Are interviews over for Drexel?
Hello all
So I have a question for everyone. I interviewed here on jan 15 and still haven't heard anything. I have already sent a letter of interest already and am contemplating to send a letter of update soon. Would people recommend this? I was also thinking to send a letter of recommendation but all this additional information works in our favor or not. What do u guys think?
Interviewed jan.7th and my status changed today to "final decision reached"
Does anyone know Drexel's policy with stethoscopes? Buy our own or are we given one? Required brands/models?

Unless you're PIL. Then you need one first year, but not until Block 2. We learn the entire physical exam first year, as we have our primary care practicum at the end of first year. There are very few times during first year that you are required to use a stethoscope. When you do need one first year, one will either be provided or you can use your 4th year's. Go ahead and wait until you have had a chance to try different ones to see which one you like.
Interviewed 1/7 - final decision today
same here except just says decision reached
You're on the waitlist.
Gotta buy it, but no specific model -- I've seen cheap ones and nice ones and everything in between. You'll need a steth maybe twice as a 1st-year, but it's pretty much necessary for 2nd year onward. There are lots of long threads here on SDN about which models people prefer. I got the Welch Allyn Harvey Elite, and I've been very happy with it.
More controversial is the "requirement" to buy an otoscope and ophthalmoscope for 2nd year. The upperclassmen will variously tell you that you definitely don't need your own, or that they're practically essential to have. I'm somewhere in the middle, so I just got a cheap set. As long as you show up with them when they're required, the faculty don't care if they're begged/borrowed/stolen.

When can you sign up for a drexel email/web account? Just trying to find a way to see if I was accepted before the letter gets here.
The only way to find that out is through snail mail.
No way to try to sign up for a drexel account if you were accepted? Or does that happen after you matriculate
You can make an account once you're accepted. The instructions are in the acceptance packet though, and I don't have it anymore/can't remember how to do it 🙁 Sorry!
I called the Drexel admissions office and they said a "final decision" or "decision" does not mean a rejection, acceptance, or waitlist.
anyone get an update today? going on 12 weeks post interview..
interview 1/14
+1 My interview was 1/17. How many people are waiting from that date?
im still waiting too... i interviewed 1/10. although i had a friend who interviewed in february and he got a "final decision" status change on monday. im not sure how they go about making decisions
post interview rejection by mail today. oh well next year
My status online changed to "A decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to a preferred address" today. Does this mean I have to wait for snail mail to find out I'm waitlisted? Will I not get an email? 😕
Ahh, the wait continues. Thanks sbuxaddict! Hopefully we will be classmates soon 🙂Yup, unfortunately it's snail mail.
also a 1/17 interviewer, or maybe 1/16, haha i forget. not even at committee yet. this is by far the longest post interview i've waited for a decision.
Interviewed 1/7
Final decision 4/3
Accepted 😀
How is Drexel in terms of financial aid?
They are, but common advice is to wait until you get a post-interview response. If you were going to get rejected, a LOI won't change that.
Yeah going on 15 weeks post interview tomorrow. I just really hope its worth it
