Congrats! Who was your interviewer?

MSTP applicant here. Got an email saying that my admissions decision was posted on the portal. I knew that accepted mud-phuds got letters in the mail, so I was pretty deflated logging in.

Result: Wait-listed to both the MSTP and MD programs 😕

Congrats to all receiving acceptances!

Looks like the Dean is calling for those interviewers who decided not to phone their interviewees. Not looking too great for those of us who have not received a call. I think now is the time that we should probably lower our expectations and attempt to move on. Too bad, too--Columbia is a great school and would have loved to attend there next year.

i agree but it's still so hard to let go of that small sliver of hope which is why i will continue to be neurotic for the rest of the day and generally unfit company for everyone

yes i think so, in my experience of med schools so far, they all leave a message, some tell you the good news outright in the voicemail, others tell you to call back

why are people getting so discouraged? esp if your interviewer doesn't make calls? dr. nicholas would be making many calls I'd imagine and there are still so many hours in the day.

if i may hazard a guess, i would say harvard hst is her first choice. hst is generally the first choice for anyone who applies to that program, and that is based on anecdotal evidence. i think columbia is a school she cares a lot about but most likely not first choice. anyways i don't know her so i'm putting words into her mouth. take it with a grain of salt.

yes columbia please tell me whether i'm waitlisted or rejected. i know it's irrational that it even matters at this point, but it does. i want closure. i don't want to stare at sdn, refresh my portal page, check and re-check emails.

i hope so, but at this point it seems very unlikely. a few days ago, mstp students got calls, and the waitlisted students had their portals updated today. there seems to be a few days' delay. don't know if that's the same with the md program

I've just been thinking that 75% of us are going to be either waitlisted or rejected. That's just the reality of it. I wish you all the best!!
