OMG! After dozens of groupon, living social, and youtube digest scaring me with every worthless e-mail, I finally got my first interview invite at USC! So excited!

I bet there are very few people with later submission dates than me that got interviews. I can't believe the fast turnaround time.

Secondary Complete: 9/7/12
Interview Invite: 9/13/12

sGPA: 3.63
cGPA: 3.71
MCAT: 35M

My stats are not anything amazing, but I think my secondary is what really helped me out. Every person that I told my essay idea about told me that it was a really creative idea.

A 35 is pretty amazing. Give credit where credit is due, holmes. ;-) GL at the interview!

Haha thanks, its definitely a competitive score, but many people with higher stats and earlier complete dates have not received IIs. I think I'm just lucky or they may have heard about my world renown good looks and were dying to get a picture of me. Either way, I'll take it.

Same here, I was verified 9/10 but haven't received it yet either. Hopefully we'll get it soon :xf:
 
No surprise here since my last MCAT was way below my average: rejected today via email. At least I still have Drew/UCLA, PRIME/UCLA, Loma Linda, and Western U Pomona in my back pocket. Good luck to the rest of you.

Sorry to hear that, I got the rejection email today too. Hope you get another one of those in California! All I have left is Stanford (haha), and UCLA and UCSD (which haven't given me secondaries, so probably rejections there as well).🙁

Guess I ain't going to school in Cali, rejected today. Only applied to one Cali school though.
 
If you dont mind me asking, when were you guys complete?
 
Never got an email but submitted 7/10 and probably complete within two weeks of that.

I'm surprised I haven't been rejected yet from this school. Complete 7/6 and my stats are low.

this is a good sign for you since two people who were complete 7/10 and 7/11 were rejected today. so you likely got funneled on through to the next screening...
i am hoping for the same :xf:😍
 
Got an invite yesterday night as well! Complete a looong time ago. Thought I was out of the running, guess not! Can't wait to visit LA. Will be there October 23.

Do you think they based my app on my MCAT score I took in April? My new MCAT score got released two days ago and then I got a rejection email. I don't think they are this fast.

They might have considered your app without your most recent MCAT score initially and then revisited your app after your most recent score came out.

I was complete on Friday night 9/7, so I'm guessing they probably reviewed my app on monday 9/10 at the earliest. I heard back from them on 9/13, so maybe they are just exceptionally fast ... kind of like trains. choo choo

First MCAT in april was a 21 (8-6-7) and then in august it was a 28 (10-9-9)
I understand if i get rejected in a week or so, but in 2 days? that seems quick unless they have a prescreening tool or something. its okay. I'll just keep chugging along.

hmmm...it's quick but there are a few people in this thread who were rejected 1-2 days after submitting their secondary.. so it is likely that they waited for the next score. congrats on the increased score btw. you can always call and ask.. good luck to you!
 
Both scores are below their average. They probably waited to see if your new score was within the range and when it wasn't officially rejected you. There was someone earlier in the thread that got rejected even before they viewed her new mcat score. Guess that's just how they do things.
 
I was complete 7/16 and have not heard anything. 34, 3.7, IS. Don't know what to expect.

They don't seem to be shy about rejections so I'd consider yourself still in the running! At least thats what I'm telling myself haha complete 7/9 IS 33 3.8 and waiting anxiously! :xf:

Baby girl, please reconsider. We could have been so good together. I would have paid for anything you asked me to because you deserve it. I know you can do so much better than me, but I can't stand the thought of you with some one else. Give me a second chance (rejected from undergrad), I know I'll make things right. I'm more mature and have experienced a lot during these past four years. I know you can make it work with anyone, but we belong together because what we have is real.

well the fact that you were rejected from USC as an undergrad is a good thing. Unless you can get a trustee/presidential or some other really good financial aid deal USC at the undergrad level is not worth it(too expensive).. go to a cheap UC school for undergrad and than USC for graduate/professional level since USC is way better than most UC school at the professional/graduate level and about even with the two best ones in most fields and better in a few of them.
 
Does USC not require any photos to be sent or uploaded? I didn't see it in the secondary website.
 
Is it worth sending a letter of interest before an interview invite or status change? I really don't want to be rejected early since I love this school!

I mentioned in that what would you change to increase the word limit to 1300 words. Or introduce a section where I can alternatively photo document what activities I would do in the three hour period.
 
I saw before that a bunch of people got rejected within a week after submitting.

I submitted 8/26, what should I be expecting or is this whole process just random?

Photos are only required if invited to interview.

LOI / Updates are accepted only if you have been invited to interview. Otherwise they are disregarded.
