Hi Tara,

I was wondering when more interview invites would be sent out (perhaps before the holidays)?? Or if you are able to give us a rough time frame for when the rest will be sent out by?

Thanks much!

I know UACOM - Phoenix doesn't accept updates from those applicants who are on hold post-interview. But does anyone know if sending in a transcript from the fall semester is considered updating your file for those individuals who are still in school?

Due to our holiday closure (Dec 22 - Jan 2), we will continue reviews through mid- to late January.

Unless a request for new coursework has been made, we will review what is currently available. Those missing more than 3 required courses are often asked for an update.

I thought I read earlier that the last of the interview invites would be sent out by the end of December. So do they keep going through January?

The influx of applications at the last day will require that we give more time to review - end of Jan is our goal.

Tara,

Is there a Facebook group for those accepted into the class? I know some schools create a page, while at other schools students do it themselves.

Ok everyone!

I made the Facebook page for the group, so if you'd like to be added, please let me know via message.

The group is currently private, until I get a few members added. 🙂

Hope you all have been extra nice this year! Happy holidays. Enjoy time with your family and friends!

Tara,

Can you apply for in-state residency in AZ after a year? I am wondering if OOS would qualify for in-state tuition after some time.

Thank you!

(Hope everyone had a happy holiday!)

Yes, you can apply and some have been successful in receiving in-state status for tuition purposes. The decision is made by the University, not the College.

To all who have recently interviewed--

Is applicant visit day something you would bring your husband/wife too? Or is it meant for the applicants only? I wanted my husband to see the campus with me and go on the tour and such. Did you/others bring someone?

Thanks!

J 🙂

By Applicant Visit Day, you mean the interview day? Despite the friendly name, it's still an interview day, which means you should go in aiming to impress in a professional manner. If you'd like your husband to see the campus and go on a tour, I would suggest waiting until Second Look.

I agree with iBear. No one brought a spouse because the day is essentially an interview day. I believe UA Phoenix Med does allow you to schedule a tour, however. You might want to check that out as an alternative if possible! 🙂

I'm so nervous for Friday....:scared:

Seriously. Friday has been in the back of my mind all week and come to find out, I won’t even have my phone with me this Friday as I picked up a new volunteer shift on Friday afternoons. The anxiety is going to be through the roof when I get off and have to turn my phone on as I'll either see a missed call 🙂xf🙂 or a hold email :scared:

This waiting is no fun. But at least admissions is nice enough to let us know the exact dates they will release acceptances.

All we can do is be hopeful. 🙂

Hi Tara,
Just wondering how big the class of 2017 was going to be? I couldn't remember if it was a class of 80 or 100? Thank you so much for all you do!! Hoping for good news Friday!!! Would love to come there!!

Good luck to everyone awaiting the call on Friday!!!

For those who end up getting accepted (or who are already accepted), please feel free to contact me about the Facebook group. We'd love to have more people to add to our little circle. 🙂

We are all pretty cool - we swear. 😉

Hey Tara ,
I was just wondering approximately how many acceptances you believe will be given out tomorrow? Thanks!

Hey Tara ,

If I was a betting man, which I often am, I would say 22+/-5.

I say that based on a few things and figured I would post the numbers so others don't have to go digging through the thread.

So far 64 people have been accepted
  • 15 from 10/15
  • 20 from 11/9 (2 from hold)
  • 29 from 12/14 (5 from hold)
Now I don't recall exactly how many are supposed to be accepted to get to a class size of 80, but I think it has been said to be around 130. So assuming that, there are about 66 acceptances left to be handed out, that puts us at an average of 22 people getting accepted in each of the next committee meetings. I'm not sure how rolling UA is, so I'm just going to leave it at 22 even thought tomorrow could be higher than the last day (on 3/8) due to how rolling admissions can play into decisions and whatnot.

Hoping for one of those remaining spots myself:xf:

Best of luck to everyone tomorrow!!

They accepted 145 for those 80 seats last year. But yes, it could be less or more (please be more) this year depending on people's decisions to matriculate or not.

Thanks for all the info. I was just about to go back through the thread to find it all. 🙂

Thanks for doing all the hard work! So nervous for tomorrow...g/l to everyone!

Nicely done - this is an accurate review and forecast.

Additionally, we are planning to release our final interview invitations tomorrow. A few may trickle through Monday.

It's been a long and arduous season for many of you and regardless of your outcome with UA Phoenix Med, I wish you the best. For those accepted, as was said today by a revisiting candidate for the entering class, "be grateful" and remain helpful to colleagues still waiting.

Best of luck. I'll try to get phone calls made in the late afternoon, after 3:30.

Thanks for all the information! Good luck to everyone!

It's beyond nerve-racking knowing our fates have likely been sealed and that all we can do now is wait for a phone call :xf: or email :scared: later today

I am so excited for you guys today. I know it is stressful so try and do something to pass the time beside checking SDN every minute 🙂 Take a walk, go out to eat etc...

I'll be sending my good vibes to you all.

Ken

coworker just called me from an arizona number via google voice ....of course I freaked out....so not a funny prank!

It might be time to start checking the inbox...

Maybe they got so tired they decided to sleep and call in the morning 😉

Well... the last two rounds of reviews the emails were sent out at 6:00pm and 6:15pm. So, another 15 to 30 min wait to get the email. This is my 4th review....
