IS, stats in MDapps

here is the website, i havent reserved it yet. Do you think it would be cheaper per person if we all share a shuttle?
Interesting. The cabbie I rode with today estimated a cab to CVG to be about 35-40 dollars. I contacted admissions about an hour ago and they said that most people take cabs after the interview. It appears that some people begin at 7:45am tomorrow, whereas I'll begin at 9:00am. It seems like 5pm would be the latest that anyone would be there according to the information online.
Any idea on how much this would cost? Kind of hard to coordinate without knowing who would all be interested.
Can somebody tell us where we need to go for the interviews? I'm looking for a location and can't find it... The CARE/Crawley building?
Hope everyone interviewing today had a good MMI! Also, I thought it was funny that Dean Manuel definitely alluded to SDN during the morning presentations... "You know that website where people talk about their experiences interviewing? Use that site. It's a good site." Though he also had a bit of a caveat about taking people's free advice.
Anyway, U. Cincinnati was great and I'd be so happy to end up here! 😍
😛 I was trying not to laugh, haha. What group were you in?
I was definitely laughing. I was in group 2, what about you? Though I figure he must give pretty much the same presentation to all groups.
Group 3! It was nice to not have to set a million alarms to make it on time - I woke up naturally and got to do some homework before I got dressed and set out for the interview. Also got to chill with my M3 friend and her roommate the night before, so I got to ask a ton of questions 👍
MMI was a LOT more fun than I expected - I thought it would be a little bit gimmicky, but it's honestly really thought-provoking and in some cases more true to yourself since you don't have time to formulate a load of BS to feed to the interviewer to present yourself in the best light. Good on you, Cinci for promoting it and giving me the chance to try it out!
Lol, so I guess he does give the same talk. He must get sick of it.
I agree on the MMI... I was actually kind of sad that our acting scenario got cancelled, though I'm not even sure how I would've done with it. On the other hand, I was definitely glad for the rest in the middle that let me kind of regroup. Overall, I left even more excited about Cincinnati than I thought I would... 😳

Agreed. UC is pretty awesome.
Group 1!

So you were in the same admissions presentation. To think, I was looking around for people who were smirking at that comment.... 😛
Did you guys see the girl not wearing a suit?

Go on...

Creepiest gif ever. As for the girl, I mean, she still looked nice and put together, she just was wearing a nice top without a suit jacket. I guess it did make her stand out a bit, which could be a risk but might not matter at all. Who knows.
Did anyone send an update letter and/or a loi?
I was complete late July and haven't heard anything yet. Would you guys suggest contacting admissions about my status or waiting it out? The status page says they are rolling and will continue to give them out through the spring but I feel like I was done really early and should have maybe heard by now?
Idk but I'll tell you what the Dean told us at interview day.
He reviews the applications and decides who gets interviews. There are three types of applications.
Type 1: Applications the Dean thinks three people on the adcom would want to interview. These are the early interviewees.
Type 2: Applications the Dean thinks 1-2/3 people on the adcom would have a slight problem with. These are interviewees later in the season.
Type 3: Applications the Dean thinks the adcom would say "why did this kid even get an interview?". These are the rejections.
Feels bad man. So it's safe to say that if we end up getting a later interview, then we're gonna have a bad time? 😱

I guess I got a little bit of a different impression. I felt like he definitely sees the applications first, and then if he thinks you're clearly someone they'd want to interview, the invite goes out soon thereafter (type 1), or if you're clearly not, i.e. if multiple people on the committee would have problems with your application, then it results in a rejection (type 3). I thought type 2 was more like people whose applications he might have had some questions on/might think that a certain adcom member might particularly want to weigh in on, so he'd ask them about just those apps. My impression was that it influences how long your app takes to review, but not necessarily strictly how early or late you interview (that said, of course, the earliest interviews go to the 'type 1s' who submitted early).
So Fivo, eggs, everyone else, take mine and MedPR's impressions for what you will, but I definitely wouldn't despair at this point. Good luck!![]()

Accepted via status update!! Interviewed 10/17. First acceptance!
The Committee on Admissions at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine would like to thank you for your recent visit and interview. We appreciate the opportunity to meet with you and obtain additional information about your candidacy. The Committee has reviewed your application and is impressed with your credentials. Although we are unable to offer you a place in the entering class at this time, the Committee remains very interested in your application and we are going to place you on our Alternate list. Because acceptances are offered on a rolling basis throughout the year, we will continue to review your credentials for further consideration. If there is any change in your status, we will contact you immediately.
Congrats! I interviewed the same day as you. Here's hoping I get a decision today too. Did you send an update letter?

Did anyone who was accepted last week (10/16) receive anything in the mail yet? I had to send them an updated address so I just want to make sure I didn't miss anything I was supposed to get. If I remember correctly our portal messages mentioned that we would be mailed a packet. Thanks!!!
Sorry...I'm on that list right there with you, I really loved UC and I'm from Cincinnati so I'm extra sad about this one.
I know at the interview they said waitlist wouldn't be ranked until April and movement in May but from the status it makes it sound like our apps will be considered at every meeting......what do you think?

I was waitlisted today as well 🙁 (interviewed 10/17). Was hoping to get that first acceptance. Kind of surprised, thought the interview went really well. Stats are 35 MCAT, 3.95 GPA, Avg. ECs, OOS.
Ditto.
And I am confused about the waitlist part too. I agree that it sounded different in the status than as it was presented. Wonder if anyone has insight?
Ah, I've been on edge all day after seeing the first acceptance - and I interviewed 10/17. Nothing yet![]()
My status changed before I got the email. Have you checked?
