Has anyone who interviewed 11/22 heard back yet? Does anyone know if the admissions committee met this week? Going on 12 weeks post interview...

I interviewed on 11/22 and heard back on 1/21. I would call for an update -- I called a few days before I heard back about a decision and they were really helpful. They checked on the status of my application and let me know that the committee was going to meet the next day and that my application would most likely be discussed during that meeting.

Does that mean you were accepted?

I requested to get into the Facebook group over a week ago and haven't gotten into it yet. Anyone else having the same problem? I would like to post asking if anyone is looking for a roommate.
Have you made it in yet? If not, DM me and I can add you to the group.

Does anyone know if UMN is receptive to letters/ phone calls of interest? I've been on the waitlist since early January and I know I could technically be on it until March 15 but I want them to know that if I do get accepted, I'm 100% going there

So I interviewed 1/6 and just found out that I'm on the wait list. Does anybody know when they come out with rankings for the wait list? Do you know how many people got in off of the waitlist last year? Like udynani, I will 100% go here if I am accepted.

I was waitlisted last year, around the same time. They were not receptive to letters of phone calls and they don't get added to your application. Even if you say you would 100% go there, that won't affect their decision. Is March 15th when the rankings come out? Last year it was around May 1st.

Last year waitlist rankings were out May 1st. I think like 13 people got in off the waitlist last year, the previous few years it was more like 50-70 people.

Has anyone received a financial aid package yet? If so, how is that info sent out?

Hey, made high priority acceptance pool wait-list group... Does anyone have any thoughts for me on this? Thanks!

UMDhopeful that sounds promising🙂 I haven't heard of others receiving a priority waitlist.

Has anyone from the 1/13 interview group heard back yet??

I think you're the first person on here to be told what pool of the wait list you are in. Was it included in your initial email notification of being wait-listed or were you notified of the pool in a later email?

Hey, no it came in the first email I got from them. I had not heard a thing from the school since my interview in December until yesterday!

Greets all! This list has been been incredibly helpful in info-sharing and helping me set my expectations on the whole application process.

Figured I would finally officially join the forum and chime-in given I received a wait-list notification from the TC campus today after interviewing Jan 27th (notified weeks sooner than I was expecting!) IS, 3.63/30. Fingers crossed as I wait for wait-list rankings, as well as hearing back from the Duluth campus. Good thoughts to the rest of y'all agonizing in wait as well 🙂.

Are these numbers for Duluth or TC?

Interviewed 1/6, still no word. . . Anyone else in the same boat? I believe they said ~8 weeks for a decision but we're a little past that at this point.

Just heard back today I am in the high priority acceptance pool . Interviewed 1/17/14 at Duluth. I am soooooooooooo happy to make the list. One of the proudest days of my life.

Good luck everyone!

Do you now when we will hear back for sure!? I'm in the same pool! I was told it may be earlier than mid-April because interviews end this week...

Same here it says mid-April. Also at the end of interviews I remembers someone saying that it was early April, but don't quote me because I am not sure.

Congrats on the High Priority Pool!!!!!!

Can someone explain how the waitlist pools for Duluth work? I was waitlisted back in November but my email didn't say anything about waitlist tiers. It just said "though quite favorable your application has been placed in the acceptable category and we'll let you know in mid-april..." I'm assuming that's not a very good sign but I'd like to pay down a deposit at another school.

From what I have been told if a person interviewed after 45 people have been accepted, which I think was mid December (not 100% sure), then the email after 6-8 week post interview will say High priority, Mid level or Low level.

Now if a person interviewed before the 45 people have been accepted and you got wait listed that means that the person is at least mid or low priority. What I gained from what I have been told is that the high priority is a group of people that should be accepted, but are not yet because admissions doesn't want to over accept.

So, to put it all together if you interviewed before 45 people have been accepted and admissions wanted to accept a person then that person would have been accepted, but for the people who interviewed after 45 people have been accepted and admissions wanted to accept a person then that person is placed the highest priority pool.

****************Don't quote me on any of this though because I am not the admissions department, I think it would just be best to call and ask.

I interviewed 1/6 and got waitlisted. Found out on 2/12. Don't really know why I heard back so quickly or what it means. Just crossing my fingers for a single-digit waitlist ranking. Anybody know anything about the waitlist process??

Was rejected today after being waitlisted back in November. I knew my chances weren't great to come off the waitlist anyways, but it still stings!

I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't even know you could get rejected off the wait list at this time. Is this the twin cities campus?

When can we expect to see our rank on the wait list? I thought it was today. (edit: TC)

I also interviewed 1/6 and got accepted on 2/11. They were really quick at getting back to myself and rmsl48 apparently...

Still no love for me. . . I called LAST Friday (3/7), and they told me I'd hear in a week to 10 days. So maybe early this week? I just heard a few days ago that I'm accepted to the UW, so my anxiety level about MN has dropped.

I did really like UMN though (despite the -40 degree weather), and thought the interview went relatively well, so I'm surprised I haven't heard anything.

Congrats on the UW acceptance. Assuming you're Montana?

Thanks! I'm a native Washingtonian, actually. Minnesota was pretty high on my list because my fiancee is originally from Champlin, so the TC campus would have been close to her family. I don't think I can pass up in-state tuition though, so we'll have to settle for summer visits to their cabin up near Duluth : )

Hey guys, did anyone register for twin cities revisit day? I think I did but I'm not sure, and didn't get any sort of confirm confirmation or follow up email. Did anyone get anything? Just trying to see if I should follow up with them.

Thanks, and good luck to all those still in the running!

I know I emailed back and RSVPed for that mixer thing. Is there something on our acceptance website to register for the revisit day?

I am accepted to Duluth, but certain things have happened recently that jeopardize matriculation this fall. I know Duluth offers a one year deferment, and their statement about deferment is:

DEFERRED MATRICULATION: An accepted applicant may elect to defer matriculation for one academic year

if the request is made before June 1. The request must be made in writing to the Admissions Office. After June 1,

deferrals may be granted at the discretion of the Associate Dean for Admissions."

However, does anyone know how easily deferments are granted, and if they are only granted under certain circumstances? That is, has anyone asked about the deferment policy with someone affiliated with the school? Just seeing if I can get some preliminary answers before probing the school about it.
