Pretty sure you have interviews with both programs, but I'm guessing you called and you know that now.

Just received the dreaded un-open-able pdf file

My luck has run out! Looks like the first rejection for me this cycle.

Pre-season #1 pick as well...damn.

I had no problems opening mine but that did not help much. 5th rejection in a row.

Opening with Chrome didn't work, switched to Firefox and all good.

First rejection as well... life goes on, what's meant to be is meant to be, *insert another cliche justifying statement*, and so on so forth 🙂.

Just don't send them directly to your interviewers. Remember UCSF has a policy that you shouldn't contact your interviewers directly.
 
Just got the pre-secondary rejection email. Completed 10/24. It was quite a reach but still disheartening. Good luck everyone!
 
Why this thread is so silent for over a week now? Has anyone received any updates lately?

Well last week was Thanksgiving week which probably has something to do with it. I think the news will start to pick up again now.
 
lol wow, just received a secondary. not sure if its even worth doing it by now, considering how late it is, plus how long this damn thing is...

Take a second look...There are zero questions except an activities update unless you're applying to a special program. I finished it in 5 min.

He's a MSTP applicant (based on his other posts). They might have a different secondary app.

I don't think they would send you a secondary if they had no intention to evaluate it. If it was me, I would make the effort to submit it.

Definitely do it! I agree with the above post that you wouldn't have one in hand if they weren't interested. It's only long if you apply to prime etc right? Otherwise the standard question is straightforward. You can do it!

Really though: give it a shot. It's an amazing school and whether you get an II or not it's worth the $$ to see!
 
Rejected pre-secondary, complete early October. I actually appreciate that they take the time to pre-screen, saving some money for the secondary. Best of luck to the rest of you!
 
Just rejected. Secondary complete mid-September. I knew it was a huge reach but this one stings. Bummer.
 
Rejected today 3.5 months post secondary. Bummed about it, but I got into Wisconsin which I'm ecstatic about. Good luck to the rest of you. Maybe I'll make it to the promised land for residency.
 
rejected post-secondary tonight, complete mid-september, 39/4.0/IS but limited clinical experience. pretty bummed but nice to finally know one way or the other! good luck to all those still in the running...
 
Here I am 4 months after submitting my secondary, and still in the running apparently. Rejections and IIs are still both going out!!

Hoping 😳 :xf::shy:

Just be aware that both interviews are closed file. So you can present yourself however you like and will need to talk about everything in your AMCAS more than usual. Good luck!! 🙂

Overall it was a great experience! The school is beautiful, the people are very friendly, and the students seemed happy. My only complaint was a series of very difficult opinion based, ethical and scientific questions. It felt a bit like an interrogation rather than a conversation, but all I can do now is cross my fingers. I wish us both the best of luck, UCSF is fantastic!

In the same boat. Complete mid-late august and haven't heard a peep. No status change when I log in either
 
I have an interview scheduled for mid January!! Anyone want to share a cab ride?

Thanks! I selected the 7th. I'm actually from San Francisco so I'll be driving there.

Question, does UCSF actually mark you 'complete'? I didn't submit my secondary until mid-November and I'm curious as to whether or not I have to wait longer for them to mark me complete before my application is reviewed.

On the status page you should have an update that says something like "your file has been submitted and is currently under review. Should the admissions committee need additional information they will contact you. No further information is necessary at this time." I don't have access any more so I'm not sure of the exact wording, but if you have something to that affect you are complete.
 
Last year (and previous years), people heard of their decisions from UCSF by now O:
 
holy guacamole i just got an interview for the JMP program! I was complete all the way back in August, too! Has anyone gone to any of these interviews yet? Please share some advice!

I think this year they're using a different system for the first time. They told us at the interview that they want to see most of the applicant pool before making any decisions, so the earliest decisions will go out in January. It's going to be a long wait!

Ooohhhh... would you (or anyone else) happen to know when UCSF interviews up until? Just wondering how much of the applicant pool they are talking about proportion-wise, hahah.
