I would figure that the very highly qualified applicants hear back sooner, and as we progress through the year that the time to be notified gets longer... Just a guess though. Tomorrow marks four weeks for me, so I'm just sitting back and relaxing, haha... Unless I get a letter in the mail instead. :scared:😀

Does the call come from a 651/612/952 number?

Others who have actually gotten in already may be more qualified to answer this question, but from what I remember from last cycle was that the call will come from a 612 number. Hopefully we will be receiving a call soon! :xf:

I'm curious if I have been reviewed yet, how long does it usually take to receive the letter if you have been waitlisted?

It came from a 612 number.

Has anybody that's gotten in received information about submitting the deposit? Does it come in the mail or by email? I haven't received it yet and I don't know whether to call or not.

They told me they'd mail it, but I have yet to receive it

Alright then, if an unknown 612 number calls me, I'll be sure to pick it up... 😀

Since it's quiet... Not me, but another of the PMODs got an II here (TC campus) last week. She was complete in August and was OOS with above-matriculate averages.

Thanks for that. ..Nice to see the PMOD fam stickin together! ...I sent in the TC supp mid/late September. Crossing fingers for an II sooner rather than later, but any time will do. :luck:

They're switching the deposit method to an online system, that's why we haven't received our letters yet. Hopefully soon!

Anybody know which complete dates are currently getting interview invites? I'm about 9/20 still haven't heard anything

Mid to late August or at the very most early September. Of course, there are probably some outliers.

So based on your intel, when would you predict the mid-late September folks with reasonably competitive applications catching word?

Based on my intel, I read a couple posts earlier on in this thread and compared it to the last II I know of, and I have no additional knowledge regarding the University of Minnesota's application process.

So I'm guessing within the next month... or two.

Be aware, if history proves similar, the process here is pretty slow and they interview and accept applicants over a very long period of time and acceptances go into the late next summer. They also accept >50% of MN applicants they interview.

Thanks for explaining. At least one fact is known: This process cannot be hurried!

They talked about it during my interview day too. They said that the process is a little slow, but it's because they review everyone's application so thoroughly

tomorrow marks 6-week post-interview for me... I wish I can get a 612 phone call.

oh baby, just got the acceptance package yesterday 🙂

to everyone who is still waiting to hear a decision, i know what it feels like. this is my second time applying and i was rejected from the U during my first application cycle. once you get that large envelope in the mail not just from here, but from any school, you'll realize it was worth the wait. go gophers!

When were you accepted? I got the call last Tuesday and still have not received the package yet.

I was accepted last week too and have not recieved the package. What information did they include?

i got the call on oct 15. the package includes the acceptance letter, declaration of intent form (you have to send in the mail), instructions on how to pay the deposit (online), aamc rules on accepting a seat in med school, financial aid info, and housing info. it looks like you guys should be getting the mail soon

Twin Cities interview invite just now. In-state, complete ~9/20

II about an hour ago! IS, 31S, 3.65 cgpa ( I was complete 9/10). Interview dates available were for December.

(II is for Twin Cities Campus)

Well its safe to say my anxiety is through the roof now. 6 weeks post TC interview and no word yet. My neuroticism is definitely peaking right now. I want to call and ask so bad, but I know that there's still time left to wait haha

Just over 6 for me. I keep expecting something in the mail, but maybe there is still hope...

I'm right at about five weeks, so a bit short of you guys/gals, but I've joined the anxiety train haha...

I'm excited for all of you--I hope I end up being classmates with you all! :

I'm cheering for you guys!

Congrats to those who have received II's and even more congrats to those who were recently offered seats! Unfortunately I'm heading into the weekend w/o a TC II and I'm bummin cuz I see they've finally reached applications from my submission time period... Dare I ask how bad of a sign this is???

Did you send them an ITA email? People mentioned it worked earlier on in this thread.

Of course it's probably too late now if you haven't, but they just started those II dates, don't worry. If you're competitive you have a very good shot.

Didn't send any communication post-supp. In reading last year's forum I got the impression they didn't care to receive these. Oh well, as you say - probably pointless to send one now. Regardless, thanks for your perspective. I'll remain optimistic and keep the fingers crossed!

Everything happens for a reason. Good luck! 🙂

They definitely come back to previous submission dates. I was pretty darn early, but if I remember correctly, I was actually "passed over" initially and got what appeared to be the next round... This also happened to me the first time I interviewed here a handful of years ago...

Regarding updates/in-the-area stuff, I'd be careful... I know they have asked applicants not to send pre- or post-interview updates, so this may apply to other items too, but I'm no expert--I just see the door to their office on a daily basis.

There's definitely still PLENTY of hope for you and PLENTY of time! :luck:

I can't imagine they'd penalize you if you're from far away and will happen to be ITA. It's a pretty typical convenience request for applicants. Just make sure your reason is valid and truthful. However, if you're from Minneapolis, I don't think they'll look favorably upon that 😉 Each school is different, though!

Same here. I will cross my fingers for us both that the coming week brings some news!

This friday will mark 7 weeks post interview for me. This has been a brutal wait. Come on TC show me some cuz i love your school!!!

I know that feel. This Friday will be 6 weeks post interview for me and I'm getting very anxious over on my end. I would assume they're pretty busy over there at this point in the cycle, so decisions might take a bit longer. Here's to hoping we get some good news soon! :xf:

Interview invite to TC!! Complete 9/14. cGPA 3.5, sGPA 3.4, MCAT 40. OOS, but with strong MN ties.

Congrats! I'm jelly

Edit: Your avatar is awesome. Buffy basically consumed my childhood.

Edit #2: !!!! You inspired me to check my email yet again today and I got an II also!!! Complete 9/16, interviewing 12/10!

To those of you waiting it could possible be a while...Monday will be eight weeks for me so I called a day or two ago. I guess my application still needs to go to final review with the committee.

I just interviewed at Minnesota-Duluth and it was awesome! There were only two other people interviewing with me that day which made it a lot more intimate than my other interview at a school with a larger entering class. The admission staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The two different hour long interviews were very conversational and covered a lot of what was on my application. They both seemed to have looked over it quite a bit beforehand and asked me specific things about my experiences. After the interviews we went on a tour of the medical school and parts of the surrounding campus. The medical school is connected to the rest of UMD and it all seems like basically one huge building. We had lunch in the cafeteria where you could use the voucher to get whatever kind of food you wanted and had plenty of time to ask the students lots of questions. There didn't seem to be a ton of study space in the medical school itself, but the close UMD library is very new and nice. I'm a library studier so I really wanted to see what it was like. I got a chance to meet a lot of the students and they all seemed very content with their experience there. I'm sure having such a small class really allows students to get to know their classmates very well.

The city of Duluth is also beautiful, and I enjoyed the smaller-town feel. Overall, a really great experience. Hoping to hear some good news! If anyone has any specific questions about the day, feel free to ask!
