I'm pretty sure almost no schools reject this early in the cycle. Mayo, Chicago, Pitt, Vandy and BU being some of the notable exceptions. NU literally just started giving out secondaries and IIs...

Well, as I said, those were some notable exceptions. I think everyone knows Cali is nuts, and doesn't Georgetown screen? I'm sure Drexel/Tulane/GWU etc with 10k+ apps do the same.

Either way, I doubt NU does this early considering they just gave out Secondaries. Could be wrong, of course.

Georgetown doesn't screen, but I'm guessing they have some more hush-hush ways of paring down 10k+ applications - something's gotta give. And the same for the other large-volume schools 🙂

When I log into my account I see the following message:

We have received your supplemental application and letters of recommendation. Your application is now considered complete and under review.


However, I did not get a confirmation email - the last email I got simply said that they received the secondary app and fee.

Any thoughts on using a PI letter (who is a faculty member- director of her program as well as a professor) for the third letter?

Though she's faculty, she's faculty at an institution I did not do my undergrad or post-bacc work. I just want to use it if I can--much stronger than a random humanities letter...

Thoughts?

I'm not sure exactly about a PI letter, but I can say that I had 5 professors, only one of which was a science professor, and I got an interview, which shows their LOR leniancy maybe?

I don't think they are going exactly in order. I was complete 9/2 and got an II on 9/18. One of my close friends was complete 8/28 and got an invite today. So, I def wouldn't stress yet!
 
BTW I didn't receive an invite email. I was just being super neurotic and checking my status page constantly. If I hadn't, I would have totally missed the invite. Apparently, they had the wrong email listed for me, which is super weird since the secondary came to the right address. So just a heads up in case it happens to any of you.

Where is the status check page for the application? Is it the same as the supplemental application login?

Yes. It took a few days after I submitted before the page updated and displayed my status.
 
Got an interview invite, completed 9/3. I got an email before I checked the status.

Was watching Van Wilder, just realized he was interviewing for NU when he literally crapped himself:laugh:
 
FSM offered me a fee waiver, hoping it comes tomorrow so I can submit. I love this school too much!! It is a long shot for me but keeping my fingers crossed.
 
I graduated in May emailed them the ad-comm seeing if I could fill out essay 3 even though it asks if you graduate more than one academic year before matriculation, and was denied. However, this year I'm gaining the bulk of my clinical experience and other activities highly relevant to medical school that are not included in my primary application. Do you think it would be okay to send an update letter/letter of interest to the ad comm after my secondary is submitted before I hear anything about interviews or rejections?
 
To those with interview invites, what days of the week are interviews?
 
I only submitted yesterday and I'm already complete, yay!

Im busy with interviews have one tomorrow and another on Monday.

Given that Northwestern sent the secondary at the beginning of September, I don't think it'd be a long shot. I say go for it.
 
FSM only interviews Mon Wed Fri, from Oct1 to early March (though i am not sure on the end date). From personal experience and what people posted in the past, FSM seems pretty receptive to LoI given that it's sincere and specific to FSM's unique features. But this might be more useful later in the cycle, post-interview. I am in no way suggesting you bombard them with letters at this stage, but fyi if FSM is truly your top choice!! 🙂

I know sending in an secondary now, say Oct 1, obviously isn't early, but is it late (detrimental to interview/acceptance chances) or am I still in the middle of the pack for Northwestern?

Do your status pages say an actual status, or do they just say "ONLINE PAYMENT RECEIPT"?

Just wanted to make sure, I submitted 9/1.
