To Snorlax,

You should sign up for that date ASAP. I had the same thing. I was offered an interview about two weeks ago and only had one date available in August and none in Sept/Oct. I called to see if that was an error in the system and they said that no, they only extend invites out about two weeks in advance. The date you see is the date they want to interview you. You should probably book a flight ASAP, it was pretty pricey for me because I waited, assuming that it was an error in the system.

They have an admissions timeline thingy in the info packet with similar numbers listed:
4500-5200 applicants @ Primary
2500-3000 applicants @ Secondary
500 Interviewed
105 Offers
~100 Waitlisted

I'm flying up since I don't want to deal with driving up from San Diego. I'm staying with student hosts that the school sets up for interviewees and my hosts have been nothing but welcoming to me.

When are you arriving in Sacramento? I scheduled my flight kinda late, so I ended up having to get a morning flight into SMF on Thursday.. almost a full day early haha. Guess it's time to explore!

Haha, I think I get in a little later than you do; I'm departing LA at 8:15am on a Delta flight. Maybe we should meet up on Thursday and explore!


Edit: Hmm.. does anyone (who interviewed last week/will be this Friday) have a green check-mark next to "Interview Date Scheduled & Confirmed" ...? I've been getting all the update emails and such for this Friday so I'm not too concerned but that check-mark not being there is messing with me =(

Not sure if this is true. I also emailed them about this since I won't be back to the states til September and it has been a month since I have received my invite. They said that new dates will be up. Several new dates throughout August have gone up, so it's not as if if you don't sign up for a date, you won't get a chance at all. I'm sure they would let you know if that were your intended interview date. Of course, it's best if you interview as soon as possible, but not quite so urgent as you make it.

I completed the prerequisites and entered more than enough into the form, but after I submitted, it still says "Prerequisites - Not Completed." Anyone else have the same issue?

The box is also unchecked for me. Did you confirm your interview with the office already? Maybe the confirmation email just hasn't been logged in yet. I wouldn't worry too much about it =)

Alright! After digging through last years thread, it looks like January will be the earliest they start to send interview invites from the wait list. Also, it seems there's a reasonable expectation of getting an interview. Good luck all! See ya in January...

Keep in mind that this year's admissions process is likely to be expedited significantly over last year's. They had mentioned that they did a lot of work to streamline their process so you may not have to wait so long. Good luck!

I think you're right. OchemNerd was complete 8/1 and got the II on the 12th. If they're going in order, the AdCom is probably reviewing applications that were complete during the first week or so of August right now..? That's a really fast turnaround..

It actually says in the email they sent us that January is when they start interviewing off the the waitlist, not just based off of last year's thread.

same. sept 7th just opened up. except i will still be out of the country. ugh why dont they show a couple options at a time?!

They don't show a couple options at a time because they don't have them finalized yet most likely. These are MMI interviews, so there's more than 20 people they have to finalize for just ONE date. Be understanding.

They only give out interview dates two - three weeks in advance. So if you're still waiting for a September date, then you're probably gonna have to wait until it's September.

Davis still uses MMIs. They're intense and I can see how they are hard to prepare for. Nevertheless, you should have a good time 🙂
