I rarely get replies to thank you emails. I wouldn't worry about it!

Hey zeppelin. I haven't interviewed or have an interview at Rochester. But I saw your post and thought I'd offer my opinion based on my other interviews. After each I email my interviewers and tell them thank you. I think out of maybe 10 interviewers who I've emailed thus far, I've gotten 5 responses. Usually at each school 1 out of 2 or 3 interviewers will respond. And other times neither will respond. I don't think a response to a thank you is in any way a reflection I your performance, and isn't necessarily required by the interviewer. So I wouldent send a thank you note in addition to the email because of you send them an email they received it.

Phew okay. Thanks guys! Yeah, this app process has got me pretty anxious.

I can't recall how they said they would notify applicants but they definitely said Oct 15 or 16 we would hear something. I interviewed back in August

No II for me either, doing well at schools that had good secondaries and gave me more of a chance to express myself, but no word here. Not sure why.

it varies by the schools but I think for a lot there are deposits required to hold a spot in the class. I am pretty sure its $100 for Rochester. the MSAR has information about deposits both online and in the book if you have access.

JUST GOT ACCEPTANCE EMAIL!!!! Totally pumped. A top choice for sure. Interviewed early October (but one of my interviews was with a member of admissions comittee which may have helped speed up decision...in general they said 6-8 weeks from interview date).

33Q/3.8 gpa's

Reapplicant to medical schools this year. 2 acceptances so far. Don't give up hope.

Received an email that I have been placed on the waitlist this morning. I would like to send an LOI further explaining my interest in the school and desire to to attend but this is the message in the email:

"In the interim, it is very important that you notify us if you wish to remain under consideration here at Rochester. Please send us a short note if you wish to remain on the Waiting List. Include in your note a telephone number and email address where you can be reached in the spring and summer months. "

Do you think I should avoid a detailed reply? Or do you think they would be receptive to a LOI?

I got the same email 🙁 adopted not to send a detailed email at this point. It explained there will not be wait list movement until late spring early summer so waiting a little while to send a loi shouldn't be an issue.
