There are none in my class. There are a bunch of people born outside of the US, but they definitely went to college in the States.

Good luck to those of you who haven't heard back yet and double luck to any of you interviewing tomorrow!

As a reminder, you should all feel free to PM me with any questions about the school or anything else. I'd love any excuse to avoid studying renal physiology. I'm a MS2 so I've spent a good chunk of time here, and I'm still convinced it's the best med school ever and will keep getting better for years to come.

So the people who were born outside the US and went to college in the states are green card holders? Just making sure if they might be international students who went to college here. Thanks.

The students I've talked to about being born outside of the States are naturalized citizens, but there are some that I've never asked about their residency status.

You can always email [email protected] to get a direct answer.
 
So I'm going to guess that because there is little movement on this thread, the day of reckoning that we thought would come today has actually not occurred? Or has all of the sdn community managed to survive this wave of rejections?

man I am nervous beyond belief. my stats are not stellar at all. but i've done research at Keck and that's what i'm banking on hopefully i get an II. hope every one else has had good news!!!
 
been trying to avoid this thread but here I am... was kind of sick on friday expecting a rejection... surprised not to see any action as of late.. anyone hear anything in the past 5 days??
 
I'm so stoked for my upcoming interview, but I have one seemingly random question about interview day...

Anyone know what is served for lunch? Lol, it seems really stupid to ask, but lunch will be served before my afternoon interviews and I am deathly afraid of spilling something on my clothes and looking like a total slob. I am just terrible at not getting part of my meal on my clothes, so just a heads up would be nice!

Turkey club wraps, salad, lemonade (or water) and some desert-type stuff like cookies. All seemed like low-spillage stuff. If I'm forgetting anything, please chime in.
 
I understand there are thousands of applicants that fill out the secondary correctly, but if I forgot to answer the "where is your favorite place in the world" question, should I consider myself rejected?

Not necessarily, if there's something insanely unique about you that no one else has... but leaving part of the secondary blank really won't help you. It's an easy way to screen. Maybe try and email admissions and see if they'll let you do anything about it?

On Yale's secondary, they specifically say not to put "-current" when listing dates for activities/work experience because it's misleading. I didn't see this until later and my first three activities were listed as exactly that. I'm interviewing in a few weeks.

Not USC, but I don't think such a small thing will hinder you. Hopefully you get an II, if not just so you don't have to spend the rest of your life wondering....dang, what if I had just answered that one question, haha (joking) 🙂

I got an II to Keck today via e-mail =)

I figured I would share this with you all to maybe help ease the anticipation. I have been following this thread and have seen the Thankful Thursday/Fearful Friday pattern. Anyways, hopefully this will help make Thursdays/Fridays less stressful!

II as well today! Complete 7/19. Soo no rejection yet might be a good sign of things to come! Hang tight everyone.
 
Uh oh, my status page changed to "application has not been submitted" after two months of being complete. Let's see how long it takes to get the rejection email 🙁

well it's obviously a glitch.. Nothing you did, wouldn't worry about it..
 
I hope this will alleviate your fears of getting a rejection from the wacky status page. I got an II yesterday and I checked my status page today to see if it was a glitch (for y'alls sanity) and the same thing shows up on mine. So it is most likely a glitch! There's nothing to worry about!

Wouldn't it be great if USC's way of telling us we have an interview is to mark our applications as not been submitted? Fingers crossed?

haha that is the sickest thing i've heard so far. but after filling out their secondary application i wouldn't be surprised if they did that :laugh:

here's to us hope we all get II's soon!!
 
My status says everything is complete and ready...
Been complete since mid-August.
 
They must have fixed the glitch. Things are back to normal on my status page now.
 
Don't worry guys, I called the Keck adcom around five times this morning. Each time they reassured me I hadn't been rejected yet, and it was this was just a glitch. My status page has returned to normal, so I think I'll go ahead and call them again to verify.

Yeah, I think he was mocking our response to the confusing computer glitch by making an excessive-sounding comment. The fact that he says "I think I'll go ahead and call them again to verify" definitely suggests sarcasm/mockery. It was well-deserved though.

Oh I see, five times is far too believable for SDN members... Maybe I should have said that I called 15 times, or mentioned that I was sobbing while spoke. Nah, that doesn't sound sarcastic either. :meanie:

my friend also got an interview. she said that interview invites = you have a 70% chance of getting in..

It's a possibility at this point in the cycle, but overall, that is completely false.
