If you are OOS then maybe. But with those stats I'd be suprised if you didn't get a secondary. If your in state then it's highly unlikely. Additionally, are you mstp or a reapplicant? It seems unc is going through first time applicants first. I wouldent worry though. If ur concerned you could always give admissions a call. They are super friendly.
 
yes, first time applicant...Don't wanna call them, because I think it would make it seem like I'm entitled to a secondary...and I don't wanna convey that..UNC is one of my top choices.

I'm a first time IS applicant with no secondary yet (stats are a below avg), I'm thinking they are going through all the applicants with awesome stats first as far as secondaries/II go, and going to sift through the rest of us. Then again this is wishful thinking 😎
 
I got an interview off today (OOS). Very excited, I've liked UNC for a long time.

Only reason I said call is bc you should have received something like. We have received your primary app. From unc.
 
submitted my secondary 7/31 and no ii yet. anyone else from that date also waiting?
 
IS reapplicant--received secondary request 8/17 (abt 2 weeks after being verified), submitted a couple of days later.

This is my third time applying. Applied REALLY late last two years-like November. Got an interview first time, rejected pre-secondary 2nd time. I called admissions a month or so ago and they told me without an SMP or post bac I didn't have a chance. I was shocked when I got a secondary. Really trying not to get my hopes up, but it's tough! UNC is a great school and Chapel Hill will always be home.
 
i submitted my secondary on 8/1 and i'm waiting for an interview too

I definitely don't have awesome stats at all (3.52/3.46/34Q) and I have an interview invite. UNC, from what I heard, is pretty slow in this process and I am sure you will receive a secondary soon. They are likely just backed up now.

Does anyone know what kind of time table UNC operates on for OOS applicants? I just submitted my supplementary app today, and I'm trying to figure out about how long I should expect to wait to find out if I'm getting an interview or not.
 
i just got my secondary...and it really turned me off...

Did you receive a "complete" or "secondary received" e-mail? I submitted my secondary and have not heard anything since then.

IS with 3.64c/3.57s/35. I did not get an email specifically confirming secondary receipt, other than the payment notification immediately after paying for and submitting it.
 
I only received a payment confirmation e-mail, not a notification of actual receipt of my app.
 
IS submitted secondary 8/3, waiting to hear back about interview
 
if you are an in-state first time app you automatically get an interview

Well following that line of thought, at least you didn't get extended an interview because chances are you would've been rejected and wasted a LOT more money! Whew, dodged THAT bullet! 👍
 
i know some of you are probably interviewing next week, just wanted to say good luck and don't stress yourselves out too much!

So, can I have your thoughts please. The first available interview at Wake is October 31st, and I would like to schedule Chapel Hill around the same time so that I didn't have to buy two $350 plane tickets. Do you think it would be detrimental to schedule my interview at Chapel Hill that late as opposed to October 16th or so?

any IS reapps get the residency form request. anyone know if that is good or means anything at all? just got it today... last time i applied it all came together so i dunno!!

I got the in-state residency request form today too. I don't think it means anything, but who knows! 🙂

I was wondering the same thing, looked through old forums and couldn't really find any answers. At least we know it can't be a bad sign!

While you're technically right, screw that feeling. Silent rejections are horrible.
 
Interviewed here recently, and thought Id give my thoughts.

First off, it really is incredible. Great tour, great students, great faculty, they really made the whole day relaxed and ejoyable. The group I was with were all friendly students and we all got along great. There is quite a bit of socializing throughout the day which I preferred because it didnt seem like a traditional interview day, it was instead pretty fun. As far as the interview goes, it was relaxed. I had 2 interviewers who had my AMCAS right in front of them and would either ask me pointed questions about my app or simply talk to me about life and myself as a student. No off the wall ethical scenarios or questions.

So yeah overall its everything it was hyped up to be, great school and great people.

Wish you all the best of luck here on your interviewers! The waiting till october no begins haha.
 
Thanks for sharing GSB, I'm just doing my last minute preparations for tomorrow and am already so in love with this school. Can't wait to meet some students and get through the interviews!
 
So maybe this is a stupid question, but I know that at one point in time you could access the questions that people reported being given during their interview at a specific school. Is that gone now or can I just not find it...?
