Does anyone know if the class is filled and the people interviewing in February are interviewing for a seat or rather a waitlist spot?

Thanks.

I would say its about half full as they have had 2 decision days (Oct and Dec) with the next one coming up on Feb 1 and one more (in march??). That's my logic at least.

Just two more weeks until the next decision date! Didn't hear anything last time, but I'm crossing my fingers for good news in February.

II just now. two dates left in jan, plenty in feb, and one date in march.

I received the "may" status this morning following a hold for grades (9/28), and grade submission (1/14). Hope there is still time!

I just received the "may" status as well. That's not as good as the further status right?

I don't know which one is better but I received II two weeks after receiving the further status but I have had a few unexpected good surprises this cycle.

The schools all know how neurotic we are at this point. "May" vs. "further" doesn't matter nearly as much as "invited to interview" or (even better) "accepted."

(From a month-long "may" who is happy for the "furthers" who got invited to interview...but feeling a bit jealous.)

If I got my interview invite last Wednesday, when do I have to confirm the interview by? Is it 11:59 pm this Wednesday night? Or 5 pm EST or whenever the Admissions Office closes? I know it's a strange question to ask, but for personal reasons I need to know what time I must decide by.

Not sure, best thing to do would be to just call the admissions office. They're very friendly.

Got invited to the second look. I thought I would post the date here for others in case they haven't received it yet or might want the information in the future. It will be Saturday, April 6th. Looks like the new addition will be open for students to look at.

Have you been admitted? Just wondering if they're inviting only those admitted or those who have already interviewed and are waiting on a decision.

For anyone who is also wondering: the answer is 6 pm EST

community college credits? does it make a difference?

Interviews here are generally pretty relaxed. Even our more intense faculty who are on the adcom are generally pretty kind w interviewees from what my classmates have said. All said and done, their goal is to get to know you so they can evaluate you for fit here. No one is going to be honest or vulnerable when grilled, so that's counterproductive. They want to see who you really are and what makes you tick. Hiding that from them or seeming insincere will hurt you (as will showing them a side of you that is clearly not a good "fit" for the class they are hoping to create, of course).

While my interview was laid back, it was not very conversational. The interviewer had a standard set of questions ready which she asked all applicants (to judge everyone on an even playing field), and they mostly consisted of behavioral questions about how you work in a group, how you resolve conflicts, react to stress, etc. She was very friendly, and sometimes the answers would branch off into off topic conversations, but she did want to get through the questions.

A bit more formal than some other interviews I'd been to, but not in any way confrontational or intimidating.

My interview went for about an hour. It was very conversational at times, however there were those standard behavioral questions that they asked. I would say a majority of my interview was conversational and I felt like my interviewer took away what I would've wanted to tell the committee if I could do so myself.

My interview was pretty relaxed and lasted about an hour. My interviewer did ask the standard questions, along with questions about my grades, challenges I have encountered academically and how I overcame them. Some other questions I got asked were: describe what was the most interesting thing I learned from my clinical experience and what Clichebomber said, questions about what I did to solve a group conflict and how I relieve stress. I also had many great opportunities to show my personality and who I am as a person, with the conversation in between questions. We even talked about our mutual interest in the Harry Potter books.

Good luck!

community college credits? does it make a difference?

I have some in science classes but not in the biggies (Chem, Physics, Bio). I also had a letter from a CC prof. (took A&P, and it was my favorite class ever). Didn't seem to hurt me.

The two docs I was working with tonight are on the adcom and were reminiscing about their interviewees from last year who are now here at MCV. It came up because one of my classmates at this clinic with me was interviewed by one of the docs and they remembered each other. They are both great docs and great guys. Hopefully, some of you will have interviews with them coming up. Good luck, all -- and esp. to L*****, who's staying with us esta semana.

I think that it would be smart that we have a facebook group, where we can meet who will be sharing the next four years with with! This will also help people find roommates too!

Invite anyone you know who has gotten in to join the group! The more people we get from our class, the more help this group will be!

Can't wait to meet all of you in a few months!

Friday is almost here. If I don't get in, I think i'll probably scream at the top of my lungs... and then continue with the cycle. I have two more interviews and I'm tired of going. I'm grateful I get the chance and there are others who want that spot but it's so stressful and expensive.

Guys stick to the Facebook group created by one of your future classmates over a month ago. I will try to post this link every acceptance date so there's no confusion. Good luck to everyone!

That is an invalid URL... so if he can fix it great, or we'll move to the new one. I searched every way someone could have MCV, VCU, Class of 2017 and nothing ever came up.

Weird, it worked for me and it still does. I am not a member of the group either.

For those who interviewed recently and in the morning (before lunch/hospital tour), when have you all been actually finishing your interview day?

I hear you, hope we all hear good news tomorrow!! :luck::luck::luck:

Anyone know what time during the day decisions will be relayed? Also, would it be via email or their website?

To my understanding, those accepted will receive an email shortly after 6p tomorrow instructing you to check your status as it has changed. Then there, it will be the acceptance.

I was a speaker at VCU's sustainability conference today...thought I'd pop over to the admissions office and see if I can get my decision early...nope. Denied.

And yea, she said we will find out a little after 6pm.

Dang so that will be 3 PM pacific. Thought I was going to be able to wake up and check my status!
