Pretty sure they made a few hundred hearts skip a beat with that email. The leadership day looks pretty cool though. I would love to experience it first hand.
 
So quiet....both from Michigan and on this thread...is this not an II Tuesday?

Mine definitely skipped a good few -- and I already have an invite 😳
 
Every time I get an email from them stating, "Please review your University of Michigan web site https://www.umms.med.umich.edu/admappstatus/ , as your status has recently been updated," I feel like I'm about to have a heart attack. There have been about 3 of these now...and now under review. *fingers-crossed* One of my top choices for MSTP!
 
I had a dream that I got an email from Sandra Davis on the admissions team... I was so excited for my interview invite, and then it turned out to be an invite to our annual Researchpalooza ice cream social here at U of M :idea: ... probably resulted from my mixture of anxiousness for interviews, the false alarm with the leadership initiative video, and my love of ice cream.
 
Also, that smiley face was not even close to appropriate for what I was saying lol I thought I would give the smiley a shot and I failed. Sorry guys.

....and now I'm stalking their twitter :smack:
 
what has "under review" meant for ppl who already got interviews?

i have been "under review" since my committee letter was received about a week ago

I've been "under review" since July. It can be awhile. I'm just thankful not to have been rejected off the bat.

Oh well, guess we wait until next Tuesday unless they decide to have a bonus Friday!

Does anyone know if they silently reject? Or do they send out rejects periodically? Or is there a nice consonance day and time (i.e. 10:10 Tuesday) that they send out their rejections?

They'll announce on their twitter when rejections will start to come out. At least they did last year.
 
Noticed this tweet from their admissions twitter just now (it was posted ~2:30PM today):

"Substantial file review this week-10:10 Tuesday likely largest II day of the year! Projecting that we'll begin closing some files on 9/3."

So it sounds like not only are a lot of people going to get good news on 8/27, but a number of people are going to get bad news on 9/3. 😱

Aaaah! I don't think I will be able to do anything else Tuesday morning other than stare at my watch...

anyone have a link to the admissions powerpoint that had realtime stats on interviews vs. mcat scores etc? All I see on their website now is the admission tracker thing.
 
At the end of the interview day, I'm told that the admissions office will:
"...make sure you know exactly when to expect a decision from us...the date and the hour!"

What an awesome idea! I imagine this will really take away the stress of waiting for a decision.

To other SDNers interviewing on 9/6, when do you think the decision date for us will be (my guess is October 15th, which I believe is the earliest allopathic decision-day).

Also, is anyone going to pizza night + tour? Pending other plans to catch up with my host and friend from undergrad, I'm definitely going!

You will have to let me know! I don't even have an II yet, and I have been getting incredibly nervous and unable to do anything Monday and Wednesday nights lately. Especially with tomorrow coming up :scared: :xf: 😱

Good luck! Fingers crossed for you. If it makes you feel better, there's really no point in checking the status website before 3:33. Check it at 3:34 and be done with it 🙂. Or refresh all day, haha. You know about 3:33 Thursday and 10:10 Tuesday, right? These are the times each week that UMich gives IIs.

Anyone know why it's not 2:22 tuesday? Seems like a better choice.
 
Still "under review." Guess that's an upcoming rejection. Expected, so no big deal. Good luck to all!
 
 
Maybe they took my 2:22 suggestion 😀.
Also, to restate a few SDNers' remarks: the II email doesn't come until 5pm. The status page changes at the magic time (either 10:10 am on tuesday or 3:33 on thursday).
