In my opinion, the interview went well but I didnt feel as though they sold the school well and my overall impression isnt as high as what it once was.

I have a PM interview. If I have to catch a 5:30pm bus (around the area), do you think that's enough time to make it? For those who interviewed, did your day last longer than expected/when did it end? Was the last thing the 45min med school tour?

Thanks in advance!!

I believe for those interviewing in the afternoon the MMIs are the last thing you will be doing. When your interview day ends really depends on which group you are in. You can finish as early as 4:20pm if you're in the earliest group or as late as 5pm. I'd ask the admissions office (maybe call ahead) if you can be part of an earlier group because of travel constraints because you never know with traffic. Either way, you should take a taxi to the bus stop.

complete the 15th of august and status still says application ready. is that a silent rejection? any idea if a loi is appropriate if this is a first choice school?

Does anyone know if the hotels NYU recommends offer a discount to students interviewing? What is the best hotel option? I'm not traveling alone so I can't use student hosting

find a hostel

Are there any hotel options?

Look at the Interview Tab on the secondary application website, there is a list of ten hotels there. Doesn't list the prices/locations so you probably will have to look through all of them yourself to see what works for you.

Does anybody happen to know where we should address our thank you note to? I cant find an address online for the office of admissions (theres only one broad address for the whole school of medicine), but I did happen to find my interviewers personal office, not sure if I should send it there though. Thoughts? Thanks!

I sent it to their clinical offices which is Langone(not sure if I'm spelling it right) medical center.

Those with recent invites, what dates are they scheduling at this point?

Interview Invite the other day!! Definitely my number one choice 😀

Does anyone who has done an AM interview know if the actual interviews are the first thing in the morning? I hope not

The first thing are the two MMIs from 8-9, and then morning interviews are at 9:15, 9:45, and 10:15, followed by a tour at 11. You wont know what time youre interviewing until you check in though.

Truth. I thought it was nice having the interviews first thing in the morning (after the MMIs, I had the first 1-on-1 interview of the day). It allows you to fully enjoy the tours and other activities without stressing about the interview. Plus, you might miss a few details throughout the tour if you're so focused on your upcoming interviews.

They had October 16th until i believe the 31st available.

True. I can just imagine screwing up the interview so bad though and then just hating the tour, lunch, etc

Congrats! When were you complete?

for those who already interviewed, any note on when they email decisions cause MSAR lists it as October 1st....does that make any sense?

Ugh not until January -___-

We were told that everyone would hear back by Feb. at the latest, but decisions may be made before then.

Soooo... is it too too late to be submitting a secondary now? Waste of money?

Introspection. Thats about all we can tell you

Anyone know if NYU is all about silent rejections or do they seem to consider some applications for a while? I was complete 7/30 and have yet to hear back.

Not sure if this was discussed earlier...if so, my apologies!

+1. Anyone?

Silent rejection. That's what happened to me last year.

Complete 8/25 and no II 🙁. Silent rejection I guess.

anyone know if LOIs make any difference pre-interview invite? my stats are lower than their averages (gpa more than MCAT), but i want an interview their sooo badly.

I completed my secondary on 8/6. But I retook the MCAT on 8/17, in which I received my scores on 9/18. Would that put my complete date after 9/18? Or will my complete date still be 8/6?

Should be around 9/18.

Hello Everyone,
I am a senior Biology major and will be graduating December 14. Iam currently waiting on my primary verification. I was wondering if anyone could give me feedback on my chances of acceptance it would be greatly appreciated. Iam African American with a 3.31 gpa and a 33M score on my MCAT. How does that fare for NYU??

Excellent shot at an interview at most MD schools, including NYU.

Anyone have the US News numbers for # interviewed, # accepted?
Also, are all admissions decisions coming out in January this year? Can't stand all this waiting!

That's what we were told at the interview. BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW ALREADY AHHHH

This might be a silly question, but I'm not exactly sure what the "status" of my application is. My application was submitted 8/22 and all it says is that my file is complete. Does this just mean that my file hasn't been viewed yet? And what do you guys think my honest chances are? 3.9/32N OOS. I'm worried about my MCAT a little bit...

hmm not sure a taxi would be the right choice. 5pm in nyc is pretty busy. You might spend more time trying to catch a cab and then stuck in traffic than if you walked (assuming it's close) or take the subway. I would get out of the interview ready to walk/take the subway and then make a game time decision based on how little traffic you see.

I have already had my interview and my status still only says complete, so theres really no knowing whether its been viewed yet or not

I really prefer to get admission to this school as new york is where i want to go to school but I applied very late because my mcat result came out late 🙁
I filled the secondary application today... GPA 3.8+ and MCAT 34,,, any shots?

II this morning, complete 8/31
Haven't scheduled the interview yet, but I'm probably gonna make it for around Nov. 1st

Do they pretty much give out interviews in order of completion? Or superstats first?

Anyone know how receptive NYU is to LOI? Pre-decision, post interview anyway?

I really enjoyed my interview experience there, and would like to show my interest, but I definitely don't want to come off as pushy. I imagine they are bogged down with interviews and such right now, so is there a better time to send one? Like closer to decision time?
