Just remember, at OHSU, stats are only 20% of the formula for acceptance. 40% is the MMI and 40% is the longer "traditional" interview.
It is the traditional interview that you want to score major points with. He/she is your advocate at the admissions committee. Be a person that they want to have in their classes for the next four years, and will represent the university well for the rest of your career. Be confident, yet humble. Your stats got you the interview, now impress them with your personality to seal the deal.
Only the traditional interviewer knows anything about your file. The others only have a photo (if you sent one in).
Go into the MMI with the attitude that the person that you are speaking to is your aunt or the parent of a good friend. Talk to them in conversational tones. Don't talk down, be at their level. There is nothing to be shy about, and the person wants to see the best of you. Talk to them on a personal level. Show compassion and empathy in the "acting" stations. Explain your thinking in the "How do you feel about..." stations. And pick a side and back it up in the ethical dilemma stations (don't waver. Medical ethics are what they are, and there is a more correct answer. Pick it and stick to it!)
