Do you know anyone else on hold? Gahh, it's so frightening to be on hold so early. What does this mean for our application?!?

No sadly, I don't know anyone else or have heard of anyone else on hold. I think it just means they want to compare us to more applications in the pool so that they can get a better idea of how we measure up. They don't want to say yes or no too quickly just in case better applicants are out there....

That's my guess at least. 😕

Does anyone think it is time to open up a Class of 2017 FB thread? I kind of want to (probably bc I'm really bored over break) but I don't want to before people have had time to make their decisions....

Any thoughts? Anyone else want one?

No harm in starting one right away, as I'm sure there are a few people who already made their decision. All the rest of us can join later in the year.

Sounds awesome. I am 98% sure I will go to UofL.

I need something to do for the next 24 hours. Why is the wait harder the closer the decision days get?

I'm just glad school starts tomorrow so I can have something new to focus on.

Who else is anxiously thinking about Louisville today?

Me!
I've been on edge all day and tomorrow will probably be worse! My fingers are crossed for everyone waiting on a decision! I'll post as soon as I hear something.

Hoping to hear good news tomorrow! Curious, did anyone ask/get asked about submitting their fall grades and if that would help the committee decision time?

Definitely me. So anxious to hear good news tomorrow!

Mbho222, I submitted a new official transcript to their office once my grades posted. No idea if it'll help much in their consideration.

Nothing yet...I know sometimes it will take them until 2 or later.

Yeah, just worried because it seems like the e-mails that come after lunch are always no decision! So frustrating.

It also seems as though the emails come out later each time.

When is second look? I've not gotten hardly and letters or emails since getting accepted.

Feb. 16th; not many details on BlackBoard yet, besides that an email will be sent late this month.

"The University of Louisville Admissions Committee has not made a decision on your file. Your file has not been wait listed.....blah blah blah"

Gahhhhhhhh.

"No decision" email for me! Ugh.. More waiting! :/

Gahhhhhhhh.

Same!!!

no decision, third time receiving that email, interviewed nov. 8th.

I just don't understand if they aren't discussing our files from fall interviews then what are they discussing?

Maybe they just didn't meet yesterday...

It's been two months, it seems like it should not take that long.

Who knows. I interviewed in October and have been getting this email ever since. No clue what is going on and I called to ask before and they just said "they only meet for a 2 hour block so they can only review who they get to."

If they only meet for two hours why do they only meet twice a month??

I'm sure it's because most members are physicians/students with other outside obligations who volunteer their time. Granted, it's still immensely frustrating on this side of it.

I interview mid October, and I know people who interviewed in November who have been accepted. I'm pretty sure they prioritize who they want to talk about in each meeting and who they want to discuss later. I would guess they look at in state people first (a lot of schools do). It's strange that they meet so infrequently though. Good luck everyone waiting!

I interviewed on Nov. 8th as well, and have been receiving the same "no decision" email since. Really wish they would just give me a decision!

How many more interview invites do you think will go out?

I would agree except UK does it in about one week so it's obviously possible to have a faster turn around even with busy doctors and students.

This school is better than most; most of the schools I am familiar with meet once each month.

But I bet that is not the norm.
Actually, of the 4 schools I applied to they all let you know within a week whether or not you were accepted. Louisville seems to be the odd one out.

Received my Admission Offer the 9th (4:03)! So excited! Good luck to everyone else still getting after it! Hope the 'No Decision' emails change for the best!

Congratulations!!! I'm glad to hear they looked at someone's file, lol. I'm hoping all of us no decisions get good news too.

Congrats!! Yay for someone getting an acceptance!!

Has anyone else looked through the app threads for the past few years? It seems like they stop accepting and start making the wait list as early as February. i'm starting to think that I'm destined for the wait list 🙁

hey ya'll

got the acceptance e-mail on Wednesday, very surprised, OOS not very exceptional stats (3.8/3.75) 34 (11VR, 12Bio/ 11PS)

interviewed 4Dec12.
I think working a year between university and med school really helped my application

good luck to all and let me know if ya'll have any questions.

The only schools that I know of that are that quick are DO schools.

Does UofL take this long every year to look at all the applications? Or is it just this year that they are seeming to be running so behind...?

I think this is about their usual pace, although, I wonder how much that cancelled meeting in November slowed things down.

Can't believe they are canceling again... now we have to wait until they meet again on Feb 12th. Waiting is def one of the worst parts about the med school application process.

wow, ditto, can't believe it. extremely frustrating but hopefully worth the wait. does anyone know why they are canceling??

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cancelled again!!!!!!!!! 🙁 🙁 🙁And I'm guessing they are doing all these cancellations because they can't get all the students, professors, and physicians to meet at the same time due to busy schedules. Just a guess though.

My application was complete on September 12th and I haven't heard a peep since... Are there any interview invites yet to go out? Or am I just floating until the next batch of rejections?
