Could anyone chime in about whether it's worth applying here OOS? I don't really have any ties to this area unfortunately (though my mom grew up in detroit) 32 MCAT and 3.75 GPA.
We have very similar stats and I'm applying here as well oos. According to MSAR, cincinnati gives out ~300 interviews out of 3700 oos applicants and matriculates 50.Could anyone chime in about whether it's worth applying here OOS? This is the first time I've seen someone want info about non-misdemeanor traffic tickets. I've had a few more than I probably should (4, 2 not expunged) so hopefully it's not an app killer.
I was about to apply to UCincy, but after reading this - not anymore. Unless one has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, this should not matter and should not be a point to question on the application. SMDH.

Thanks for the encouragement, I think I'll go ahead and do that now! So you were still verified with the 6/12 people? (sorry for creeping on your MDApps hah)I added Cinci a few days after I submitted my AMCAS, and yeah, of course my place in line was not compromised.
Don't worry about it 😉
I'm not verified yet but really want to add this school now. Has anyone added schools before being verified? I know it says we won't get pushed back in line but it still makes me nervous hah

Yay, just added! 🙂 People got secondaries pre-verification, right?
Is it OK to submit the secondary without being verified?

Is anyone having trouble with the secondary still? I read through the instructions page and then when I hit continue, nothing happens 🙁

The application wouldn't work for me on Safari or Firefox, but it worked just fine on Chrome. Is anyone having trouble with the secondary still? I read through the instructions page and then when I hit continue, nothing happens 🙁
So for those of us who have submitted our secondaries.... How do we know if/when our files are complete?
Does anyone know if they've downloaded our LORs? Any emails?
The only email I received was the initial "thank you for submitting" email. But if you log onto MedOneStop you can click on "online application manager" and then "current status" to check. It will tell you if your app is complete and which letters are marked as received
Hello fellow applicants!
So I have no trouble filling out this application, but then when I get to the fee payment page, it keeps telling me my "cardholder phone is invalid" and I have tried every possible combination of my cards and phone number, moms cards and phone numbers, dads cards and phone numbers, and all of this on multiple diff. days throughout the past week.
Has anyone else had this problem and figured out how to get around it?
Thanks for your time guys! good luck with all your apps 🙂

Right...because the midwest is all the same and we don't have state lines or differences at all. Detroit...Cincy...pretty much the same I guess.
I'm from Detroit and interviewed at Cincinnati last year. The two cities very different because Cincinnati is nothing like a stereotypical Midwestern city. It's no Cleveland or St. Louis.
What's the secondary prompt for this school? Want to see the prompt before deciding if I should add this school
What is the reasoning behind this? I don't understand. If your sole reason of determination on whether to apply to a school or not is the secondary essay(s), then you probably have no real desire to attend that school anyway, and should just save your money.
You are completely right. But my ultimate goal and passion in life is to become a physician. Not where I go for medical school. I have already completed/submitted over 30 secondaries, and to be honest, I am feeling a little burned out. But as a re-applicant, I would do anything to maximize my chances of getting into a med school this year. So, the easier the secondary, the easier it is for me to finish on a timely manner, which will translate to a higher chance to get an interview. Rather than working on a hard secondary that'll take me weeks to finish.
I see your point, and good luck.
This secondary was one of the easiest I have had. No essays, just biographical information questions as well as conduct questions (do not skip over them, one asks if you have ever been cited for a traffic violation).

You do realize that 95% of people don't really care about the 'unique' aspects of each medical school, right? Most people apply to a bunch of schools in their stat range... if they get multiple acceptances, it usually boils down to some grey area in the middle of cost, prestige, and location. Easy secondaries make it easier to apply to multiple schools, which increases the shot of an acceptance.
Hey everyone! Just some info...I just started here at UCCOM! Our first day of orientation was today! SDN was great when I was applying, so here are the stats for my class that they told us today: 173 students, 40% OOS, 52% male, 32.5 average MCAT, 3.65 average GPA. Hope this information is useful, and good luck to everyone!
Anyone have any ideas about this? If not I guess I'll call them tomorrow
