care after med school? I don't mind practicing in Michigan, but I don't want to be too far in the UP.

Not sure if anyone else here is complete and waiting, but I talked to admissions and their last two interview days (Jan 31st and Feb 9th) are completely full. If your file is currently under review and they decide to give you an interview invite, then you could be added to the cancellation list. If this is the case, you'll be contacted if someone cancels and they have an open interview spot.

Just thought I'd share.

At my interview, one of the faculty members said they want us to go into different specialties, not just primary care. I'm not too sure about having to practice in Michigan though.
