two questions - i am asking for a friend:

has anyone had trouble with their financial aid requirements posting on my.umdnj.edu? I did the "entrance" counseling but the site doesn't recognize that I have done it. It's been almost three weeks. I called two weeks ago and they said to not worry but now it has been a long time.

and are they going to give us ipads? :xf:

thanks

That's my understanding, or they'll charge us and force us to buy iPads, haven't gotten the exact details on that one yet lol

Afaik the iPad is included in your tuition/fees, the fees being a pretty significant number

thanks guys. scratch that other question. new question:

Do you all have to fill out the collegeboard CSS profile for UMDNJ-RWJMS? I have to do it for my school, my friend can't figure out if he has to do it or not. He is learning towards not.

hmm, i'm not sure what you mean. I am just asking, is there any financial aid at RWJMS that requires the CSS profile to be completed in order to apply for it?

thanks!

So, question for current students. Why do we need an iPod/Phone/Pad? What exactly are we using them for? Please be specific, because I want to know if my iPod will actually suffice, or should I just bite the bullet and get an iPad. Trying to avoid buying apple products because they do nothing but piss me off.
It will suffice.

I'm an accepted student here as well, not an M1 yet, but RWJMS uses iTunes U to record and upload their lectures and lecture slides. It seems like Apple products would be more useful in this case! I think an iPad would be more useful than the iPod because of the apps RWJMS said they will download and give to us.
Yes there are lectures on iTunes but they're also on a proprietary interface that everyone uses. There is no need for you to have an iOS device. That said, you will likely receive a school iPad that you will be renting via student fees. That's the rumor at least. It's also a new initiative. We'll see how it pans out.

To answer finalandreo, you don't need to purchase anything. Even if you did you can wait until you get here to buy it. Also, congrats!

Going to withdraw my acceptance very soon, decided to attend NJMS instead. Hopefully my spot goes to someone on the waitlist who is truly excited about RWJ. Wishing you guys all the best!

+1 Just withdrew my acceptance offer yesterday and decided to attend NJMS. I hope one of you on the wait list gets my spot!

Anyone know the total loan amount for in-staters?

Thanks in advance for the help!

For the Class of 2016, the cost of attenance for instaters is 67,068 while maintaining a residence. (2017 has not posted yet)

This is the loan limit you can possibly take out by federal law as far as student loans are concerned. If you want more, then you'll need to take out personal loans (lines of credit, credit cards, etc.). Also, the 67K Number is not the amount each individual is allowed to take out, only the ceiling for anybody to take out in a given year. Loan amounts are determined based on your own personal situation, credit score, etc. For example, if you're living with your parents while in medical school, you're eligible for less since they know you're being supported. Also, if you have any grants or scholarships, you'll be able to take out even less, as these also impact the possible amount you can take out from a loan. In other words, you're not going to find the 100% solution to your own total loan from one of us, you'll have to run through the process at the financial aid office.

anyone know if I'm going to get an email every time someone gets mugged near NJMS in Newark? Is there a way to turn this off for RWJMS students?

I don't think so. I think UMDNJ does it like a distro list. You can't be taken off of the emergency notification list, so you're just going to have to suck it up and deal.

This forum has been dead for the past month. I don't think there's been any waitlist movement based on that, or if there was, they're not on this forum proclaiming it

No love for UMDNJ-RWJMS?
I'm applying MD/PhD here because the MD/PhD program here is amazing.

Hey would anyone be able to post the MD/PhD questions for RWJMS? I'm applying this cycle and would greatly appreciate the prompts so I can get ahead of the game with secondaries! Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing/able to provide this information.
