I know I shouldn't expect the email until 5pm based on previous trends but I can't help checking my email all day.

I'll be glad to have a decision but it kind of sucks knowing that the best news today is going to be more waiting.

Waitlisted as well.
I'm still holding out hope for an acceptance come May, but I think I'm going to start preparing to reapply just in case.
I would love to go here!! I hope this long, horrendous wait is worth it!

I'm out, good luck to all of you on the waitlist.

Ditto. I'm going to start restudying and putting my application back together just in case. A waitlist is better than nothing at this point though.

Anyone have any idea of how large the alternate lists are? Specifically the instate if it differs from OOS?

Out as well. Good luck to everyone still hanging in there. Waiting to hear back on another school. If that's a no as well then I'll be going the D.O route and start in July/August. I also heard M.D.s and D.O.s are going for the same residencies/jobs now so....there are always other options if a M.D. program doesn't work out! So don't lose hope guys!

I keep requesting to joint the facebook group. (I was admitted in October.) I tried both the link on this page and the link in the email I was sent from the school, but no one has approved me yet. Is there a particular person I should contact?

Does anyone know if they are accepting updates/LOI if we have been wait listed?

Just got accepted to my top choice! I will be withdrawing my waitlist spot. Hopefully it helps one of you OOS'ers!

After a tough few months I decided to stay close to home and go to UK, so just withdrew my acceptance at UofL. Good luck to whoever gets my spot!

I have been deliberating over it for a while and also decided to give up my spot at Louisville (rural track). Best of luck to all of you out there on wait lists.

Any of my fellow waitlistees nervous about tomorrow? Here's to hoping for the top third of the list! Good luck everyone!

Also nervous about tomorrow... Do you have any idea of what time frame they might update our applications for us to know?
Fingers crossed for top third!!!

No idea, but ill probably check my status every hour!

Hey guys, I just received an email from Ms. Osborne saying that the rankings have been posted on the secondary application website. However, when I log on to the website it still doesn't show my rank. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm having the same issue... I don't know whether to call them or not. :/

I jus emailed Ms. Osborne. If I don't hear back from her within the next couple of hours, or if my rank is not posted on the website during that time, I'm going to call and figure out what's up. Can't believe that after waiting this long, we have to wait some more due to technical issues!!!

Middle third. Hoping that UK's extra seats this year do actually get approved and their waitlistees withdrawing from UofL opens up more positions than usual. However, I'm now going to shift my focus on fully pursuing my back up plans. Anyone have an idea of how many people are generally accepted from the respective wait list ranks each year for UofL?

Middle third as well. :/ Hoping the same as you, that the new UK spots open a lot more spots for us at UofL. All I know is that almost every year the top third get accepted and they start on the middle third. There's still no guarantee though... I tried booking an appointment with Ms. Osborne, and she's already booked into June. This is going to be a long, painful few months of waiting. 🙁

Mind sharing your stats? I'm trying to get a feel for where I might be on the middle third of the waitlist. I'm a non-trad; was in law school before deciding to pursue medicine.
MCAT: 31
Premed GPA: 3.1
Overall GPA: I rather not go there lol

Middle third, IS. From what I hear, that's not a great place to be but who knows? I'm sure it's different every year. Definitely have to start working on re-applying/back up plans

From what I've gathered by reading through the UofL application threads of the past, mostly none, if any, got in from the middle third IS waitlist last year, but mostly everyone from the middle third got in the year before. Wonder if they adjust the total number of waitlistees year to year based on prediction...I'm hoping they don't, that way UK increasing their seat number might move the wailtlist more than usual. When I interviewed at UK in January, they said that the seats had not been approved yet and that they were going to fill those seats (if approved) by people that they placed on the waitlist.

So tired of being on waitlists everywhere. Besides UofL med school, I am on waitlist at the University of Cincinnati and Georgetown University for their Special Masters Programs (back-up plans). Wish I'd get in somewhere so I can at least focus on a primary game-plan :-(

Withdrew recently. The people there are amazing and the environment seems great. I hope one of you guys gets my spot!

Hey all, withdrew my acceptance, but I'm OOS. Hope one of ya'll gets it!

Good luck everyone.

Thanks Doc and Pack...good luck to you both in med school!

Just wanted to let people know things are moving me and a friend of mine found out we got accepted off the waitlist yesterday. Hope the waitlist moves alot and quickly. Good luck and continue to persevere.

IS or OOS?
Thanks for sharing! Congrats!!

I was accepted off the OOS wait list, I will not be accepting the spot, i have decided to attend another school. best of luck to all!! 🙂

I got in off the IS waitlist on the 16th. I have decided to go to UK instead, so hopefully one of you IS-ers will get my spot. Good luck to everyone still waiting! I know how hard it is 🙁

Thanks for sharing! It's nice to know that the list is at least moving.

as stated earlier got in on the 16th, I forgot to mention top third IS

Hey all. I just joined to let everyone know that I just received an admission offer yesterday, May 23. I was in the middle third IS so looks like they have made it into that group. Good luck to everyone else still waiting.

Hooray, they're in the middle third!! Thank you so much for sharing and congrats on the acceptance!

does anyone have a remote idea as to how many people are on each third of the waitlist? I can't believe they already made it to the middle third IS list (that's where I am!)

To those of you waiting, I so know how that goes and hope you hear soon! To those of you moving to Louisville KY, congrats! My husband and I have both been grad students living in this area, have finished our studies (yay!) and are moving on.

When we decided to move to Louisville, we were living in Brisbane, Australia at the time. We knew NOTHING about the area. We were very fortunate to have stumbled upon Southern Indiana as a much more affordable area to settle in while we completed our studies. We have lived here five years (with four small children) and it has been wonderful. The commute to school is 15 minutes to 25 minutes, depending upon the traffic at the time. The cost of living is significantly lower on this side of the Ohio river.

Yes, we are in the process of selling our home right now, but mostly I just wanted to put this information out there to anyone relocating, especially if you have children, and tell you that I would be so happy to share the information we have acquired over the last 5 years living here. This truly is a fabulous area for families - a great zoo, science center, parks, etc., and we are going to miss it.

Anyone get a background check request by chance? I'm still on the wait list but I got that email today and was curious if anyone knew what that might mean.

Yeah, I got the same thing. Seems like they send it to everyone on the wait list. I wish it was a sign of an eventual acceptance... being on the wait list has been brutal.

Not sent to everyone on the wait list.

Well the only others I know who filled it out had already been accepted

Hmm... I have no idea what it could mean then! I guess we'll just have to wait and see.. ugh. Ill post if/when I hear something. Hang in there, everyone!

Def not sent to everyone on the wait list, because I sure didn't get one.

A. Did you check your Spam folder?
B. If there is nothing in your Spam folder, then I would contact the admissions office. I think's it reasonable to reach out to them after getting a background request.
C. It's better to find out today then have to wait until Monday to call the office.
