Well, shoot. Rejected via status update at the bottom of the portal page.

Here's to putting all my eggs in one MD/MPH basket-interview at Miami Miller! No pressure or anything...

P.S. - And because I'm a diehard SDN browser, I'll definitely be returning to this thread. I am interested to see how the OHSU admit process turns out for everyone.

I just noticed that the portal page changed a little.

Bah! What does that mean for those of us still waiting to find out if we get an MD interview and had an update since? I. Am. DYING!

P.S. Thanks for the update, nonetheless.
 
My interpretation is that at the latest, interview/reject decisions will wrap up in two weeks.

:scared: Hopefully the baseline anxiety I've been experiencing these last two months will dissipate...
 
On there website they say they interview through March, so I am guessing the last II would be at that mid February point and possibly a bit after when people cancel/withdraw from interviewing
 
Interviewed 12/14/12...hold 1/29/13...yeah, 3 1/2 more months of waiting...

Anyone got "on hold for interview "recently ?

What a big club it is. Is there any way we can see where we are "ranked" in the hold pool? Granted, there may be a couple more interviews, but it would still be indicative of our chances. I might shoot Katy an e-mail. My advisor may know something, too.

I don't think they will tell you, that is something I wish I could know as well, you could always ask though, worst they would say is no, and then you could let the rest of know which I know I'd appreciate.

I did. Mine said "on hold for interview" just yesterday. To do that 2 weeks before they say they will let all know...kind of weird, I thought.

They are still scheduling interviews through March or April. So you are in line to get the II email. Congratulations!

My status has been like that (on hold for interview) for months now. Of course, I am also OOS (California), but it also says they will continue review until March. I guess we got another months, folks! 🙂
 
This is how I feel right now, with the animal representing my impending and nebulous interview decision:

Still nothing this week. I am still baffled about how I can get a non-WWAMI interview at UW and get stone cold silence from OHSU as an in-state applicant. Does not compute.

You definitely are not the only one who is confused about how this whole thing went down. But time will tell. I kind of want an excuse to come to Portland to visit my family and interview (if I were to be offered one), but I don't know that I could justify spending the money to fly back when I have a couple of offers elsewhere. We only have to be patient for a little while longer.

Wow, if they excluded you, too, at this point...all I can say is W...T...F?
 
I am curious as to if anybody in a mission group has been denied. I have creeped through some mdapp profiles and it appears some people have but via sdn I have only seen interviews and hold for interviews.

I was/am in a mission group and got an interview this time but I got a status saying "refuse" in my application portal last year..

Omg. You got a non -wwami interview at uw!? :'( I have lots of connections to them And bomb stats but got a pre secondary rejection. Sigh... congrats to you though and sorry bout ohsu.

I'm in a mission group and have been on hold for an interview for ages.
 
well hopefully some holds turn into interviews in the next two days, seeing as how recent trend for interviews seems to be Fridays and Saturdays, good luck to everyone.

Ugh, I hope so. Waiting on these last few schools has been awful, especially OHSU, worse than that period before landing my first interview. :luck:

Yeah, we're really getting down to the wire now. Every time my phone pings a notification, I jump. Every time I log into the portal, I'm relieved when I see that 'no news is good news'.

Right there with ya sister, down to scrambling for the phone at each notification praying it's an II. At this point I wish they'd just tell us straight up over the phone whether we stand a chance. When it comes to down to it, an interview at OHSU, UA Tucson, and/or LSU in that order would definitely affect my current plans/acceptances/WLs, hence my incessant whining. 🙁

Seeing that you haven't heard yet RachelKJ is kind of both positive and negative news for me. Positive in that you are definitely going to hear yes eventually and if you haven't heard then more are going out. Negative in that if you haven't heard yet that means more time until I will hear!

But to reiterate no one out there heard anything new at all huh?

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! II just noe via email!!!! Literally jumped up and down like a 5 year old as I ran to my PI to choose a date! But dude, the airfare is gunna KILL me!

Any recommendations on hotels?

Finally!! I always knew you would!

I've heard good things about the little B&B type place on the hill - it's in the list of places they send you. Staying on the hill will drastically reduce your morning stress. For a more Portland experience, the Ace Hotel is fun and, more importantly, close to Powells Books.

Alright! Congratulations!! I stayed at the University Place Hotel and Conference Center on Lincoln. It was decent quality for the money. I drove to my interview and it only took 5 mins.

Good luck!
 
Oh, and Kayak.com is best for finding good airfare.
