Use the space to request a course sub for both calc classes.

Sent from my iPhone using SDN Mobile app

I put down Calc I for the Math Prerequisite without realizing it asks for stats or research methods so I didn't request a course sub. I've taken both stats and RM. Is there anything I can do to correct the problem?

You'll be fine - we'll contact you if what you've entered is not accepted to fulfill the course requirement.

Omg. I just sent in the application with phoenix spelt wrong.....

I put pheonix instead of phoenix

o no! =( would really love to go there. I don't know what happened. lol I guess i was relying on microsoft's spell check too much. The weird thing was that spell check didn't catch it at first. After I opened the document a day or so later (and after I already submitted it), then the spell check caught it. My heart stopped. The worst part is that I mention Phoenix like 4 times throughout the essay....all of which are spelled "Pheonix"

Chalked that one up to one of the worst mistakes I made on a secondary ..hahah whoops =/

anyways PHOENIX i know how to spell your name I promise. Please show me mercy! 😵

haha i seriously feel like my avatar...uhhhhh ohhhhhhhhh

Hi Tara,

A variation of this question has already been asked but here goes: I graduated in the spring and work full-time now. All my coursework is looking good except the biochem requirement. I've taken 10 hours of organic chem and labs, as well as genetics and molecular/cellular biology, but I graduated before I found out about UA Phoenix Med's biochem requirement. So first, am I out of luck here? I can probably take an evening biochem class this spring if I needed to, but that's not on my AMCAS app. So on the coursework section, would I go ahead and enter the biochem class I could take this spring in the biochem box and then explain my situation in the substitution box?

Thanks for all your help,
mountainmandan

Hi Tara,

First, thank you for being here to answer our questions! I have two:

I haven't yet received a secondary from Arizona-Phoenix. My MCAT scores were released on August 28th and that evening I got a secondary from Arizona-Tucson, but not Phoenix. Fingers crossed . . . might I still be receiving one? Hold tight?

And I have a question similar to mountainmandan's. I have all of the coursework requirements are covered except for statistics. I could definitely add stats in the spring, but I don't have it listed on AMCAS as planned coursework. Will this be acceptable?

Hi Tara!

I wanted to ask if UACOM Phoenix was receptive to "In-the-area" requests - I'll be flying over from the east coast to interview at Tucson later this month, and being that I'm on a tight budget, I was hoping UACOM might be able to accommodate that request (if I am eligible for an interview, of course 🙂)

Thanks for being on SDN and have a great holiday!

We interview on Monday's, so hopefully you can maximize your trip of chosen for an interview.

Biochem is essential to our curriculum - start reviewing course options and list your plans on the Supp App space. We will continue to move your application along.

If you haven't received an invite by Wed, call us. Be sure to list the stats course as "in progress" for spring semester on the Supp App.

Will calculus satisfy the math requirement? I have taken statistics and research methods, but I listed my calculus class on my supplemental app.

Would rather see stats/research methods - please email the office and notify us of the change. Take care.

Thank you Tara, I sent an email to notify the office of my course changes. Hopefully this will not create any disturbances in the process. Sorry for the mishap.

I think as long as it's limited to one or relatively few small typos you'll be okay at most schools. They'll still probably look at your app and pick on you during the interview. Or, who knows, everyone that matters might even miss it. Good luck! 🙂

Can somebody post something. Its been over 24 hours! I need something to off set my constant email checking for interviews 🙂

Haha +1

I get excited whenever I get an email notification that somebody has posted in here 🙂

Still waiting for an interview like most people here. Submitted secondary last week but I'm really anxious. Last year I was wait-listed after my interview but there didn't seem to be any movement. Hopefully this year goes better!

Any of you guys actually complete? Just checked and they only have 1/3 of my LOR's and my transcript is still labeled missing.

My application status says "Interview" with a picture of a lock next to it. Under notes, it says "not scheduled yet". Does this mean I got an interview?

Mine says the same thing. I don't think it's anything to get excited about.

I thought that might be the case, but all of my other app statuses from other schools that are run by the "Amp" system don't even have interview listed yet, so I thought I'd ask.

Sadly I think Ceasefire is right. I'm 95% sure it was up like that with the lock/not scheduled as soon as I completed the secondary. I whole heartedly hope I am wrong though.

Pops up as soon as you submit the secondary 🙂

That just means that your application is under review and doesn't necessarily mean you're waiting in line for an interview. It sounds like interview invites will be coming out in the next week or so for 9/17, so good luck!

The first 36 invited to interview will be contacted by Monday - may or may not be "in the AMP system". Due to the delays in our programming schedule and the first interview day on the 17th, the first folks chosen will have a week's notice (assuming they would like our first available day).

Hang in there with us - as I've said, our new system is worth the wait, but it's a very large solution to launch in a very tight timeframe.

I'll update everyone tomorrow afternoon with the latest information. Will also post our interview dates and committee schedule on our website.

Are all interview dates Mondays or are there some interview weeks utilizing another day?

I have been trying random combinations but it is still locked:laugh:

Another question for Ms. Tara!

I am also in the "only one letter of rec has been processed" boat and my status says my application is not ready. Although in the e-mails I received, it says my app will be reviewed even if only one letter is in, is this still correct?

Thank you much! 🙂

We review with just one letter in - app ready will occur later in the process.

Is it just me or is the description for "social sciences" in the recommended courses a little bit deceiving?

"2 semesters/6 credits or 9 quarter hours with a "C" or better in the area of economics, public policy, healthcare administration."

It makes it seem like only these 3 subjects are the only ones that qualify as social science. I just assumed other social sciences would qualify, but I thought I'd make sure here.

I think they are specifically looking for public health / econ / healthcare admin type of courses here - my hunch is anything that relates to the social aspect of healthcare / public health awareness that kind of thing.

Here is a response on page 2 that I am basing my thinking off of:

"
I imagine your general education exposed you to at least 2 courses within the behavioral or social sciences. We can certainly review courses you would like to offer as "substitutions", however, if you have absolutely no courses to suffice, we will expect that you enroll in courses this fall and/or spring to meet the academic requirement for admission.
"

What I assumes is that these public health and econ classes are additional that may add to your application. The description changes in the first slot for humanities courses where it describes something like, psychology, sociology, etcetera.

Finally got my secondary in. Hope I did not fall too far back in line since everyone had been given the prompts in advance and everyone got the secondary within a week of each other.

Here is to some luck as this school seems great and every time I go to the website to read more about it I become more and more interested :luck::xf::luck:

My status page still says they have none of my letters. I know there is the error, but hopefully they have at least one so I can be marked complete!

Mine says the same thing. I wouldn't worry about it, I think its just an error with the website. You can call them and check, the admissions people here are very helpful.
