Hey ya'll, I'm an OoSer that interviewed on 11/7/12..anyone else in that boat? Is it possible they reviewed any of those interviewees last week?

I interviewed on the 7th as well. I am IS and a reapplicant, so our situations are different. But my interviewer told me the absolute earliest I should expect to be reviewed is December, but January or February is more likely.

And of course stats and chance play a big role into when you get reviewed with IU, but he made it seem like with our interview group at least November would be very unlikely.

Yeah, it's unlikely you'd hear back in 1 week. I'd say December is more likely.

ACCEPTED OOS !!!!!!!! Just received the letter in the mail. This is my second one for the cycle. I am very excited. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I interviewed on Sept. 12th and just received the letter.

Good luck to every one waiting. I know how painful this wait is............

I interviewed on October 3rd and found my acceptance letter in the mail this morning out here in California so it must have gotten here yesterday. IU isnt the school for me so I will be giving up my spot. Hopefully one of you get it. Good luck!

I have not received my acceptance letter in the mail yet but I just found out that I got accepted today when I received the three amazing emails! I interviewed on Sept 12th! This is going to be the best thanksgiving ever! Is there a facebook group?

Accepted: 11/20
Interviewed: early October

Good luck everyone.

Did they send the three emails to all accepted applicants? I haven't received one so I guess I'm not accepted yet lol

Congratulations!! 🙂 There is a facebook group. Shannon or Jose, IUSOM administrators, will invite you to join the group. They invited me probably a week or so after I got those emails.

Aw no emails for me 🙁. Maybe next month.

They're forms for campus preference, health/vaccinations, and a form to sign about the technical requirements.

Hoping to hear back about my campus assignment soon (I remember reading somewhere that they send out campus assignments for non-EDPers at the end of every month starting in November).

Safe to say you picked south bend? Haha hoping to hear back soon too.

Let's just say my campus preference form looked like this:

1) South Bend
2-7) randomly picked (I don't even remember what my order was)
8) Northwest

Haha probably a good call. Exactly the same except with Bloomington as second.

Did anyone's application status page change after an acceptance?

Mine changed to something like "To be able to see your status please complete the following step(s): Graduate School Applications & Fees and "Establish IU Network Credentials"

Seems a little strange because there is nothing about an acceptance on the status page even though I've received my acceptance letter.

The end of the month is here... The waiting never ends.

Yeah this happened to me as well after I found out I was accepted. Did you by any chance ever take any classes at IU and already have a student ID number? Because apparently for a lot of people that were already in the IU system (from undergrad etc..), once they were accepted to the medical school there was some internal error, and the lady in the admissions office told me that they have to override this issue manually for all of these accepted students. If you have never had an IU number, then try establishing your IU network credentials, and then once you've done that the status page should say "accepted" in green letters at the top. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just called the admissions office and they said that the first batch of campus assignments (for non-EDPers) will hopefully be coming out early next week, but not guaranteed.

Hope everyone gets the campus they want!

Thanks Irish!

Any IS people who interviewed in sept/oct still waiting to hear back? Did any of y'all get contact info from your interviewers and actually contact them to find out if they've presented you at the committee meeting yet?

I was in Oct. and still waiting to hear back. I'm pretty sure there were several Sept/Oct still waiting.

I am an OOS and would prefer to attend school at the indianapolis campus. Do you mean that people who even chose indianapolis will get assignment in the coming week or we would have to wait till May as the acceptance letter stated.

Good point, yeah let me clarify, people who chose the Indianapolis route won't hear back until May. Only those who chose the regional campus route will start hearing back next week.

Irish answered your question, but one more thing to keep in mind is that only 65% of applicants who want to be at the Indianapolis campus actually get placed there. So it's definitely a bit of a toss up.

GT2, I tried answering your question above, in case you didn't see. Hope you were able to figure it out.

To those that will be interviewing for the rest of the cycle, if you're looking for a place to stay, University Place Hotel is being converted into dorm rooms. Construction is due to start next month.

Wow, those will be some nice dorm rooms 😀

are the dorm rooms specifically for medical students or for any IU student?

To those of you who accepted in the first batch and sent in your preferences early, check your admissions status portal. I haven't gotten a letter, but my campus assignment has been determined!!!!!!!! Hope you all get your #1! 🙂

That's weird, I got accepted in the first batch and I sent in my campus preference form right away and I don't see anything about a campus assignment in my portal.

Did any of you instate applicants also apply to the Marian DO program?

I believe the committee meets tomorrow!! Time for another round of decisions.

Got my campus decision today! I guess they don't always send out campus decisions at the end of the month.

Well, after interviewing in October, my school FINALLY decided to get their ish together and send the dean's certification letter. Feels good to be eligible for review after waiting eons for that stupid letter to get sent out. Probably won't hear back until January (doubtful) or February. Oh well, I'm patient
