Does the status only say "status feedback not yet defined!!!" when you are going to be invited for an interview or is there another time in the application process where it says that? I haven't checked my status in a while and can't even remember if I was ever under-review but I am now seeing the not defined status.

Thank you for your help! Long time lurker, first time poster 🙂

Mine appeared like that. I called them up and they were saying I was invited for interview and should expect a call. It seems to be the going thing that when it says "status feedback not yet defined!!!" that interview invite is coming up.

That was really cryptic. Care to share yours first? 🙂

Well,

I started off with two interviews scheduled, and they called me from lunch and asked me to take part in a third. I had a great experience and really liked the school though. I was just wondering if anyone else had to do three interviews. I really hope I get it, my day at Loyola was awesome!

Well, that was anti-climactic 😛

I'm pretty sure all of us were imagining that you had an absolutely miserable interviewer...

Just curious, but would you (or anyone that had an interview thus far) be willing to share the kind of questions that were asked?

They ask to do a third interview when there is a large difference in assessment between your first two interviewers. The 3rd was the tiebreaker. Hope it went well for you!

QFT, also having a 3rd interview doesn't put you at any sort of disadvantage. Until Oct 15th...:xf:

thank you very much! Hopefully I'll get a call soon 🙂

I've got an interview here soon - Anyone know if the office of admissions is ok with holding a bag of luggage? Or would I be better just leaving my stuff at my hotel?

They have a secure closet in the admission's office where you will have no problem keeping a suitcase. Good luck!:luck:

Crossing my fingers too!

As for the interviews, they were really nice and conversational. Mostly they just like elaboration on your application. They said they wanted to see you were the same person in real life as you were on paper. But with one interview I got a lot of ethical questions (ALOT)!

Yes please share your interview experiences.

Just checked my status:

"We have received all required information and your file is under review with the Committee on Admissions."

Oh boy...

FWIW, I got an e-mail from admissions today saying that the "Status feedback not yet defined!!!!" just means that they are reviewing your application. Or at least it did in my case.

yea it was kind of a buzzkill, but I wasn't getting my hopes up too much because it was still so ambiguous haha. Who knows still early on in the season, hopefully they will show me some love later!

Really? Wow that definitely is a buzzkill. The day before I got my ii it said "complete and under review" or whatever that status is. Then the next morning around 10am I got the phone call for ii and when I checked my status later that day it said "status feedback not yet defined". I guess they review quickly in some cases.

yea it's weird that my status isn't "under review" or something haha.

Submitted secondary a month ago, they still haven't even downloaded my letters. Please, guys? 🙁

Dumb question maybe, but do they download letters selectively of applicants they're already interested in?

As far as I know, no. They screen for the secondary, so I'd imagine if they ask you to do the secondary they give your file a thorough review.

Got this response to my email asking when I would be marked complete because it had been over a month.

"Markyb, there is nothing you need to do at this point. We are in the process of downloading letters from AMCAS. There are only two of us attempting to download close to 2,000 letters right now. If anything is missing from your application, you will receive a notice from us via email. Please check back on your status in about two weeks."

Made me feel bad for bugging them so for everybody else... Don't send emails to them asking when you will be complete because that will just delay everything more! That and they seem like nice people 🙂

Going to be taking the Amtrak into Chicago on Monday afternoon. Any suggestions on places to eat? I'm staying at a hotel ~3.5 miles from SSOM.

Giordano's deep dish pizza!

I second that! Just interviewed yesterday and ate here last night! It's the bomb.

Also, this school just became my dream school after the interview. What a great place!

LOU MALNATIS IS BETTER THAN G'S! Sorry, strong opinion on pizza in Chicago, hahah

+1 for Lou Malnati's. Pizza is taken very seriously around here.

If you want something other than pizza, my favorite place to eat in town is Kuma's Corner. Best burgers you can find pretty much anywhere. Just be prepared to trek to the north side. And there's always an hour wait. But it's worth it.

I like their pizza too. Its what i usually get when im in Chicago. Was there one close to Loyola?

Never had it.

Great, thanks! Are there good places to eat right around campus?

If you're talking walking distance, no, not really - you're gonna have to drive anywhere. There is a Portillo's on Roosevelt Rd. in Forest park, though

Is there a place to leave bags at the admissions office?

Yup! They were really nice about that. They have a cabinet you can just put your stuff in. Especially if you are interviewing on a weekday, there's not many other people interviewing that day so not a big deal at all.

On another note.. OCTOBER 15th.. why can't you come sooner🙁

2 interviewers right? Are they both professors/adcom or is one a student?

Interview invite a couple hours ago. I didn't get the chance to call back before they closed today, but I'm so pumped about this one. Loyola is fantastic!

One was a student for me. But they are both part of the adcom.

Great, thank you. Did you have two one-on-one interviews or one two-on-one?

Congrats! How long were you under review for?

Got my Interview invite this week. So pumped! Anyone else interviewing next week?

2 one on ones. Tomorrow is the big day huh? Kill it!

Thanks! I'm super excited, but deathly afraid.. I'm going into this with Loyola being my #1 and I hope I don't screw it up.

Umm I believe I was marked complete 8/8, so there's still hope for those who have had the "your file is currently under review" status for a while! Keep the faith 🙂

Stritch is amazing and the dean is an awesome guy. I'll probably go into a deep downward spiral of depression if I get rejected or waitlisted

Someone mentioned that there is no EM residency at Loyola, and that that would be changing. Anyone have an idea about when that would be?

You are very correct. We do not have an EM residency. However, while at an EM mini-conference that we hold at our school (we do a good job compensating for no residency) my friend and I were stopped by an EM attending in the hall who asked our graduation year for no particular reason. We said 2015. He then essentially said they could have a residency up and running for our graduation year. 👍

Until then it has been no problem for Stritch students to match in EM because of the plethora of away rotation possibilities in Chicago (don't even have to sublease!). If you interview with us you will get our match list and see we placed plenty of people in EM last year.

Even so I will reiterate, by your 3rd year we would most likely have a residency up and running.

Yesterday I went to an intubation clinic where 3 of the EM faculty were teaching us 1st and 2nd years and I was super impressed about how friendly and approachable they were, encouraging us all to come and shadow them. I had met another EM faculty before and he was the same way. It would be really easy to find a good mentor in EM here.

So I'm a little confused on the Stritch grading system. A PDF i found says that they grade as honors, high pass, pass, remediated pass, and failure. However in the same document it states "Students achieving a grade average equivalent to 3.5, 3.7, and 3.9 on a four-point scale will be recommended respectively for the graduation laudatories of cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude."

Is H HP P P* F just another way of saying A B C D F and it's not truly a pass/fail system?
