I don't know if it helps, but I interviewed on 9/20 and I was accepted two weeks ago. I'm pretty sure that they call on the 1st and 15th of every month. So maybe you'll get called today?

I received my call at approx 4 PM.

Also interviewed 9/27 but have yet to hear. Hoping maybe today

Can anyone tell me an approximate timeline from the time your Secondary Application is verified as complete and sent up for review and the time you were notified of an interview or not?
And if anyone was denied an interview, how and when were you informed? I just had my secondary app submitted 15 Oct. Yes, pretty late in the game, but I'm still trying to keep my hopes up.

I submitted Sept. 24 and received a complete email Oct. 9th and I am waiting to see if I will get an interview.

I got called on 10/24 so who knows if they have a regular schedule.

The admissions committee meets every Tuesday. They didn't meet this past Tuesday due to Sandy, and Christmas/New Years are both Tuesdays this year. Any one who is interviewing now will likely not find out any information until after the winter break.

ii after sending in a loi/update! 🙂

edit- yikes the airfare is rather pricey this time of year!!!

hey can someone help me out with the following:

if I book a flight leaving IAD the same day of the interview, would I be able to make a flight at 745pm? This gives me 3.75 hours to get from betheseda to IAD. I am not sure what traffic etc. is like in this area.

THANKS

edit: nevermind. supershuttle.com got me all squared away.

So I submitted my supplemental late August and had not heard anything back; so were talking 11-12 weeks here. I called them this morning asking about it and she could not find my file. I was about to go crazy and she put me on hold. A few minutes later she comes back on and says oh it was just miss-filed. Hahah man she got me good. But it makes me a little upset that this "miss-file" could have been why I have not received an invite yet. Super frustrating.

I'm not sure how worried I should be... I have a GPA discrepancy and the end of my junior/beginning of senior year.

They sent me an email last Wednesday asking why my grades were so poor my "senior" year.

I feel like they should would have gotten back to me by now if they wanted to give me a ii 🙁

I would actually be careful about this. Traffic sucks around the time interviews finish, and you'll want to give yourself extra time. One of my interviews ran half an hour past it's end time.

You should in general be fine, but I always like to schedule in some extra leeway, especially with airport security these days :/

Did anyone who interviewed 9/27 hear back last week?

Interviewed 9/27 and haven't heard anything yet. Hating this waiting thing.

I called on the 1st to see if they were making calls or what the deal was and was told that the 1st and 15th thing is not correct, specifically because the Dean was traveling and was not available for making calls. So, it's anyone's guess now when we will hear.

My phone, though, is getting tired of being stared at.

I hear that. I'm glad you called and found that out though. Now who knows how long the wait will be.

Has anyone received any interview invites lately??

Are there any current Air Force students on here that I can talk too? I am trying to decide if I want to attend. Please PM if you are a current Air Force student.

i interviewed 10/4, and i sheepishly just called admissions to see if the hurricane slowed anything down. she said no, the admissions committee still met and they still made calls last week

Perhaps someone can confirm or deny:

They offer you conditional acceptance as long as they like you, but they're still waiting on DODMERB/grades/security clearance.

Unconditional acceptance once those goes through?

Or do they not even extend the conditional acceptance until DODMERB results are in?

(only slight twitchy nervousness...)

I have a conditional acceptance ATM. And you are correct with your assumptions. My DODMERB is complete, but they give everyone a conditional acceptance in the beginning (if they are accepting you), and then they do the security stuff/send your unconditional letter.

I'm hoping to receive the unconditional letter any day now.

I was there on 10/04 for an interview as well. patiently tapping my fingers at this point hoping they call with an acceptance.

im glad im not the only one still waiting, this is torture. i feel like it wouldnt be as painful if they hadn't given a time frame that they would get back to us in

Haha good luck guys.
I'm unbelievably excited to go to USUHS I'm heading down there to check out housing in January, anyone have any additional suggestions?

Has anyone received their unconditional acceptance yet? I got the conditional on the 16 wondering when ill be getting the official thing. (Been physically qualified since mid sept)

They might be waiting on final grades before shooting out unconditionals.

