Given that there is no Second Look for general admitees. When do you guys think is the best time to visit? At this point, Keck is my top choice, but I want to make an informed decision. Also, do you guys think a stroll through campus is sufficient to getting a feel of the school?

Also, congrats to all the recent acceptances!

No, you also need to stroll through the surrounding potentially unsafe seedy area.
 
Finally got the results of my interview. Waitlisted. I guess its good to find out some sort of post interview response 🙁

Yep, there was a new tab labeled alternate list where you could choose to be added to the alternate list or not.

Hang in there. Let's hope we get off the wait list. Hopefully we see lots of wait list movement.
 
Anyone not hear back yet that interviewed end of jan? Haven't gotten an email yet

Thanks, i had the Geffen interview yesterday. Don't want to start a UCLA vs USC battle, but you can definitely tell the competition is there. I have no allegiance, well maybe to the first school that accepts me 😛
 
Interviewed 7 weeks ago but still haven't heard back...I'm not sure what to think/do, but this is one of my top choices =(
 
🙁 I thought I had it tough for being skipped over 2 weeks after my interview. 7 weeks is just torture

Dr. Arias said it would be all right to call at the 6-week mark, right? Although I'm still really reluctant to =\
 
Wow 7 weeks is tough! I'm sorry you have to wait so much. All this waiting is torture!

It's been two weeks since my interview but Dr. Arias said don't expect anything before 3 weeks and PROBABLY no longer than 6. So maybe you'll hear back from them is week!

So did anyone else who only holds a USC acceptance get this? Or did anyone who only holds a USC acceptance not get this? I'm so confused.

I received the email today and I have multiple acceptances. I'm assuming they only send it to accepted students with multiple acceptances?
 
Anyone have a guess as to how many come off the waitlist?

Thanks. I would assume the same, but I only have one acceptance! It's making me paranoid that I somehow overlooked an email or letter from another school.

I got the same email awhile back and I only have the one acceptance, but I'm also on a waitlist at another school
 
So I interviewed at the end of January but still haven't hear back. Does that mean it's likely a waitlist or a rejection? Not sure why I didn't hear back last week when people who iterviewed a week after me heard back. Makes me think the committee is either debating between waitlist/reject or waitlist/accept. Otherwise why wouldn't they have just waitlisted me last week?

If someone received a merit based grant is it possible for them to still be considered for need based funding?

Is Keck handing out merit based grants already? How were you notified of a grant if you don't mind?

I believe schools do not know how many acceptances a student holds until may 15, at which point they can see which exact school each student has.

Incorrect. Effective approximately 3 weeks ago, once a school has formally accepted you, they have the ability to see all other acceptances you have received from other schools. However, based on previous posts, it appears that USC has sent this email to all applicants they have accepted including those applicants with no other acceptances.

Yeah, I actually called them, and they said that although the email seems quite targeted, it was sent to all people holding acceptances to Keck.

Schools who have only wait-listed an applicant cannot see anything about that applicant's status at other schools; they can't even tell where else the applicant has applied.

This information comes out on 5/15
 
Any idea when decision for people who interviewed during week of February 17th will come out? Has any one who interviewed during week of 2/17 or after heard from USC?
 
I interviewed the 18th and dr. Arias said the committee is meeting next week for that group

I don't think that's right. Dr. Arias mentioned that acceptances for all applicants become available to the Admissions this month. That way they can make more conscious decisions when accepting students off the waitlist. Also, I heard the same thing at the interview at another school.

The following was posted by adcom gyngyn on another thread earlier this week:

"The multiple acceptance list was early this year so, yes, we can now see where students we have accepted are also holding acceptances. We will shortly be able to see where our waitlisted candidates are holding acceptances. We cannot see where you have applied, been waitlisted or rejected. We cannot see your data until we have made a decision on your application (before matriculation)."

I really want to know what is the "regular" time for people hearing back. I interview on feb 7th (friday) so the last round of acceptances, announced on Feb 25 (tuesday), technically wasn't 3 weeks after my interview. I forgot where I read this but according to Dr. Arias we should expect to hear back within 3-5 weeks. @Hipocrates did you interview on that friday or earlier that week?

I interviewed on the same day. I think we will be hearing back on Tuesday.
