Does Michigan send rejections out only after they have given out all their interview invites?
Having been complete since 7/9, I am not optimistic about my chances. We are now at the unfortunate point in our review process where we will begin to close files. Our first set will be sent Monday.

any rejections yet?
I think so. My status says, "Your application has been reviewed. At this point we are not able to offer you an interview. Your file remains "open" and eligible for additional reviews. Final decisions for all candidates will be made the first week in February. Thank you for your patience."
Should I take that as a rejection?
It kind of sucks because I thought I had pretty good stats (3.9, 38), I guess I'm just too good for them😀

hm i still have the "file complete-under review" status, but have had that since late july, so I figured I was just on hold
Contacted Michigan about a LOI that I had written. Sent it just a bit ago through their upload documents tab. Will let you all know how it goes!
"I've received questions about Letters of Interest/Intent--neither are considered as part of our process." From their twitter on Friday.
I'm not saying it'll hurt, just that it seems like a waste of time. I'm a Michigan grad and would instantly cancel every other app if they accept me, but I'll just hope they give me an interview so I can express that to them.
Does Michigan offer automatic interviews? If so, what kind of numbers are they looking for? I think I didn't get one because I was complete pretty late (09/12). I've heard of people getting invites before they submit their secondaries, is this true or are they just trying to make me feel bad?
They do offer automatics, but it seems you need to be pretty special to get one. I'm not sure if they're offering them still, but the did earlier in this year (July for the most part). My high school buddy was offered one after submitting AMCAS on ~6/9. His number are close to these:
3.9+, 37S, IS(!), father attended for MD, and 4 years of research/volunteering/shadowing with fantastic letters.
I have those numbers and no auto-invite for me lol
It's a hit or miss. Also, he was in-state (likely a significant factor). For all I know the OOS numbers may be 3.9+, >37, along with those other additions to your application. Keep in mind their average MCAT last year was a 34.2, ranging from 26-43*.
*43?!?!? Dear God!
I have those numbers and no auto-invite for me lol

People who have already interviewed: Michigan has said they tell you at your interview the day you will hear your decision. What is the time interview between interview and decision date?
another thursday gone. Still "under review" 🙁
CalBear - Does your status page still just say interview scheduled?
update from admissions tracker 10/1:
Applications Received: 4806
Interviews Offered: 364
pretty intersting since the last update around sept was around 300 interviews offered. I thought by now they would have already given out close to 450/600. This gives me a slight bit of hope!
Yeah, saw that too! Also, according to the tracker, somebody applied OOS with a MCAT of 7...
"will be a significant number of interview offers today" but no invite... Time to accept my rejection 🙁
Depends on when you interview. For the majority (if not all) of those prior to Oct 15, they will find out at some point on that day. I believe there is a PDF somewhere on the UM website listing days they offer interviews and days the committee comes together to make decisions. My guess would be after that date is when a decision is released.
does anyone know how long between application complete and II?

From the twitter:
"Outcomes from 9/7 and 9/14 interview dates: 65% Accept-10% Defer-25% Waitlist-0% Reject."
Pretty high % of acceptances. Getting so antsy... one more week.

Holy crap, I wonder if the acceptance rate drops precipitously with later and later interview dates![]()