Anyone know if there is any or much hope this year for those of us that ended up applying late in the game? I am still in the "hoping for an interview" category.

There's always hope, if nothing else you may be on the waiting list and they do cycle through that. It's just less of a guarantee than if you interviewed in september or october.

When did you apply?

My application was entirely complete the first week in August... until my last professor drug his feet on a required lor, which he had promised me from July. After much asking and finally getting his boss on it, I got it almost 2 mos later. My app ended up being complete and verified by USUHS on 15 Oct... ugh.

Idk, I'd say you probably have a chance for an interview next semester. But it depends on that LOR I would think at this point, if it's not good, they may push back. But it may also depend on the rest of your stats.

If your stats are epic, they'll find a way to get you in for an interview, especially if you have prior military experience, either as a dependent or in service. They still offer interview slots until the primary season closes (which just closed) so you've got a chance still 🙂

What's the "primary season?" And that one LOR (and the rest) were all good and very supportive. And when you mention an interview "next semester" do you mean that they still interview in the spring as well? I am under the impression they stop interviewing in Feb, correct?

Primary season - The period of time that AMCAS primary applications are open, reviewed, and submitted to schools (June-November).

I think they have interview dates scheduled all the way through April 2013. But they lump February-April in a group that usually gets waitlisted at 10+ weeks before a response after their interview.

But there is movement on the USUHS waitlist, so it's not the end of the world.

Well, today marked 6 weeks since the interview. They said 4-6 weeks, but to expect 6 weeks. This coming week could bring news.... I just hope it's good news.

what day did you interview?

How do they let you know if you've received an interview? Anybody get any invites lately? I've been complete for a couple weeks now, so i'm getting a little anxious.

You'll get an email with an interview invite.

If you're asking about places to live it kind if depends on your family situation (single, married, kids). If you're single or married with dual income I'd suggest living in Bethesda where you can walk if you want to. If not then live further where you can afford. I can't help much with living further away but if you have questions about Bethesda I'd be happy to help.

So I had an interview this season at a different school and I needed to tell the story to people who can relate. I have no idea if this interview went good or bad because I don't know if the interviewer was dead serious or just testing me.

The interview started by using something in my PS to bring up his story about a lady dying after jumping out of a plane. Followed by a statement about the interviewer thinking people who jump out of perfectly good aircraft are crazy. Then a comment about us being opposites. Moved on to the regular why medicine. Then it returned to military service and how he was taught to avoid military service at all cost. Then the interview made a self-proclaimed political statement about how all the conflicts that the US had no business being involved in. (I paraphrased and kept out as much detail but tried to keep the main points to get the idea across).

So, what was I supposed to say? Was this a test to see how I reacted? Did this guy really just think all the things he said? I doubt he would hold those things against me but I hope I was able to convey the important information and I hope I responded correctly given the situation. Im not going to state my responses but I will say that I did not get defensive, break down, or angry. I will admit it through off my focus a little considering I had been focusing on what I needed to say and instead I started analyzing the interviewer trying to figure out what he wanted to know because most of those things he said were straight up comments with no question attached.

People on SDN always talk about how cool prior service looks and things like Airborne so I really had not expected for those things to be used as a negative on my application.

Got the phone call today. Conditional acceptance! (Interviewed 9/27). Good luck everyone else!

The call came about 6:30pm EST. The Colonel and I talked for a few minutes, and he answered some questions I had. Very relaxed. He seemed to know my application pretty well, too. I was surprised at that. The area code was 301, if that gives you something to watch for.

Got my acceptance yesterday! Wasn't expecting a call on a Saturday. Interviewed 9/20

FWIW, for various reasons I was a late applicant. I wasn't even confirmed on "application complete" until Nov 4. Dec 16 I received my interview invite for the Feb 2 interview date. I was wait-listed Apr 17 (my understanding is that no slots were available at that point anyway). I was accepted April 25.

Keep the faith.

So I'm slightly confused by the wording for the Dodmerb physical. It says to "schedule your eye exam before you schedule your physical exam." Are they saying your eye appointment needs to happen before your medical exam?
