No need to go crazy on the prep. Both the student and faculty interviews were relaxed. If anything just look over your secondary responses and your primary app. Good luck!

Yeah, you don't need to prep much. But I would look at SDN's interview feedback section where it lists common interview questions. These were _very_ helpful to me 🙂.

What the what? Another round of rejections yesterday and I still got nothing! I've been complete since August, so that's really weird to me. You'd think by now they might have made a decision.

+1, except I've been complete since late July. I hope that means we're still in the running, but at the same time I'm really curious as to why it's taking this long.

+1 likewise. complete since mid july! o.0

I guess we're just wonderfully average 👎

congrats to new acceptances/IIs, and sorry to those who have been rejected.

i was put on the waitlist a few weeks ago, can't believe i have to undergo another several month long agonizing waiting period. although i will try my best to get in via a letter of intent.

good luck everyone with IIs!

Suggestions on the best airport to fly into? I know Burbank and LAX are similar distances from the health sciences campus. Where do people generally fly?

Flying into Burbank is usually a little more expensive. If I were you, I would land at LAX and then take the FlyAway shuttle straight to Union Station (should be under $10). From Union, you can take USC's free shuttle to the health campus.

Thanks! That's really helpful. I looked on the website and they had shuttle and highway info but no suggestion on airports.

EDIT: Found the info I was looking for. I hate asking before I've adequately looked 😛

+1, though for me it'd be from the Westwood area (don't judge me 😀)

II yesterday! totally unexpected. completed early August. 3.82/34

Does anyone know USC is receptive to LOI pre-interview? thanks!

I don't think so, otherwise I would be on that!

Ugh USC is tied for my #1 choice, I'm currently an undergrad student and have a higher gpa/mcat than there average and they don't want to invite me :[

Maybe it's your spelling? *their

Just kidding

Anyone think it would be a stupid idea to drop by their admissions office and ask them if Updates/LOI are accepted. I know the answer is No, but maybe they'll say yes to a current student! (USC is known for taking care of its students/having a lot of school pride/ networking) lol. I research at the health science campus so it wouldn't be out of the way.

Worth a shot I guess. At this stage what do you have to lose?

Commutable? Yes

From the OC? Heck no

Unless you want to be driving an hour minimum (2 or 2.5 in traffic) to class, then sure. But definitely not worth it.

Eh. I've commuted from Keck to the OC. Is it the best drive? No. The 5 sucks. The 5 at rush hour really sucks. But it's doable if you really want/have to do it. Lots of traffic, lots of gas money, and lots of quality time with your car. Depending on where in the OC, it's about 40 minutes with no traffic, ~1 hour in average traffic, ~1.5 hours in bad traffic, 2 hours plus+ in friday afternoon/holiday weekend traffic.

ahh and there it is.

Rejected just now. Pre-II, complete in July. Goodluck everyone!

Me too. Was wondering when the ball was going to drop. Complete in July. Boo. 🙁

Yup there it is, a rejection....
But at least I stuck around until January.....

Finally rejected! Complete in July as well.

Wonder if they are going back to the whole thursday rejection, friday interview thing

Anyone get a Certiphi background check for USC yet?

Somehow I'm still in the running, if I bypassed this huge wave

Complete in mid-July. I feel like I'm on borrowed time right now. My rejection (pre-interview) should be coming shortly.

Oh okay good. I saw that too. Seemed interesting except that it ends 5 days before class starts 😱 and you have to be URM.

Not specifically for USC (as I was complete mid July but haven't heard a peep) but I got the Certiphi email yesterday for other schools I was accepted/waitlisted at... its pretty quick to fill out, unless you actually have anything they'd need to check in on 😉

Anyone else having trouble with certiphi, specifically the signature plug in part? I downloaded it but it doesn't work for me

no probs with it... although my signature looked like crap. you have to have silverlight (at least for a mac) to get it to work.
